Some news

In this video, you can see that:

- The arena is called Polymock Coliseum.
- The NPC that lets you choose your 3 Polymock pieces is called Wokk.
- It appears that the 2 first pieces you choose give you 3 skills each. And the last "piece" give you the last 2 skills
(In the video you can see the player choosing Fire Imp, Gargoyle, Mergoyle and finally getting a skillbar with 3 fire magic skills, 3 utility skills & 2 healing/e-management skills).
- As a result, your skillbar may contain skills from more than 2 professions.
- Once you have chosen your 3 pieces and your opponent, your take the appearence of one of them (might be always the first one or a random one).
- You keep your weapon and shield after transforming.

18 or 27 pieces?

I'm not sure that the last 9 pieces you've added Santax are indeed collectable by players. If you look inside Gw.dat there are 27 icons but only 18 textual descriptions. Moreover I remember reading somewhere a dev interview saying that there are only 18 collectable pieces (can't find the link though). I guess we won't know the real answer before 2 weeks. Chriskang 17:41, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

I've just finished reading gamespy's preview thats been posted on the guild wars website, it said there was 18 peices :/ --User Gummy Joe Sig Icon.PNGGummy Joe 17:50, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) I was poking through the ATEXDXTL files and found skill icons saying <monster name> Form for all of these together, and I didn't see any for the other 18 so I dunno... they might have been dropped ideas or something, but there are unfinished icons in the Gw.dat. --Santax (talk · contribs) 17:52, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
And btw, how do you access the descriptions? I tried setting the things for the FFNA files to display only ASCII in the columns and it just came out all jumbled, which is what you'd expect. How did you access the descriptions of the PvE-only skills and the like? --Santax (talk · contribs) 17:54, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
The file containing polymock skill description is #130137 in the current build (using -image of course). It's not an FFNA file (type is "unknown" in GwDatBrowser) and the text is not ASCII but UTF16, therefore it's hard to read in the build-in hew editor. I suggest you export the file as raw data, rename it to "dummy.htm" and open it in Firefox. Then choose "Encoding = UTF16" in your firefox option and you sould see everything correctly. Chriskang 18:20, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
Ok, I'll give that a go :D --Santax (talk · contribs) 18:27, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
Hmm... I did an -image just a minute ago and for me, #130137 is an ATEXDXT5 O_o --Santax (talk · contribs) 18:35, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
Weird... I thought everyone add the exact same Gw.dat when doing -image. Let's try another method : sort your list by uncompressed size and look for a file whose uncomp. size is 55696. Can you find it? Chriskang 18:52, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
Yeah... it's #7300 O_o --Santax (talk · contribs) 19:01, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
I've brought this up at User talk:Gaile Gray#The other nine Polymock pieces. -- Gordon Ecker 04:09, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
confirmed by gaile that the pieces are not obtainable. --VVong|BA 15:54, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
the question now is, what do we do w/ the articles regarding the polymock piece? i think the polymock piece articles are jumbled up content-wise anyways. it makes more sense to tie the skillbars displayed in those articles to the polymock form articles than the piece articles. once we do that, we can just go and delete the piece articles since those pieces don't exist. --VVong|BA 16:00, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
Is there a chance that these will be added at a later time? If removed, we should keep the formatting saved somewhere in case that they are later added. -- Alaris_sig Alaris 19:15, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
we could keep them on the talk page maybe. --VVong|BA 00:18, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

(reset indent) since there hasn't been more comment, i'm going to go ahead and do what i've outlined and move the skill tables from the piece articles to the form articles and add the delete tag to the piece articles. the part that bugs me is that 9 of the form articles aren't forms the players can use. they're really monster disguises, i.e monster skills. i feel like it makes more sense to keep these forms w/ the effects infobox, but if someone disagrees, we can discuss it. --VVong|BA 21:06, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

When you click on one of the 27 polymock pieces, it brings up a new screen which says something like, "...is one of the 27 pieces a player can choose...". This is obviously wrong, a player can only choose from 18 pieces. Anyone planning on fixing this? --IGN: Thirteen Thirtysven
done. --VVong|BA 14:16, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Weird skill type

According to this image, the Polymock "Watch Yourself!" skill is an enchantment. Don't know why though. Maybe there are no shouts in the minigame? Chriskang 09:51, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Where to Get

Is this available during the Weekend Event? I thought it might since there is a list of available pieces. However I can not find where to obtain the first pieces :( 68.104.205.160 03:18, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Fonk in Gunnar's Hold says: You need to acquire your starter Polymock peices in Rata Sum ... - Rata Sum isn't avalible on preview weekend, so Polymock isn't either. --Шєвч [TALK] @ 09:24, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
A friend in alliance said they just got a Gaki piece from a dungeon end chest. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 15:14, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
Lol, I sold him that! But yeah, the Gaki Piece wasn't a "starter piece", so the minigame still wasn't available. --Santax (talk · contribs) 09:38, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Bug?

I just killed the 2 guys (Necro, and one in the Grotto) for the quest. and got the reward.. but the master polymock guy wont give me the next quest.. is this a bug??? or.. how can i get the next quest..

The Necro is not the last one, the last one is in Doomlore Shrine, and you can only get the quest from Hoff, when you have DS on your map explored. --71.72.56.53 15:12, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Ehh, a guildie have the same problem, hoff wont give him more quest, and i think he have doomlore shrine already, did you managed to find the problem?--Batousai 18:17, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

Naga Shaman

The skills for the Naga Shaman Piece do not cause damage (Spirit Rift & Painful Bond) Not sure if Anet is aware of the issue.

Polymock Block

Is it a glitch that Polymock Block doesn't consistantly block skills when used during their cast time?

I don't know, but I've had it happen on multiple occasions where the skill doesn't get blocked (i.e. against the Dwarf piece casting Sandstorm). I've also had it where, when I Power Drain Sandstorm, it has recharged in 10 seconds. I might have just chalked it up to lag had it not occured a few times. I'll see if I can get some screenies showing the timer and his skill usage. ~~Henry of Navarre
maybe the Dwarf has something along like Djinn's Haste? Slashy 09:26, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Polymock PvP

I'm begging any Devs looking at this page to consider making a Polymonk PvP. Repeatedly beating the master is not fun. I won't humans that I can't beat by using the same tricks over and over again. Please, please, please add Polymock PvP. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Bowflight .

Yeah Polymock PVP would be awesome, I hope they include it in a content update. ~~ CoffeeMan --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:74.59.164.153 .
I would like to third that. I bet it's already in the works, just unimplemented yet. Maybe also a PVP boxing ring for the brass knuckles as well?
Wow I'm surprised there is no PVP Polymock; In guild wars Pokemon on steroids screams PVP to me! Concerned User 1337000 05:40, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Guys, this isn't the place to suggest stuff. Not only is it the wrong place, it's completely ineffective, too. 18:12, 28 December 2007 (UTC) --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:85.97.0.129 .
So is hoping those users above are still watching a conversation that's 3 months old. -- ab.er.rant sig 18:27, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
I can't beat anyone T-T apart from the 1st one Zachariah Zuan 17:17, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

More than one

Is it possible to register more than one of the same polymock piece? So, say I wanted to enter with 3 Fire imp forms for example?

Yes, it is, because I someone got two Fire Imp pieces instead of one. However, after beating the master, you can only enter with one of each rarity, thus meaning no duplicates. (Come on, lol, three Earth Eles would rock any team. :O)Bowflight 20:09, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Bug

I was playing as the Scale against Blarp's Ice Elemental Polymock Peice and the arena froze. By that I mean I killed the Ice Elemental (he had already lost the Stone Golem and I had lost the Kappa) and when the Ice Elemental died the arena didn't continue. I wasnt given the third opponent and nothing else happened. Dancing Gnome 20:18, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Yep, the same thing happened to me in the Polymock Collisium, it's a general polymock bug, just /resign and start over unfortunately. -- Luigi Luigi shodansig.jpg (T/C) 22:21, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Strategies and 5/8

I just noticed that only the first 3 skills differ from each other, the other 5 are common to all Polymocks. I suggest discussing these 5 skills and associated strategies, and then only stating the 3 other skills in the table. Alaris 14:35, 7 September 2007 (UTC)

You mean removing the common skills from the piece skill categories (Polymock Gargoyle skills etc)? Narayanese 08:06, 8 September 2007 (UTC) nvm, misunderstood.

skillbar summary

as the last 5 skills are always the same do we really need to repeat them for every entry, why not just list the 3 skills unique to that piece? --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 21:28, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes, the skillbars are way too redundant at the moment. -- CoRrRan (CoRrRan / talk) 22:11, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Life Attunement

What if you cast life attunement on him before the battle to reduce his damage. Would that work?Fire Tock 23:31, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Nvm I just tried it. You loose it when you become your piece, so the enchantment ends.Fire Tock 23:34, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Working bug (Thanks Kabroz The Necro)

Kabroz the necro have posted In GuildWiki discussion way to win.Take lacerate and he says that toxicity works too. Use them when your opponent has less than 90% and he will get bleeding. It works.

It can't work cause spirits are removed when you start the fight. Fei 17:21, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
Lacerate can cause bleeding when it dies (if they're <90% health). Toxicity is useless though. --Valshia 17:47, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

You dont use lacerate during fight.use it when you have to choose your second piece.Doble cast it.

Rank Limit?

Can you still play polymock when your Asura Rank is above 8? - Lord Ehzed 13:09, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

i'm pretty sure you can. maybe you don't get anymore rep points. - Y0_ich_halt Have a look at my page 16:28, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
You still can. No points in any way above tier 8. --141.154.149.224 05:53, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
so it will be really boring and even more pointless to keep doing it
