Video[edit]
Kurd, I really don't think it is appropriate to have a link to a video of people getting hit by cars and being run over. Would you mind removing it? -- Scourge 02:03, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
- But but there only arabs jeez, but ok let me find a new one and I'll replace it ~ Kurd 19:30, 7 July 2007 (UTC)
Guide to modding gw[edit]
I added that note about the numpad on laptops because enough people are asking in the various threads about how they access it on laptops, and I though that note would help to lower the questions. --Omens 12:50, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
- You put it under the TexMod Manual section which i copied from the Readme file in the zip. I moved it to the notes section, people should see it there ~ Kurd 15:17, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks[edit]
For doing the checking on List of Nightfall missions - that's all I was looking for, was a verification that nothing was going to come back later to bite the page in the rear. (Aiiane - talk - contribs) 20:11, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Question[edit]
Kurd, could you explain to me what this comment is support to mean?
- Karlos... You talk way too much for a Arab, not use too
As far as I can see that adds absolutely nothing to the discussion and it simply a personal attack. GWW:NPA states that:
- Racial, sexual, homophobic, ageist, religious, political, or ethnic epithets directed against another contributor. Disagreement over what constitutes a religion, race, sexual preference, or ethnicity is not a legitimate excuse.
Which is why I'm asking you to explain the comment. --Xasxas256 13:51, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- Xasxas256 if you read above I think he has a problem with Arabs, no idea why though: "But but there only arabs jeez" -- Scourge 13:54, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- Wha?? i got now problems with arabs, i speak arabic and have arabic relatives, nothing against them, there my ethnic brother's. Karlos knows not to take it seriously every Arab knows ~ Kurd 13:59, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't accuse you of anything, I simply asked for an explanation. The problem is that telling an Arab friend an Arab joke might be totally OK with them but to someone overhearing it, it might be incredibly offensive. This wiki is a publicly viewable and people don't know you and you don't know who's going to read your comments. This is why there is a policy against "racial, sexual, homophobic, ageist, religious, political, or ethnic epithets." Just remember to be careful in regards to that policy in future, thanks. --Xasxas256 14:09, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- Lakavalika!=Yes sir ~ Kurd 14:11, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
- A while ago when I started a job they had all that acceptable workplace environment stuff and my boss gave an example along the lines of, "say your girlfriend happens to work with you and you say to her, 'are you going to ride the bus back to your place or do you want to come back to my place and ride me instead?' Even though your girlfriend may be stupid enough to think that's cute, anyone who overhears that is going to think a) you're an idiot and b) I'm going to sue this guy and this company for making this a hostile workplace. And that's why this acceptable workplace environment policy is important!" I mean it seemed like an extreme example but hey, it got my attention! PC may go overboard sometimes but I can see the reasoning behind it. --Xasxas256 14:20, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Peshmarga[edit]
Redirects to peshmerga, btw. And that article makes my wiki-self cringe for various reasons. You should go over there and clean it up =P --Xeeron 09:54, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- It depends on where you grow up, E or A doesn't really, matter. And the article seems right, dunno what to change.
- Just remember the line: Because the livestock is slow in movement and women, children and elderly people cannot escape or climb the mountains quickly enough to avoid being killed by attacking forces, some stronger young men from the tribe used to stay behind and fight the attacking forces till death.
- For Kurds, There is no better glory than to die for your fatherland. ~ Kurd 10:22, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- Come on, there are about 10 ugly "expand this section" tags cluttering it, the article is much to long (the history part should go into "history of peshmerga fighters" or something), the introduction about the name reads switches from present to past tense and all that is without even discussing the actual content ;-) --Xeeron 11:24, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
Kurd-ish Propaganda[edit]
Kurd, I respect your contributions here. I think you are a very helpful and valuable person for this Wiki. I would even think you -could- have been an Admin candidate. But I absolutely have to agree with Xeeron. It is not only the Peshmarga stuff. Your name, Kurd, your icon the kurdish coat of arms. WTF? Seriously, reading "there is no better glory than to die for your fatherland" and stuff like that are not questionable, they are outright nationalist in the worst way. I know a lot of kurdish people myself who have to live together with turkish citizens, and while I know really sympathize with the cause, the near terrorist way and the outright propaganda to promote this issue EVERYWHERE, including Wikis, is something that cannot be allowed. --Longasc 08:11, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- So what you want from me? ~ Kurd 09:48, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- I think he wants your to remove it. -- Scourge 09:55, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- No way, i like the eagle, and the sun and the other sun and other 2 sun's, and the on in my sig ~ Kurd 09:58, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- It is not a matter of what you like and what not. It has no place on this and any other kind of Wiki, not even on your userpage. You for sure have a homepage, but your blatant nationalist attitudes do not belong neither on your userpage nor in your sig. --Longasc 10:28, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- I would never had thought the sun and the eagle would be nationalist propaganda if you hadn't pointed it out as such, Longasc. I personally think Kurd has every right to have those images on his page, just as I have the right to show the swedish flag on my page. As long as his sig doesn't contain "This is the way to think and all other ways should be killed", I don't see the problem. - anja 10:53, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- What Anja said. Just so there are no misunderstandings: My problems with the wikipedia peshmerga article are that it is a bad article, not the fact that peshmerga exist. --Xeeron 11:15, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- Please see the user talk of User_talk:Dirigible, I am quite opposed to the abuse of personal freedom for open display of nationalist interests on a Wiki, also check Kurd's userpage and talk, it is not limited to a mere symbol. --Longasc 11:18, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- And why is the sig icon suddenly the SUN only, I got aware of this as I saw the kurdish "GREY EAGLE" in the signature of Kurd on a talk page. --Longasc 11:41, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- What is that question about? Are you complaining that his signature uses less "nationalistic" (as you call them) images now?? --Xeeron 12:09, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- While I personally do see where you're coming from, Longasc, and to a certain degree share with you the worry that these kinds of passionate issues can end up in unnecessary conflicts, I honestly don't think that's the case here. His signature and the icons on his userpage, I personally see them more as identification symbols than propaganda ones, an expression of who he considers himself to be. The userpage policy currently forbids "material patently offensive to others", but I don't think that anything on Kurd's userspace is even close to falling under that label.
- If there's one thing that probably could use some toning down, that's comments towards other ethnic groups, Kurd (specifically referring to the way "Arab" was used in the sections Video and Question above). I do realise Xas already mentioned that, and also do realise that you didn't mean it maliciously, maybe even jokingly, but to a random passerby (i.e. Longasc or me) both those statements seem a bit on the negative side. Basically, lets try to keep the atmosphere as non-hostile as possible for everyone, at least as far as non-wiki related issues are concerned; we all have enough disagreements regarding policies and guidelines to make us want to claw each other's eyes out, it'd be great if we could avoid adding even more to that. :) --Dirigible 12:21, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- Let me explain again. He even has the referendum in Kirkuk in November 2007 mentioned on his page. Please read Dirigible's talk where I explain that this form of political statement got out of hand. Kurd is VERY mild indeed, in comparison to other pages of kurdish propaganda. They feel very strongly about this issue, and while I sympathize with a kurdish state and whatever, the constant tries to abuse freedom of speech to make propaganda for their case wherever they can got out of hand. Kurd follows the scheme. Talk about Kurdistan whenever you can, heck, even name yourself "Kurd". YOU might not know about it, and we do not seem to have users besides me that actually CARE about it. Are you not already an admin, or am I wrong? You should care about that. This kind of promotion, propaganda, political statements and whatever, even on user pages, is a constant source of problems on Wikipedia, because people have all rights to voice their opinions, but this is not in the interest of any Wiki, and such hardly veiled propaganda now gets removed by standard up to a ban of users who cannot stop it. It seems as if GWW does not have any of these guidelines, so I hope admins think a bit more about it. Nobody can tell me this user did not do all this without this rather questionable intention, not so much out of just being proud to be a kurd or whatever. - I see Dirigble just answered, seems as if nobody else sees this as a problem besides me, oh well. :( --Longasc 12:36, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

- Good, I think I was too excited and overly negative in my reaction. I experienced a lot of trouble on the German Wikipedia and in my own neighbourhood regarding this issue and was afraid it could happen here, too. I need to apologize as you are a kind person indeed. --Longasc 16:20, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
