Talk:Polymock
reward dispute[edit]
anvar says that tourney wins give 90 pts regardless of opponent, while the old text gave a range of 40-90. someone want to clarify? --VVong|BA 15:34, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Name[edit]
I'm thinking the name of Polymock means something. Poly- = many and mock... so Manymock? I'm thinking it gets it's name from mocking lots of things like Pokemon and stuff. What do you guys think? Or am I crazy--Tyri Sunbeam 02:47, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- Poly=Many Mock=You "pretend" to be (mock) that piece, I think. 198.174.37.44 03:31, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

PvP Polymock?[edit]
What about a PvP Polymock with its own ranking and hiscore table?
- No. Just no -- Magamdy 18:41, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
advanced starting strategy[edit]
If no one disputes that using your interrupt against Glyph of Concentration (especially when the intent is to use Polyblock after) is incredibly stupid, I'm removing it next time I fly by. - 72[evolved] {U/S/C} - 03:31, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
Easy ;)[edit]
- Very easy to win Polymock if you use a Ruby Djinn Polymock Piece, otherwise it's extremely frustrating to beat polymock with starter pieces..64.229.24.19 21:48, 29 August 2009 (UTC)
- I've followed the guides on each of the polymock battles using starter peices and have had no problems... 1 or two close fights and one losted due to lag, but otherwise using starting peices is np... jsut be sure to interrupt their heavy attacks as much as possible and keep them trapped with low energy... 192.203.160.241 16:00, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- I had given up on polymock until yesterday when a ruby djin piece dropped from a chest. I decided to give it a try and I beat the whole quest chain in about an hour. Ruby piece is hax! The decline 12:27, 26 February 2010 (UTC)
- ...How is it easy? I've tried five times using the ruby djinn piece and I still fail no matter what I do. I don't know how you people are saying it's easy. It's impossible.

- Polymock is incredibly difficult and not fun. The starting chains don't work at all and I'm dead within 10 seconds. I'd rather vanquish the domain of anguish than play this ridiculous poorly designed stupid minigame. POLYMOCK IS TOO GODAMM HARD!!!66.47.27.36 22:57, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
- I ended up registering a Gold Stone Rain I got from a chest and some purples I'd got from another player on my first time through. After that, I just kept rolling all the pieces I won into storage and onto my next chara. I managed to do the whole quest chain on all my charas within a few hours. Except for the very first run at it, the ONLY pieces I actually used in every single match were the Fire and Earth elementals and the Mirage Iboga that Hoff gives on completion. Only a couple of 2nd attempts on Hoff which was either from lag or my own fault. So buy, beg or just borrow a few decent quest reward pieces to get started, roll them over into your next character as you win, and you shouldn't have too much problem. 204.10.131.97 03:48, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Stackable[edit]
All the polymock pieces are listed as not stackable but in fact they do stack. I'm too laze to edit them all. 82.143.219.108 14:02, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
Latest edit[edit]
I don't know about the image at the header, it seems a little much like you're trying to create your own logo for the mini-game out of random (as far as anyone who hasn't played Polymock knows) set of icons for regular skills. I like the "form lineup" except that personally I'd rather see something other than two "-goyles", maybe an Iboga piece in place of one of them. I agree that it should probably have a picture at the top, but I don't know what should be put there; the Polymock piece that was there previously was kind of meh as far as an introductory image. Maybe a screenshot of a Polymock battle? I'm not going to edit it right away, since if nobody else has a problem with that image I don't think it'd be an issue to keep it. Discuss. --[-Kyoshi-]::[-Talk-] 09:45, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
- I think the logo, as it doesn't accurately represent the pristine & original element of the game, should be changed if there at all. A picture of the main arena or a game being played would be sufficient. The other one seems okay, but if you do think the selection should be better, go take 'em. | 72 (U|T|C) 14:02, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
- The article needed an enhancement picture-wise. I just took the move to get things going. The picture in the header is not my work. It came up in the Featured article discussion. It may not realy fit, but I had no better idea. If any of you guys can create better quality / more appropriate pictures, please go ahead and change the current ones. I would appreciate that. Balwin 17:18, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- I added a caption with an explanation as to why those five icons were chosen. Just for the record, I actually wanted a lineup of the figures, ala the Profession page. Jette created the current image, which is pretty neat in itself. The form image is also nice, but, IMO a little dark / hard to see. -- FreedomBound 18:26, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
- This page is beeing talked about to be featured. For now I think we have reached consense, If you do not agree with this please leave a message here --Wysth 18:54, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- Created a new line up. This is lighter and the forms ar better visible. 22:01, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
- OK, I came up with another idea for the picture in the header. What do you think of this collection of pieces instead of the skill icons? Balwin 17:59, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

Versus?[edit]
Maybe make polymock a versus game, meaning player vs player. And then give something like 50 asuran points per win --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Shadow Form Slayer (talk).

Maxing the Asura title with Tournament[edit]
The page states that you need 1778 wins to max the asura title. This implies that the tournament still yields asura points from rank 8 onwards. Is that true ? I thought there were no way to max a rank without playing in hard mode (at least, before the introduction of the Zaishen quests).
- You can't get points for bounties or book rewards, but you can still receive points for quest rewards.--Pyron Sy 03:14, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
"Pokemon on steroids".[edit]
Is this really an appropriate thing to put in the article? Even if it was said by an Arenanet employee - which I severly doubt - things like this statement belong in the notes section or not there at all. Anyone else agree? Pariahtalk 04:37, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
- I can't find you the link at the moment, but I'm 99% sure an Anet employee described Polymock as such when asked. Polymock was reasonably "hyped up" by Anet before EotN came out, so people were wondering what it was -- and it turned out to be a fairly accurate description. calor (talk) 05:02, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
- I'm just not convinced it's necessarily a proper description to put in the main text of the page. It feels like something that belongs in the notes or trivia with an external link to where it was said. Tbh, we have a whole article on Polymock, why do we need this quote? I won't cause problems, but I just don't see the point. Pariahtalk 05:08, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
- It should be on the Trivia section. It's clearly not an description that fits much any kinds of lore or in-game texts. MithTalk 15:59, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Stackable[edit]
Yes these are stackable. File:User Chieftain Alex Polymock Stack.jpg --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 15:25, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
- wow, that surprises me. well, i see you already changed Aloe Seed Polymock Piece. looks like we could start a tagging spree for the remaining ones. —ZerphaThe Improver 21:43, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
- Confirmed it works with all regular stones & purples I have obtained upto Hoff. --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 16:53, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
- great :D i changed the parameter of the rare ones too, i see no reason why these shouldn't be stackable as well. and if this should in fact not be the case, we can still revert it afterall. chances are certainly better that they are stackable. —ZerphaThe Improver 18:15, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Energy issues?[edit]
Anybody have energy issues while playing? I had 14 energy yet it wouldn't' let me activate any skills, saying not enough energy.
- I had the same when I played it like a year ago :P and plz sign --The Holy Dragons 13:18, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- have had the same problem in a couple of rounds, and some say it as a server/client, lag/latency issue. Still, you can still hear the Click of Fail if you have your volume up (the issue doesn't seem to affect that) so you can compensate by hitting your sig for 10 energy every time you hear it, which helps a lot if your eyes are on the enemy's activation bar) or just automatically go there when you skills stop activating, and just pace it out for the win. 204.10.131.97 03:30, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
