I figured I'd do another quick update here. It IS the new year already, and I haven't posted in a while. As a random observation, it looks like I get my "oh no I need to post on my journal" conscience attacks on Wednesdays. Hm. Wonder why that is? XD
- As far as upcoming stuff goes, I sadly don't have a lot that I'm really able to share. I think it's safe to mention that all of the hard work you guys have been doing on the wikis is really incredible, and that the sites are critical parts of our future plans. Yeah, I know that's really random and vague, but I wanted to make sure you guys all know that we're fully behind the sites and that I've been saying the word "wiki" quite a bit. In many meetings. So thank you all for kicking butt...keep it up. Even though our visible activity here may fade in and out, I promise you that we're still pay attention and that all of your work is genuinely appreciated and incredibly important to us. For reals.
- Again, as a reminder...even when I don't appear to be active, I DO check my talk page and other pages like bug reports/RFTA. If you guys run into any funkiness on the site, or have tech requests for me to pass along, please keep posting them. If I seem to be spacing out, it's probably because I've been eaten by the meeting monster. For urgent wiki things, don't forget that you can use the "Email user" link on the sidebar over there ←. Please be respectful of doing this, though. I'd like to keep emails sent through that channel to pure technical wiki business only. For community-related topics, Martin and Regina will be able to give you a hand. For support-related topics, Gaile will be able to help you out. For general "hey what's up" kind of stuff, my talk page is best :)
- I'm going to be allocating some time this week to knock out some of the requested renders, so keep an eye out for those as I trickle them out to ya. I'm sorry I've been unable to do as many as I used to. They're pretty time consuming, so I have to wedge them between other things (or do them late at night).
- In kind-of-non-work-related-news, the past few months have been insane! In addition to being (happily) busy:
- I've moved my desk several times, and am now once again nested in my very first seat. This used to be the old systems design room, so it's weird (but cool) to be back in here with a whole different crew. There's an owl that likes to hang outside of our window, so Dave (our awesome web writer) and I get to watch him watch us. It's rad.
- Lins bought me a bunch of new fish for my tank a little before the holidays, since the only guys left were Vorhees (one of my original bleeding heart tetras), Walter (one of my original cory catfish), and Whiskers (another one of my older catfish). Over break, chaos ensued and things went horribly wrong. Long story short, everyone pretty much ate each other. So now I'm down to a few suckers and some stripey tetras (can't remember the species). I came back to find Whiskers' little skull resting sadly under his favorite log. Bummer! Fishes are vicious (vishes fishes, ha...this is why I needed a writer).
OK, enough random from me. Have a great night, all!
