Template talk:Location disambiguation
This works with the assumption that Location name (without any disambig identifiers) is a mission, and adds the rest on top. I did another variation using {{switch}} and type=mission/outpost/explorable, instead of the current {{ifeq}}, so as to allow more flexibility in choosing names... but then I snapped back to reality and read the title of the template, "location disambiguation". So I think this should cover everything that needs a disambiguation. It's 3 a.m. right now, so I might be oblivious of some incredibly obvious mistake, in which case, apologies in advance. :) --Dirigible 03:29, 16 April 2007 (EDT)
Looks great to me, Rezyk. A few hundred times more efficient and cleaner than my version. :) --Dirigible 21:38, 17 April 2007 (EDT)

- Should we {{ifexists}} the template to avoid the creation of red links at special:wanted pages? It keeps working fine on the pages it is used, but it will break a little the display in this page since no parameter is given for the check and i didn't find a way to avoid it.--Fighterdoken 07:34, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Quest disambiguation[edit]
How do you indicate disambiguation for a quest? The current template is only for Missions/Outpost/Explorable. In particular I'm trying to disambiguate Heart of the Shiverpeaks which is both a dungeon/explorable area and a quest. Luke1138 00:07, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- Just use {{Otheruses}}. -- Gordon Ecker (talk)
Bug (Mission article)[edit]
Template seems to become bugged when there's an apostrophe in Mission's name (eg: D'Alessio Seaboard, The Dragon's Lair and Minister_Cho's_Estate).
Mission/Outpost that doesn't have a corresponding Explorable Area seems to use "Template:Mission outpost link" to avoid this (or that's just because at the time they were created there was no need to link to both the Outpost and the Explorable Area). :)
Since "Template:Location disambiguation" is supposed to cover every Mission/Outpost/Eplorable Area that shares same name (except for that couple of 2-party Missions from Factions?), shouldn't we replace "Mission outpost link" to "Location disambiguation" from other Mission/Outpost articles just for the sake of making them share same standard? Sure, not before this little bug is fixed. :P --NIN37 18:01, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
- I can't see any bug. It seems to work as intended. As for other templates, sure, things just weren't too organised when gthe wiki was new, so conflicting templates may well have been used. Not changing is mostly a case of not caring enough. Backsword 20:12, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
- Take 1st and 2nd Faction missions (Shing Jea Island) for example:
- Minister Cho's Estate says: This is a location entry.
- Zen Daijun says: This is a mission entry.
- Both use same template and have same mission/outpost/explorable structure.--NIN37 03:29, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm, yes. Seems to be new, due to a version upgrade changing the parser. Not much we can do about that, I guess you'll just have to manually override. Backsword 20:57, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
- According to Minister's Cho's Estate's talk page, this bug is online since at least July.
- Gonna change Prophecies pages later, if no one does that first. --NIN37 23:14, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
