Wrong map??? Why did someone put a map for Abbadon's Mouth in a article for Ring of Fire??? lol --MCPol 17:44, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Wrong map, you're correct. Tagged for deletion. josəph 18:51, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
This is the correct map. See the map of Abaddon's Mouth. poke | talk 18:53, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
ok thx - my bad! josəph 18:55, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
my bad too - but to me it still looks like a map of abbadon's mouth :S --MCPol 19:43, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Redirect[edit]

I am redirecting Ring of Fire (explorable area) here because this mission has no explorable area. Shard 05:09, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

There's no need to redirect it. — Eloc 00:19, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
why, it doesent exist.... and if someone was looking for the mission this page is that they would want. so why not do us laymen a favor and stop telling people not to help out.

H&H HM.[edit]

This mission isnt as bad as i first thought. I found that the lvl 30 bosses "Odelyn the Displeased" and "Coventina the Matron → (Aura of Faith)" are hard to kill, even with 2 hero fire nukers and 1 henchie fire nuker. I ended up taking a ranger interrupter.

The interrupter made killing the mursaat and jade armor a little bit tougher due to less damage, but it made the bosses a lot easier.I took the short route through the ether seals. Once the door was opened, i pulled the two groups out, killed them, then i ran past the eter seal on the right and pinned my heroes, recharged then took out that seal.

I dindt use a mm, nor did i go any where on the map that is in green (the trail).Micro 22:15, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

This mission is indeed incredibely easy, just want to show what I did:
Party: Me - N/Mo (with Spoil Victor and Pain Inverter); 3 Heroes - Sabway Nec Trio; Henchmen - Devona, Cynn, Mhenlo and Alesia
Just follow the quick route, with confronting the front gate. The Seals are very easy to defeat if you time PI and SV correctly.
Further: Indeed the monk bosses are hard, but killable. And I did not use any cons or summoning stones. And make sure you have a longbow for pulling the groups of mursaat carefully at the front gate out of the Seal's AoE. --Timus 00:23, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

No Reward[edit]

I completed this mission in HM today, but it wouldn't update as completed. When I restarted Guild Wars to see if it would refresh, I saw that the mission isn't completed at all. I got the cutscene and everything, and the sword through the helmet in the cuscene was the one of the mission, not the bonus. I completed the bonus in an earlier try. Bonus???[edit]

Can we have an exact location on the map for where the Eidolon is supposed to be so nobody else wastes an hour following incredibly vague (and apparently wrong) directions?

The directions are correct. Have you both a) talked to the Ancient Seer first, and then b) made sure to clear the 4 Ether Seals attached to the towers at the front gate? The Eidolon won't spawn until you've done both of those. Go to Aiiane's Talk page (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 18:38, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
They're still really really vague. "Between the two far gates" Who's supposed to understand that?116.14.102.115
people who know what a far gate is. personn5High Winds.jpg 00:51, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
Plus, if you're doing it right, you see the Eidolon spawn, or even see him spawn in the middle of your party --Timus 00:16, 19 October 2009 (UTC)
Just destroy the 6 first ether seals starting from the front door and the Eidolon should spawn right next to you... 67.68.71.198 22:17, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
The Directions are clear once you've completed the Mission; and your already inside; then it makes perfect sense; not to be snarky here; it's a matter of perpective; One might add the Eidolon will spawn the instant you break the last seal so you might make sure to clear the court of Jade Warriors First.(cleaned up the text). --Blackbirdx61 17:27, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
This topic is outdated: Last reply was on 30 May of 2010 (2 years ago). And even before that comment, user Celestia had updated the mission map on February 23rd of 2010 with an icon mark (legend). Also the main page bonus section was updated on this year's February 25th. User Yoshida Keiji Signature.jpg Yoshida Keiji talk 12:07, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Signet Spike[edit]

Did they change this? I let my pet die near the Ether Seal in HM, and had a necro use Signet of Sorrow on the Seal, but it did not instantly recharge. FloppyJoe12:55, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Nevermind. I just realized that the ether seals were just interrupting the signet, which caused it to not recharge. My bad. FloppyJoe13:11, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Trivia[edit]

Why does this place remind me of the song "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash? I guess because of the burning, etc.? Could it be 'relevant' and if so? Should I add it? -- User Ariyen sig icon.gifriyen 10:18, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

Have it automatically play as soon as you come on this page. That song is just so epic. But in all seriousness, no. It's not really relevant except for the name and the bit about fire tbh. --Short talk to me 10:59, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
Yea, I was kinda thinking it was 'somewhat' relevant as the song is similar to that, but it's like meh... Not sure, just wanted to see what others thought. -- User Ariyen sig icon.gifriyen 11:02, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

Makes me think of the film Ring of Fire, or was it Region of Fire? The British one with dragons taking over the world and forcing humans to near-extinction... 92.28.128.242 22:59, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

Excuse my math[edit]

But since when has 6 people fitting into 6 slots with no repeats ever wound up as anything other then all 6 people? you WILL encounter all 6 mursaat bosses on this mission, i have never had any fewer then a full 6 --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 99.182.80.13 (talk).

Haven't completed this mission in a while, but can a party reach the Mursaat boss found on the back route by taking the front route instead of the back route? "The Mursaat and Jade bosses share six spawn points, so all of them can be encountered" would be correct if your party has to take the back route to be able to reach the Mursaat boss on the back route. --Silver Edge 05:00, 24 June 2010 (UTC)
One can, but it is hard to kill the boss - especially if you don't have enough damage via casters alone (minions masters=worthless, rangers, paras, dervishes, assassins, most spirits, warriors=worthless). If you go the front way, the boss in the back way can be encountered, but hard to kill and out of the way. -- Konig/talk 08:25, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

First Encounter with Mursaat Towers[edit]

It says this is the first encounter, but in actuality this is the first in-mission, as you have to pass one in Perdition Rock in order to get to the Ring of Fire. That actually teaches you the mechanic. Should the page be changed to reflect that? Politicalmind (talk) 13:32, 1 August 2018 (UTC)

Extremely Bad Advice[edit]

Why is there subjective info on a wiki? The line 'Despite this, many players find the front gate easier than the back route' is subjective, and not fit for a wiki, and in my experience, not even close to true. Not only do you have several extremely dangerous Mursaat Elementalists, you have two Mursaat Towers to completely negate any energy, which then means your Monks will not be able to heal, which then means you will wipe if you follow this short-sighted, bad advice. Perhaps years ago when it was easy to have a full-human party, but today most parties will be henchmen/heroes and thus this will not be viable due to their suicidal, mostly uncontrollable nature.

If anything it's a little vague. On my first playthrough in 10 years, I found it much easier to pull Jade and Mursaat away from the Ether seals while flagging my team away, than to deal with Lava Imps. --95.147.204.112 21:53, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
Front door is significantly faster, and it's not even remotely difficult with a proper hero team. Blow up one seal and retreat for bip if you need to. Pull the margo patrols inside the gate out and it's easy.
The fact that you mentioned monks running out of energy indicates that you're running sub-optimal hero compositions. 76.127.242.82 00:24, 16 December 2019 (UTC)
