Vanquishing / Guardian Builds[edit]

Here are a few vanquishing team builds I've been using with my assassin. All hero/henched so far.

4-man Shing Jea island[edit]

For a really easy vanquishing of the 4-man areas of Shing Jea island (may not be ideal, but it worked quite well for me -- dazed helps immensely). I'm not sure if Dunkoro ever uses Signet of Devotion, but he loves Signet of Synergy, and a 128-point total heal for no energy isn't bad at all.

Me (13 Crit, 13 DM, 9 SA):

Critical Agility.jpg
Jagged Strike.jpg
Wild Strike.jpg
Critical Strike.jpg
Death Blossom.jpg
Golden Skull Strike.jpg
Shroud of Distress.jpg
Sunspear Rebirth Signet.jpg

Koss (16 Sword, 11 Tact, 8 Str):

Quivering Blade.jpg
Plague Touch.jpg
Gash.jpg
Distracting Blow.jpg
Deadly Riposte.jpg
"Watch Yourself!".jpg
"Shields Up!".jpg
Resurrection Signet.jpg

Olias (16 Death, 11 SR, 8 Insp):

Animate Flesh Golem.jpg
Signet of Lost Souls.jpg
Animate Bone Fiend.jpg
Animate Bone Horror.jpg
Blood of the Master.jpg
Leech Signet.jpg
Power Drain.jpg
Resurrection Signet.jpg

Dunkoro (14 Heal, 12 Div, 6 Mot):

Orison of Healing.jpg
Light of Deliverance.jpg
Dwayna's Kiss.jpg
Words of Comfort.jpg
Signet of Devotion.jpg
Mend Ailment.jpg
Signet of Synergy.jpg
Resurrect.jpg

I also used this with success for The Great Northern Wall and Fort Ranik (subtituting the Jagged Bones build for Olias), but it fell apart in Ruins of Surmia, with the Fire Callers. I'm thinking I need

  • Better interrupts
  • Anti-knockdown
  • Better armor against fire damage
  • A Flesh Golem

Maybe something like this: Me (13 Crit, 13 DM, 9 SA):

Critical Agility.jpg
Golden Fox Strike.jpg
Wild Strike.jpg
Critical Strike.jpg
Death Blossom.jpg
Beguiling Haze.jpg
Balanced Stance.jpg
Sunspear Rebirth Signet.jpg

Koss (16 Sword, 11 Tact, 8 Str):

Cleave.jpg
Dismember.jpg
Cyclone Axe.jpg
Distracting Blow.jpg
Balanced Stance.jpg
"Watch Yourself!".jpg
"Shields Up!".jpg
Resurrection Signet.jpg

Olias (16 Death, 11 SR, 8 Insp):

Animate Flesh Golem.jpg
Signet of Lost Souls.jpg
Animate Bone Fiend.jpg
Animate Bone Horror.jpg
Blood of the Master.jpg
Leech Signet.jpg
Power Drain.jpg
Resurrection Signet.jpg

Dunkoro (14 Heal, 12 Div, 6 Insp):

Ethereal Light.jpg
Light of Deliverance.jpg
Signet of Rejuvenation.jpg
Healing Whisper.jpg
Power Drain.jpg
Holy Haste.jpg
Mantra of Flame.jpg
Rebirth.jpg

6-man Shing Jea island[edit]

For easy vanquishing of the 6-man areas of Shing Jea island. I got the hero builds from the GWGuru forums. Tin Dao Kaineng will wipe your party unless you use all of your flags to spread out your henchmen, but he's not a problem once you daze him. I used the warrior and monk hench.

Me (13 Crit, 13 DM, 9 SA):

Critical Agility.jpg
Jagged Strike.jpg
Wild Strike.jpg
Critical Strike.jpg
Death Blossom.jpg
Golden Skull Strike.jpg
Shroud of Distress.jpg
Sunspear Rebirth Signet.jpg

Razah (14 Chan, 11 SP, 9 Rest):

Signet of Spirits.jpg
Essence Strike.jpg
Destruction.jpg
Bloodsong.jpg
Ancestors' Rage.jpg
Splinter Weapon.jpg
Flesh of My Flesh.jpg
Life.jpg

Olias (16 Death, 13 SR, 3 Blood):

Jagged Bones.jpg
Animate Shambling Horror.jpg
Animate Bone Fiend.jpg
Blood of the Master.jpg
Taste of Death.jpg
Dark Bond.jpg
Signet of Lost Souls.jpg
Flesh of My Flesh.jpg

Norgu (14 Insp, 12 Illus, 7 FC):

Power Leech.jpg
Power Drain.jpg
Leech Signet.jpg
Hex Eater Signet.jpg
Mantra of Inscriptions.jpg
Images of Remorse.jpg
Clumsiness.jpg
Resurrection Signet.jpg

Kaineng[edit]

So far I've vanquished Bukdek Byway, Xaquang Skyway, and Nahpui Quarter. The most notable problem here is the lack of a protection monk. I run Tahlkora with this build, she seems to run it quite well:

14 Prot, 13 Div:

Reversal of Fortune.jpg
Dismiss Condition.jpg
Zealous Benediction.jpg
Protective Spirit.jpg
Glyph of Lesser Energy.jpg
Aegis.jpg
Shield of Absorption.jpg
Resurrect.jpg

I take Olias with the Jagged Bones build above. I used Norgu with the same build as above with success in Bukdek Byway and Nahpui Quarter, but switched to a BHA ranger to keep Orosen, Tranquil Acolyte dazed longer in Xaquang Skyway:

13 Mark, 10 Exp, 12 WS:

Broad Head Arrow.jpg
Distracting Shot.jpg
Savage Shot.jpg
Healing Spring.jpg
Troll Unguent.jpg
Read the Wind.jpg
Antidote Signet.jpg
Resurrection Signet.jpg

I use the same assassin build as above, and take the healer hench, Talon, Kai Ying, and Eve. Careful positioning helps avoid too much dragon stomp damage.
