They wield oppressor weapons and have white tiger as pets like the enemies on WiK. It's a bug or a placeholder for the new weapon set? Lokheit 17:09, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

Bandits/Peacekeepers? --Falconeye 00:39, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
Not peacekeepers. They're probably their own affiliation, but it's hard to tell. Bandits seem to be a Prophecies-only affiliation thus far, and these guys don't use bandit models - they use Canthan Peasant models. Konig/talk 01:26, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
Where/How do they fit in lore-wise? Peacekeepers made sense... but these dudes pop out of nowhere like an infestation nearly as bad as the Afflicted themselves. Shouldnt the Crimson Skulls be attempting the recapture lost territory or something? And why hasnt the Shadow Blades made any moves (assuming they arent already from the shadows)? --Falconeye 07:58, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
The Crimson Skull are, as far as we know, no more - and these guys showing up only furthers that. The Shadow Blades were a small guild during Factions so they could of been wiped out (I'm curious why the Obsidian Flame haven't appeared yet though). The lore on these guys is just their name, sadly, which is "they're scavengers." Konig/talk 15:10, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

How do you get rid of the Scavengers?[edit]

Ever since I regretfully started the WoC storyline I now have overpowered Scavengers showing up in the Lagoon on noob island. I can't vq the area cuz the foes are too strong. Why are they there? And how do I get rid of them? I just want the island back to the way it was. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 64.179.119.162 (talk).

You could try bringing along a character in your party that hasn't completed the quests to make them spawn, that might get rid of them. Mora 18:59, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
Thanks...I will give it a try.
I tried to do that in order to vanquish Minister Cho's Estate today, and I can confirm that the Scavengers will still spawn even when my other party members have not completed any of Shing Jea Island's WoC content. Looks like any vanquishers need to be warned to hold off on beginning WoC until after they finish up any vanquishes in areas that have Afflicted groups. The rest of us are unfortunately going to have to wait for a time when the overpowered Scavenger groups are balanced for 4-man parties. Stel 04:00, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
Someone who hasn't done the WoC quests should be leading. InfestedHydralisk 13:57, 6 August 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) I haven't done the WoC quests and was leading my party and we still had Scavengers in HL when we went there to VQ, so that doesn't work. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 108.77.204.172 (talk).

If you haven't done the WoC quests yet, but somebody else in your party has, then you will run into the scavengers. If you want them to go away, ditch the folks that have done the quests. --MushaUser Musha Sigc.png 07:20, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

Drops[edit]

Just wondering, do these scavengers drop anything special? Or is becoming a nuisance to VQ their only purpose?--82.156.55.28 21:45, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

Clarifications[edit]

Currently, the Winds of Change storyline trumps all others. That means players who have started this part of Beyond will impose the tougher spawns on everyone else in the party, including characters who haven't even finished Factions. This is a known bug, but no ETA has been announced to fix it. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 13:42, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

what if you want to do The Captured Son after finishing factions, will this quest be unsolvable due to the replacement of all the crimson skull? [[80.137.28.143 18:40, 18 May 2012 (UTC)]]

Level[edit]

So the page says that the scavengers are only lvls 24 and 26, but I am currently doing Cleansing Haiju Lagoon (NM, and solo so nothing else is affecting mobs), and there are a bunch of various lvl 8 versions running around. It's actually kind of funny, since their pets (Elder White Tigers) are lvl 15, aka 7 levels above them. I didn't see any other documentation on this, so I thought I'd ask about it here. This is confusing because this page says they're a much higher level than the ones I see, and the Cleansing Haiju Lagoon page says they shouldn't appear until after quest completion. Anyone have any idea what's going on here? Or am I missing something obvious? Thanks. Ailina 04:57, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

Well, the latest update made a lot of changes, so this is probably one of those and noone's updated the wiki page yet. -- Hong 04:59, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
Yes I saw they changed it too, I was helping out a friend with a normal quest and saw the scavengers were low lvls. They still used none faction skills and proffessions though. --Kilaa1000 22:07, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
Just did some more research in-game. Seems they use the same builds as they used to. Including elite skills. just their lvl lowered to lvl 8. --Kilaa1000 22:12, 16 February 2012 (UTC)
Level 8s with elites? Those are some epic level 8s... Konig/talk 02:43, 17 February 2012

It seems that in NM their levels are mechanically scaled down, but nothing else changed, so we have lvl 8 foes with elite skills and lvl 15 Elder pets. It's beyond of common sense from the point of normal low-level characters in Factions, but normally they should never meet Scavengers here in NM (only in a party with WoC characters, if it's not a bug at all). IMO, it would be more reasonable to have the lower level limit 20 for foes in NM everywhere in WoC, even here in low-level Shing Jea areas. Perhaps this was missed at design time of this expansion. --Slavic 18:07, 16 May 2012 (UTC)
