Please sign your talk page comments using ~~~~. You will only ressed at the nearest shrine that is "active", read the article to tell if the shrine is active and how to activate it.- TheRave User TheRave sig.jpg 06:08, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Ok i agree with you i ACTIVATED 3 shrines and i didnt rez at them they had an ethereal light it is so fuckign dumb and pissed me off--Le Roi Phenix 15:08, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

I was wondering where the picture of the shrine was taken? - - C4K3 User C4K3 Signature.jpg Talk 16:26, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

seriosly they need to make it where if its on your radar you will warp to that one....3 times now i died maybe half a radar circle away and get rezed on the other side of the map -_- Auren X 02:33, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

This is happening in key places. The 3 main places it ALWAYS happens to me are, The Shattered Ravines (Nightfall Desolation), The Marga Coast (Nightfall Kourna) and the entire Kurzick/Luxon area.--3608 01:46, 3 November 2009 (UTC)

I just triggered 3 shrines in the realm of torment and was brought to the beginning shrine. I got pissed off and reran the route (I was running the quest), this time without triggering the first one and triggering only the last 3. Well I died, and a sign you would see in the mission showed up with the Failure and the "Return to Town" I was pretty pissed off and have decided not to do this quest. --3608 01:55, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

They have always been buggy if anyone has done the Bogroots Sin run then getting through level 2 can be a nightmare.. the entire team gets close to the 2nd res shrine and dies with 1 person touching it and you all get warped to the first one --Ok Dont Panic 01:58, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

I Take It Only Players Can Activete Shrines? i.e. Heroes/Henchies Won't Activate It If They Are Flagged There... Kraal FardaleUser Kraal Sig.pngTalk 19:55, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

It appears to be that way. Flagging doesn't activate shrines. -- Konig/talk 20:50, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

wtf[edit]

kk i was vqing dragons gullet(bad name for map anyway) and got wiped by big mob of hydra near rez shrine. no biggie. i rez in mob and get wiped like 3-5 more times thinking if i can target 1 i can wear em down but i get the "your party has been defeated return to outpost" its not a mission so y in hell dont i continue rezing? a-net ows me a vq for this map i was 90%done. now im going elsewhere to vq cause im pissed!Stevil 21:51, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

Uhm, read the rules of hard mode. If your whole party get's 60% dp, your party fails. GG--/ u /nendingfear File:User Unendingfear Avatar.png 21:53, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

Lore?[edit]

Outside of being an excruciatingly obvious game mechanic, why are characters continually granted new lives at these random resurrection shrines anyway? I would like to see an explanation added to this page, if anyone is up to it. Wrend 03:59, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

Grenth allows it for exceptional heroes or ones that are just beginning. At least, that's what I can gather. Not sure why Prince Rurik wasn't allowed to res. 108.36.137.147 20:44, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

More info on shrine activation?[edit]

Can someone look into the requirements for a shrine activation based on people in party?. For example, if a runner activates a shrine while the rest of the team consisting of 8(including the runner) dies at the beginning, will they teleport to the shrine the runner activated?-Wracken 15:22, 8 April 2012 (UTC)

How exactly is "nearest" defined?[edit]

It doesn't seem to be determined by where the last player to die is, so now I wonder if it's shortest average distance to all party members taken separately or something. 67.248.86.3 11:37, 3 June 2014 (UTC)

its something like the closest shrine to >=50% of party members..
e.g. if you're doing a dungeon sc and 6/8 party members die within earshot of shrine #1, and 2 players continue to within touching distance of shrine #2 and wipe, then the entire group will rez at shrine #1.
its been a while since I've played, but there are some exceptions involving heroes/henchmen, iirc it only counts humans for shrine triggering? -Chieftain Alex 11:51, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
Correct. Heroes and henchmen can not be used to force-res closer to another shrine. If the heroes and/or henchmen die at shrine #1 and the player runs to shrine #2 to die there, the whole party will resurrect at shrine #2.
The definition of nearest seems to be the nearest in a straight line from the [majority of the] party, where active shrines take priority over inactive shrines. If no shrines are active when the party dies, the party will resurrect at the nearest shrine all the same, except in Luxon or Kurzick areas with guarded shrines that you don't meet the faction requirement for (not a lot of areas will have this restriction, though). - Infinite - talk 20:43, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
