Auron_Bushi: So do these things not grow? I remember when my war first got his Warthog it was the perfect pet for a warrior with platemail armor plus at the time they where telling up that it did blunt damage which has it's advantages in PVE (golems drop like, well rocks) but i never noticed a change in it's size.

They do get bigger, unless you raise it so it doesn't evolve. - 144.226.230.37 13:42, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

--> I just picked up a warthog on Plains of Jarin. I'm level 5, no tricks. So is the hog (not level 2).--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:122.108.124.65 (talk).

Arent you able to do that anytime easily? Oh wait, didn't see that Aberrant changed the page. — Eloc 15:09, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

What does "Most loyal animal companion. " mean?[edit]

It doesn't sound like anything meaningful, so could someone elaborate? ThomasOwens 22:27, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

So what is it, blunt or piercing?[edit]

The table on the Animal companion page says that they do blunt damage, this one says they do piercing and then slashing. One of the two must be incorrect... 66.66.144.147 13:07, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

My apologies, I wrote the wrong information. Correcting it now. Blood Red Giant 14:42, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
I did not even know pets could do different damage other than slashing/piercing. :P
Does this make Warthog special? STOP! HAMMERTIME!! xD
Has this info been double-checked yet? --NIN37 14:55, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
I have personally checked that the warthog does not do slashing damage when unevolved, unlike its evolved counterparts. And apparently Jenosavel and Epinephrine have determined in the past that the unevolved warthog does not deal slashing, piercing, or elemental damage. So at this point we are assuming Silavor is not lying in his dialogue when he states "Warthogs begin fighting with blunt little snouts." Blood Red Giant 15:20, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, that helps a lot! Makes me way more likely to choose a warthog, just because of the specialfullness, if you know what I mean. Also blunt is good. Oh, and that was me at the IP up there. Before I made an account. So, thanks. Green Arrow 18:13, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

invincible?[edit]

i read somewhere a year ago or so that these never died and i was wonderin if they nerfed it before i give up my bear to test it --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.136.183.135 (talk).

Pre-searing warthogs[edit]

OK, so where is this Pre-Searing warthog?

I wander around Lakeside County, and I don't see any warthogs. I see bandits, grawl, skale, Ascalonian townsfolk, Plague worms, collectors, devourers, tc., but no warthogs.

What have I missed? Cynique 10:55, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

The warthogs. -Auron 10:51, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
Well, duh.Cynique 10:55, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
warthogs are mainly in the north lands 127.0.0.1 12:08, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
Auron is a fucking idiot. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.96.99.140 (talk).
Clearly Auron isn't very useful. Nice contribution there, stand up user you are Mr Final Fantasy. The warthogs in Lakeside County are just to the right of the Ashford Abbey exit on your way to Wizard's Folley. They are in the middle of the village and are called Prize-Winning Hogs. You can't tame them though. The only tamable Warthogs in pre-searing are across the wall in The Northlands. They are found to the left of the entrance around the lake/pond. 122.105.106.192 13:38, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
"Clearly Auron isn't very useful. - 122.105.106.192 " .. That just made my day,Thanks! --Neil2250 User Neil2250 sig icon6.png 13:45, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
Erm, warthogs are right outside of Ascalon City unless they were moved. -~=Ϛρѧякγ User Sparky, the Tainted guided sig.png (τѧιк) 23:22, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
It seems they were moved, as I've been out there many times and there are no (charmable) warthogs there, unless you mean out the back in the Northlands. 91.212.116.2 13:50, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
They are only out there (by the Actor's Stage) sometimes. If not, there is a Strider instead, or maybe nothing. Cynique 19:43, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
But (duh) I finally found one south of The Wall. Between the Actor's Stage and the Rogue Bull pond. Sometimes. Cynique 15:26, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Pre-searing warthogs death level?[edit]

Can someone explain how to death level one in pre searing :) I tried to get the one in lakeside county to a res shrine but it won't pull no matter what I've tried! All the old charr death level tricks don't seem to work :( The only thing I haven't done is over the wall, kill the npc's at the res shrine with some charr and then lure a hog to death level. T1Cybernetic User T1Cybernetic Glob of Ectoplasm.png 16:53, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

The one that appears near rogue-bull pond in Lakeside doesn't seem to like traveling too far. (I've tried letting it snipe at my heals in every direction, but it turns back at the pond's edge, just past the stage, or before nearing The Wall.) However, I'm reasonable sure that ppls have DL'd the hog in the Northlands successfully. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 17:29, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
Cheers ;) I've tried all day different approaches but nothing gets that hog down to the shrine, I think I might have to stay there for a few hours and babysit that one or just do the one over the wall which I have managed to get to the shrine after a few rezones and a few charr pulls to finish those npc's at the doorway :) If I think of anything else that works I will keep you posted.
