Talk:Rot Wallow

Image[edit]

This image is really bad considering the grass gets in the way of the main photo. Can we either replace this with a new one, a render, or maybe an image of Brutus or Sheena? --User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 04:01, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

Use the Fungal Wallow photo. They use the same skin as far as I've seen. I'd do it myself, but I honestly don't know how. 72.81.247.139 08:59, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Bug?[edit]

When I get hit by a normal attack from these guys, I get knocked down, bug or do their attacks cause Knockdown, like the Abyssals? Anbu 21:28, 13 December 2008 (UTC)

Rot Wallows are occasionally accompanied by Island Guardians, who use Signet of Judgement, an unconditional knockdown. Are you sure it was not that? User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 00:44, 14 December 2008 (UTC)
I'm sure that's not the case, went to Boreas Seabed (explorable area) to check if that's the case, and even when there are no Island Guardians around, you still get knocked down when the Rot Wallow attack you.Anbu 12:12, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

I had them well away from any Island Guardian. They were most certainly knocking me down. Either they now have an innate KD like giants or something got bugged in the skill changes this week. Buddah668 23:07, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

I ran some tests, and knockdown seems to happen randomly. I'm suspecting a 50% chance. I'll add a bug notice on the page. --User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 01:05, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Abyssals have the same ability. IMO it's probably a passive monster buff. Anyway, we could ask Linsey. -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 01:58, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
I put a report at ArenaNet talk:Miscellaneous bugs. Though Linsey's page would be a better idea. I truly don't remember these guys ever having base knockdown, but I'm not sure. --User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 02:02, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Not noticing it might be related to them being casters who melee... pretty sure it's not something new. 66.190.15.232 05:31, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Maybe they got it in Thursday's update because Fetid Ground no longer had any synergy with Weaken Knees. Anyway, I plan on asking her about knockdowns and the update in a day or two if no one else feels like doing it first. -- User Gordon Ecker sig.png Gordon Ecker (talk) 10:01, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
I just left a note on Linseys page. I guess we'll see what she has to say. --User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 16:19, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
It's not a bug, but intended from what I read. It's more noticable now because prior to a recent update, they didn't have a weapon of their attribute, everytime they critical they knock you down. 122.111.17.191 07:10, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
The skill is supposed to KD on critical though, and my ele is getting knocked on her but with Stoneflesh Aura up (and no Island Guardians were involved.) What gives? Katscratched User Katscratched Sig.gif 17:42, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Just another farming killer. The nerfbat finds you in every dark corner, oh yes Nay the One and Only User Nay the One and Only SIG.png 10:44, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

High Earth Resistance?[edit]

I was fighting these guys recently and I noticed Sand Storm was only doing 16 dmg instead of 29, do these guys have high resistance to earth? 122.111.17.191 07:11, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Global +24 armor: Guild_Wars_Wiki:Projects/Armor_rating#Wallows. Unlike their Kurzick counterparts, for some reason. Manifold User Manifold Jupiter.jpg 17:05, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

Possible Trivia[edit]

Their name is suspiciously close to rotweiler. Considering the German influence on the Kurzick race as a whole, this could be intentional. SarielV 20 x 20px 20:43, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
