User talk:Emily Diehl/Guild Wars website 2
Some website issues
I've been working on an update of the GuildWarsGuru.com site content, and in doing so have come up one fansite link that is no longer functional GW Cartographer. I also think a link to Linsey's interview with Kill Ten Rats should be added to the Online Interviews section. Whenever you have time of course :D -- Wyn/talk 09:03, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks Wyn! I'll make a sticky of this stuff and update it when I get a chance. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 20:30, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
- Heya Wyn! I removed the dead Cartographer link from the fansite page. The interviews page seems to be missing a lot of interviews, and could use some help. I'll talk to Regina about it and update it soon. Thanks for the heads up about this stuff! -- Emily Diehl (talk) 03:13, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
Missing Link on GuildWars.com
Emily, on GuildWars.com they are missing a link to the English Euro site. There's not a clear way to get to it from the homepage. If the english speaking euro's happen to know the link: http://eu.guildwars.com/ it's fine. But I was reflecting on this when the London GW Community Day was announced and how many may have missed out on that since there is no direct link to the english Euro site from the GuildWars.com homepage. - Hiya Inde! Thanks for the feedback. I've opened the discussion with the team, so we'll check into this for you. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 21:16, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
- Heya Inde...just wanted to pop in and say that this has been pushed live. Thanks for the suggestion :) -- Emily Diehl (talk) 02:53, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
Spelling error on support site
Just wanted to bring this to your attention Emily, not sure if your the right person because it's on NCsofts site but here is the link: http://help.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin/ncsoft.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=7141&p_created=1240510612
- The spelling error is on the 5th checknote, it says "PLEASE DOULBE CHECK YOUR NEW CHARACTER NAME THAT YOU ENTERED.", that is all! Have a great day :D--'ÑöẊĭƑý 23:51, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
- Heya Noxify! Thanks for the heads up! I don't manage these sites, but I can pass the feedback on to the team that does. Which I'll do right now :) -- Emily Diehl (talk) 18:29, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
Guild Wars Japanese Website
Emily, I don't know if you handle this or not but it seems that a good number of people can't access the Japanese website for Guild Wars. Coming from various countries and areas in the United States. Reference thread here: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10385881 I'm just curious as to why this may be or if it's a known issue. Thanks! Inde 12:19, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks Inde! I passed this feedback along to the Japanese team yesterday, so they will be looking into it for us. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 00:28, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
It's Live
Thank You so much for how active you remained in setting this up and addressing timely questions ...even while your offices kept getting nailed with flu bugs and whatever else. (I just picture Anet's like this huge adult-sized Kindergarten room b/c everyone's gotten sick a couple times this year). --ilr 20:07, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- No problem Ilr :) I'm glad the space is finally open and ready! And yeah, when the flu goes around the office, it GOES AROUND. I think it's because we have a self contained ventilation system, so germs just circle. People that are more susceptible to getting sick often get hit multiple times every season. Unfortunately, I'm one of the germ magnets so I fall under that category. =P -- Emily Diehl (talk) 21:13, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- I can see it now...GW2's production comes to a hault due to Swine Flu epidemic. ^^" Katherinezoltin 01:08, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Halloween 2009
In the upper right box, the name of an elonian outpost ist spelled wrong. It reads "Kodlanu Hamlet" and not "Kodlonu Hamlet". Hope you can fix it in time ;) Ɲoɕʈɋɽɕɧ 09:20, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks Noctarch :) I fixed it and will push it live shortly. For some reason my brain always flips those letters XD -- Emily Diehl (talk) 22:35, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
French GW www, dead link
Hi Emily,
I'm not sure if you're the right person to ask for fixing this problem, but I thought I'd start here. There's a dead link "Guild Paradise" in the list of French GW fansites:
http://fr.guildwars.com/community/category/listing/fansites/
Thanks!
- Heya Fril! Yep, I can take care of this. Thanks for pointing it out! I'll fix it tonight :) -- Emily Diehl (talk) 02:50, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Website
Hey there, the screenshots link under the "hot links" of the players page is broken. Also, on the fansite page, Crossing Tyria is dead and "Guild Wars @ GameAmp" seems now irrelevant. — PmaN 03:37, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
- There's also a link in several locations here that no longer works. Note, this only occurs if you use the secure https, and not http (if you use http you get the "down for extended maintenance" page). -- FreedomBound 18:56, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
FAQ's on guildwars2.com
Hi Emily - just a note about the FAQ's on the GW2 site, you may already be aware of this though - the context of some of the responses to the questions in the FAQ is now outdated. An example is the response to the "when will more information be released" question. I know it's not overly important and likely isn't a priority but, I figured I'd mention it just the same. Thanks! 24.188.207.20 01:29, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks :) I'll take a look at this! -- Emily Diehl (talk) 19:31, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
- I think in particular, the I.P. is referring to:
"We will reveal more about gameplay early next year." --ilr 20:25, 10 February 2010 (UTC)- That was one of the things I was referring to. Most of them seemed minor but, it was clear that it was written in the past as at least of the the answers stated that "information about races will be released later this year" or something to the effect, and we already have that information. I haven't looked at this since I posted originally here and dont know if it's resolved but, please let me know if you'd like me to take a look and provide specifics. 24.188.207.20 00:51, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

FTP
- → moved from Feedback talk:Regina Buenaobra
There are many dead links on the official page since ftp.guildwars.com isn't anymore for some months. --numma_cway 14:05, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
- Tell Emily, she's in charge of the website stuff. I think. –Jette 09:19, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- I posted it here because Regina has an archive for website-related questions. Emily only says that she is responsible for the wiki and special website projects. I also think she's busy. --numma_cway 19:58, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
- No, Emily is the person you should be talking to about anything related to gw.com. -- Wyn talk 06:41, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Hi guys! Our FTP is still active, and I'm able to access files hosted on it from here. Can you provide me with some examples of broken links so I can check out individual cases? It's possible it may be a different issue. Thanks :) -- Emily Diehl (talk) 00:07, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
- First couldn't access the ftp server, got the "server not found" page when I used Dutch as language setting in Firefox, changed the language setting to English and now it works. Weird thing is when I changed it back to Dutch it still worked and i'm 100% sure that that was the only thing I changed.
- I still couldn't access the ftp with IE8. Saved the settings by changing my homepage in IE8 to and it worked.
- Numma cway try saving the settings and connect to the ftp when you have done that, you might have to disable and enable something to be able to save the settings. It worked for me, I have no idea why, it just did.
- I always try things like this incase an update for IE8 and/or Firefox "messed" things up, saving the settings just replaces the old settings with the new ones. Sometimes it's just a conflict with the old settings not beeing "compatible" with the newer version of the explorer.
- I hope this helped. -- Qaletaqa Hania 02:45, 5 February 2010 (UTC)
- There seems to be a nameserver problem, since sometimes you don't get anything but the CNAME resouece record (which you usually don't need). I made two screenshots: File:User numma cway ftp-ok.png File:User numma cway ftp-fail.png
Wintersday Redux Finale time screwed up on French site (again)
Looks like once again one finale's starting time is wrong on the French web site. It says 21h00 (9PM) where the German, Italian ans Spanish sites says 09h00 (9AM) instead, while the UK site gets redirected to the US site (poor UK people).
This is really annoying as it keeps happening over again and again for the last 3 years, you should really do some QA on the French translations! Jaxom 12:26, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback, Jaxom! I'll pass it along to the translators and get a correction posted. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 19:29, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
Guild Wars 2 Website
Hi Emily, if you're not the one to address with this, I apologize. It seems that there is no link to or information about the Guild Wars 2 Wiki on http://www.guildwars2.com. Could something be done about that? Thanks. elix Omni 20:19, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
- Also, I would like to suggest to make a box with recent news articles on the GW2 homepage, just like on the GW homepage. This makes it a lot easier to see if there's any news. --Elemonk Nibo 07:27, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- You can easily see the news link in the upper corner... - J.P.Talk 07:30, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- I know that, but what I like most about the GW website is that you can immediately see all news, something I would like to see in the GW2 website as well. --Elemonk Nibo 10:58, 11 February 2010 (UTC)
- Hi guys! Over time, we'll make changes to the existing website to address these concerns and more. I just can't give details :) -- Emily Diehl (talk) 20:53, 3 March 2010 (UTC)

Fan site kits links are broken
Hello, I just wanted to let you know that download links on official website (Home > Community > Fansites > Kit > *) are broken. Cheers, Elephant 10:45, 20 February 2010 (UTC)
- As I said some lines above, ANet broke the nameservers, but they don't mind. --numma_cway 18:28, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
- Hey now...that's not a fair comment, numma. I've passed the issue along to network ops, and they're looking into it. Some high level stuff is being worked on, so it's possible that this is a result of those ongoing changes. I can assure you that yes, we do mind and yes, we are looking into things. It's just not as simple an issue as it may seem to be. Thanks for the report, Elephant. -- Emily Diehl (talk) 20:51, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
Guildwars 2 site
Is it just me or is the guildwars2 newpage bugged it says that I need to download it instead of just opening it. http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/6644/naamloosxi.png 84.80.151.136 10:56, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- Hiya! I'm actually not able to replicate this issue on my end, and I've not received any other notices about it :( Other folks that read my talk page: have any of you experienced this issue? -- Emily Diehl (talk) 02:05, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
Game Update Notes
Currently on the Guild Wars site the game update notes for Thursday's update are listed twice, once being on the non-existent Thursday, March 24, 2010. [1] --Orry 19:28, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
- They must have fixed it already, I only see one set, for the correct date. -- FreedomBound 20:12, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
- A much better place for these issues is the Feedback:Website suggestions page. Emily checks it regularly, and it would keep her userpage from becoming so cluttered. -- Wyn talk 20:23, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
- Anyhow, it's fixed regardless, whether due to me or not. --142.68.63.9 21:50, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
- Gah, somehow got signed out. --Orry 21:52, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
