Particular skills to use when Monk SECONDARY[edit]
Upkeep Enchantments / Bonds[edit]
Why are bonds interesting for this team comp?[edit]
- Answer: By maintaining them on multiple targets, a single skill allows the user to spend a lot of energy, just using a single slot.
- This can for example be used by Dervishes (disproportionally empowered by Mysticism), since they can fill their entire bar with Dervish Enchantments (that are basically free due to 80% reduction from mysticism) and then GAIN energy whenever those enchantments end, due to
- This can also be useful for Necromancers, due to the extreme energy provided by rank 20 soul reaping. At the time of writing, A contagion necromancer seems very powerful (due to several reason discussed on the Necro page), and this build can have an extreme amount of surplus energy.
- It can also be useful for Keystone Signet Mesmers; Keystone Signet is great when you have lots of signets, but the signets themselves cost no energy. At the same time, many upkeep enchantment has a casting time of 2s and low recharge time, making them affected by fast casting.
- ADDITIONALLY: Upkeep enchantments are convenient when using Tranquility (65% decrease) since it has no negative impact on the upkeep enchantments, while destroying other enchantments for the opponent (and benefitting the dervish(es).
Interesting Upkeep Enchantments[edit]
- Most interesting
- Life Bond - GREAT for several reasons (1) It provides great protection, especially if using Tranqulity, causing most other protection enchantments to be invonvenient. (2) It allows the user to trigger skills like Seed of Life, Healing Hands, or Balthazar's Spirit frequently.
- Protective Bond - EPIC if you have very high energy, and is DISPROP due to its energy loss being decreased by higher attributes.
- Balthazar's Spirit or Essence Bond - Great SYNERGY with Protective Bond, since this skill helps to MITIGATE the lost energy. Also, in the case of Balthazar's Spirit, it might have great synergy with the DERVISH, since the fastest way for the derv to get rid of enchantments is with an teardown that costs adrenaline (e.g wearying scythe), and Balthazar's Spirit grants adrenaline. UNVERIFIED: I have some vague memory that balthazar's spirit grants 1/25 adrenaline for EACH investment in Smiting Prayers. If this is the case (and it grants energy even if the dmg is 0 as the page indicates) it would be EPIC for the adrenaline management.
- Strength of Honor - Epic for certain roles, in particular assassins.
- Vital Blessing - Has some good synergy with the AoD healing, as WELL as AoE protection skills used by the paragon such as "Save Yourselves", "There is nothing to Fear" and "They're on Fire"; The increased Health makes it more likely for AoD to heal, since the target will be less likely to be healed to full health, and it stacks multiplicatively with damage reduction.

- Succor - As pointed out in the energy management page, ANY skill that grants energy is disprop (and can be considered EXPONENTIAL disprop if combined with sources that reduce energy, e.g expertise), and this skill can grant energy to allies.

- 12-13 Divine Favor --> Nice because high divine favor synergizes with spamming skills repeatedly.

- Healing Seed - Good since this adds some protection. However this has BAD synergy when multiple party members use block (eg Weapon of Warding, Attacker's Insight, and Guardian).
- Spotless Mind + Spotless Mind - already great.
- Note: A SEPARATE build should focus on Blessed Aura synergy since this is massive..
- Gift of Health - Very DISPROP; however i suspect it is inferior when using both Patient Spirit and Dwayna's Kiss, since they together can take up most of the casting time.

- Dwayna's Kiss - EPIC if the party has a dervish, since dervishes typically have 4-5 enchantments on them.
- Cure Hex - General good skill. Synergy w Healer's Covenant.

- Ethereal Light - Nice because it allows some more constant healing.
- Dwayna's Sorrow - Nice if having tons of minions. It is noteworthy that the first team setup already has insane AoE heals, but this is an opportunity hard to say no to.
