extra xp from SoC?[edit]

if you use a scroll and cap a skill, do you get scroll bonus from cap signet exp? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:24.92.62.60 (talk).

according to the ingame description (..."you gain +...% XP from combat"...): no. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 15:19, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

change description for Scroll of Resurrection?[edit]

As this item cannot be purchased from a Rare scroll trader, and is neither an experience nor a passage scroll, and rather one of the consumables that can be purchased from the Consumable item crafters, i'd suppose to change the description in the article to something like:

==Notes==
*There is a '''[[Scroll of Resurrection]]''', which resurrects all party members within earshot.
This item i not technically a scroll, as it cannot be purchased from a [[rare scroll trader]].

(and i know, my comment contradics itself somehow as we treat much more items as Consumable items than those items that can be purchased from those traders. Though this is a subtype of consumables, so saying this scroll does not have this subtype could still be reasonnable...) —ZerphatalkThe Improver 15:28, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Oh, and unlike the other scrolls, it has no value, and cannot be found as loot, accordingly my assumption is correct. I'll go ahead and edit the page. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 15:33, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

Bug in EXP-Bonus while using in HM???[edit]

I not sure if this belongs here, but i bin asking myself this question now for a long time. I noticed a veriation in the Exp gained while under the effect of different scrolls. Most of the time i use these scrolls:

Scroll of Adventurer's Insight; Scroll of Hero's Insight ;Scroll of the Lightbringer

During the time i spent on achieving the survivor-title i killed most mobs in HM and their level was 26. Knowing i get 200 EXP / creature and a bonus of 50% for HM i thought i could get 900 EXP per kill. Now heres my problem/ the probable bug:

  1. Scroll of Adventurer's Insight earns me 450 EXP which would indicate ( 200 EXP * 1,5 [Scroll] ) * 1,5 [HM]
  2. Scroll of Hero's Insight earns me 600 EXP which would also indicate ( 200 EXP * 2 [Scroll] ) * 1,5 [HM]
  3. Scroll of the Lightbringer earns me only 700 EXP which is really odd, because the formula for this would be ( 200 EXP * ( 3 [Scroll] + 0,5 [HM] ) )

The last formula seems to be the right on for the Scroll of Berserker's Insight too. I have read, that the multipliers for EXP are added together before being multiplied with the EXP. That would make the last formula the right one, however that would make the first two wrong. Can anybody confirme my report or at least tell me what i've missed? --Snakes Shadow 15:15, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

I have a similar problem with the sunspear blessings that double the EXP and the Scroll of Berserker's Insight: Instead of 5*48=240 EXP, I get 168. That is a multiplier of 3.5 and not 5. So it would be something like: 1+(Scroll + Blessing)/2.

With 16 EXP per kill:

  1. Scroll of Adventurer's Insight earns me 48 EXP which would indicate ( 16 EXP * 1,5 [Scroll] ) * 2 [Blessing]
  2. Scroll of Hero's Insight earns me 56 EXP which would indicate 16 EXP * (2 [Scroll] + 1,5 [Blessing])
  3. Scroll of Berserker's Insight earns me only 56 EXP. The same as the double EXP scroll!

So the only believable result is the first one. The others are just wrong.

Do pets benefit from this too?[edit]

Or is it just exclusively party members?

I beleive its only party members, npcs and pets do not benefit. --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 10:36, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

During Quests[edit]

if you're under the influence of one of these, are quest rewards doubled also? 98.148.16.22 07:43, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

They only affect experience earned in combat, it's mentioned in each scroll's description in-game. Mediggo 09:25, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
I think this should be mentioned in the main article. 98.124.14.92 22:39, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

look at scrolls now[edit]

I just noticed all my scrolls say it can be used in the typical places but they also have on them Embark Beach as well. We just tried them on different characters that have/haven't been to the specific elite missions and that are or are not weh no su/ascended etc. Anyone know if this is going to be added or when specifically it WAS added? Dervish-tango-icon-20.pngDevi Talk 20:12, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

Not sure when it was changed. It's likely that the language changes of an unfinished feature slipped onto their live servers. It has happened before, revealing the survivor changes early.
Maybe someday they'll start working in embark beach (expect to read about it in the update notes), maybe they've scrapped the feature, we don't know. I've edited the article to clarify. Tub 20:21, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
Didn't take them too long to fix it yaya!Dervish-tango-icon-20.pngDevi Talk 13:07, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Non-stacking[edit]

Should it be mentioned somewhere that experience scrolls effects do not stack and replace each other if you use them? I have (stupidly) tried this with Berserker's Insight and had a bunch of Rampager's to waste too, and it just replaced the good effect with the crappy one. It's already there. "The effect remains active until the duration expires, a new scroll is activated, or the party changes zones." Tub 12:42, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
