Elite Skill Cap[edit]

If you don't have Nightfall, is it possible to capture this Elite Skill still or will it be grayed out?

If I remember correctly, you can capture skills belonging to other campaigns, but they'll have a lock on your skillbar. Can't say I personally have seen this, though. --Kyoshi (Talk) User Kyoshi sig.png 18:37, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
Incorrect, It will be grayed out/locked on the list.you will not be able to catch it.--Neil2250 , Render Lord User Neil2250 sig icon6.png 18:54, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
Duly noted. --Kyoshi (Talk) User Kyoshi sig.png 01:19, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Name Meaning[edit]

I don't know if it was intentional, or if Anet are even aware of this, but since I thought Melikos sounded Greek I decided to check it out and it turns out that apparently melikos is a word used to describe the nine lyric poets of ancient Greece (though lyrikos is more common). Also, meli is ancient Greek for honey, but I couldn't find it with the -kos ending in that context. I doubt it's relevant though, or known to Anet, I just thought it was interesting. Mildly. bad build[edit]

Why did they give this guy a skill from another proffesion with Master of Magic Yay Killing Charr talk 23:39, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

Where is he?[edit]

I've looked several times at Cerris' location, found the nearby Lerita the Lewd and Imuk the Pungent, but no sign of Melikos anywhere in Nebo Terrace (War in Kryta). I've also not seen him in The Black Curtain (War in Kryta) despite extensive visits. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:18, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

He may not have a set spawn when you get to a certain point in WiK, but if you don't listen to all the dialogues at the camp (or any), shouldn't the bosses still be random spawns? Konig/talk 19:45, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
It's a plausible idea (there are several areas in which the mantle/PK that appear change over the course of WiK), but in the absence of current evidence, I think we should treat him as {{historical content}}.
I don't have a current toon mid-WiK, but I had previously visited the areas mentioned above mid-way through the campaign and have never seen Melikos spawn. To test Konig's proposition, I'll see if I can find a guildie who has a character that hasn't gotten to the bounties yet. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:59, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
It is equal speculation to list it as historical content, as there is many things that alter throughout the coarse of Beyond chapters - each "quest item/NPC giver" of HotN disappears, for instance, likewise multiple Am Fah and Jade Brotherhood are replaced by MoPs. I would not doubt that this guy is not the only WiK boss which disappears during the coarse of the story.
With evidence of disappearance does not come evidence of removal (equally, with evidence of others' disappearance does not come evidence of his disappearance).
As for testing, I'd start with someone who has not done anything in WiK yet - merely completed either EotN or Prophecies. And check after every step in the story (basically: Before anything, after required camp-only dialogues, after non-required camp-only dialogues, after Asuran/Ebon Vanguard story parts, and after accessing the keep (where I believe the spawns stabilize no matter what). So long as the spawns randomize, there's a chance he still spawns. A disappearance of a boss mid-story merely means he is killed mid-story. Konig/talk 21:13, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
It's not equally speculative: there's ample evidence of non-appearance; there's no current evidence that he still appears...anywhere. Plus, AFAIk, there's no other WiK boss who stops spawning midway through without a specific quest that would explain it.
So, while we research, I think listing this boss as historical is more consistent with what we can prove.– Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 21:34, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
