Projects

How is your content any better than sexual content? Oh, it isn't? Damn, I was going to try to agree with you there for a second but I got lost and ran into a wall of logic.

The difference between offensive and non-offensive content is superficial. People get offended by too much; that's their problem. Their being offended gives them no right to ban content from other people's userspace. Either the content belongs or it doesn't belong. Problem not solved, as I have stated many, many, many, many times; we have no idea the age of each user on this wiki. We could have 3 year olds on here, you and I have no idea. My point is that because we do not know the ages of users; we could be exposing minors to sexual content which is a legal matter that has the potential to get this wiki shut down (very doubtful, but still a chance). Secondly, being underage is against the EULA. If they aren't at least 13 years old (T for Teen), why are they playing Guild Wars in the first place - and why would they be on this wiki for said game? If we were to abide strictly by the EULA, as you are suggesting, we would ban all underage users - because they are violating the EULA. "Underage" means "under age." If 13 is the age required to play Guild Wars, "underage" in this context means 12 or younger. I don't believe I've used "minor," so I don't know where that came from. -Auron 21:33, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Shadow, I don't see what your problem with this is. EULA forbids under-thirteen-year-olds from playing. Common sense dictates you don't read a wiki for a game you don't play (unless maybe you're considering buying, in which case you'd be 13 or over). I doubt any thirteen year olds or over will run screaming for mommy because there was a swear or mention of sex (at which point I would guess said teenager would read the sex story). And I doubt a parent will want to sue Anet until they need loans to use the bathroom because of swears, because swears are perfectly legal. Sex stories? I hate lower end pvp even more than HA. At least HA gets the occasional balance change, stuff stays broken in RA/TA forever. It takes a lot of effort to gain my respect. If you don't have it, spending time around me usually just annoys me. If I don't like someone to begin with, they're pretty much never going to gain that respect; but I can stand most people. If we had to coordinate something for a wiki project, I'd put up with you until the end, but I wouldn't go out of my way to be friendly. Have to agree with Ryudo. in the past I've disagreed with Auron, but he is always honest and too the point and ultimately he does have a strong belief in equality and fairness on the wiki and he does have a very valid point about the current events on the wiki.
