Delete[edit]
Instead of starting a revert war, I strongly disagree with delete tag. How is it pointless? Are all abbreviations going to be tagged as being "pointless"... Abbreviation pages are important for players who aren't aware what they mean. ~Celestia 12:09, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- Especially since this one is quite often used. elix Omni 12:13, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- Abbrevation pages are helpful when they are in fact being helpful. But what we are saying here is basicly that PS could mean any skill abbrevated to PS and in my opinion that doesn't leave the reader any wiser than before they came to the page. --Manassas 12:17, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- most of these are never used because the skills aren't, but the page itself isn't gonna be deleted. -Auron 12:29, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- Is there another way to pull all the skills that abbreviate to PS? I'm not aware of one. If a monk comes here looking for the "PS" skill that someone in his group told him to use, he's going to have two main options. Context clues can be used by some players, so I don't see this page being too long to be useful. -- FreedomBound 12:38, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- Exactly. Having a disambiguation page for PS means that someone can stumble across the abbreviation and not sift through some nonexistent list of every commonly-used phrase in the game to figure out what it could possibly mean. They can just wind up here, figure out which meaning was intended from the context, and get the information they need. --Irgendwer 12:41, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- Freedom Bound, simply not listing the useless ones is a big start. All of the "may also refer to" section can be removed and plague sending as well. I mean, seriously? Practiced Stance? Power Shot? Nobody shortens those because the skills aren't worth mentioning, let alone mentioning often enough to warrant an abbreviation. -Auron 12:42, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- As I've said before many, many times, the point of these pages is to document what is actually used in-game, not to list every possible skill that starts with those letters. -Auron 12:44, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- Point taken. Threatening to ban me for vandalism for tagging it for deletion is pathetic though. I hope and pray I will never sink that low myself. Please note that I did actually spur a discussion to clean the page up.--Manassas 12:45, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- Or you could have just been bold and cleaned it up. --JonTheMon 12:48, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- I fully agree, but I still have no idea which ones are the used ones. If I was to clean it up I would end up only leaving Protective Spirit in there, which would probably be too bold. --Manassas 12:51, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- patient, prot spirit and palm strike are used heavily in pvp, and prot spirit (and probably patient as well) are used in pve. plague sending is seen occasionally in RA, but isn't that popular, and none of the bottom list are ever used at all. -Auron 13:23, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- as a side note, feel free to be bold and edit the article all you want, but putting the delete tag back on will be considered vandalism and pointless revert warring. the answer to bad skills being listed isn't deleting the entire page, it's removing the bad skills from the list. -Auron 13:24, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, it's this issue again (see SS and MB for further readings). SS is a prime example of when abbreviations go out of control. Remove the crap ones under Formatting-Abbreviation's "generally, an abbreviation should only be listed if it is unique enough and in common enough use that it is highly unlikely to require further explanation"? ~Celestia 13:38, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- Protector's Strike might also be worth including, but you should probably get a second opinion on that. --Irgendwer 14:31, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- No, people call it pstrike or protstrike. Just like Bull's Strike is bstrike, not BS. Misery 14:42, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- Ugh...BS needs some help too. I just realized how much this wiki likes disambiguating things. --Irgendwer 15:00, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
- And Bstrike doesn't even exist. Hilariously bad documentation, but I am no longer willing to roll my sleeves up and wade into that minefield. I've been there before and people seem to insist on disambiguating every possible acronym, which is anything but unambiguous. Misery 15:19, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

Reset indent. And now someone reverted to show the whole circus including all the bad skills again. Guess some wars aren't worth fighting --Manassas 22:43, 23 June 2010 (UTC)
