A question: can we use ideas from any fansite to include in our use case if we show reference to it in a list of sources as a link? HH LEADER User HH LEADER Peace symbol svg.png talk 13:38, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Come again? Use punctuation this time, please. -Auron 13:58, 20 March 2009

Earlier it was suggested that all ideas for GW2 belong to funsites. The question was in reverse: is it OK to include the ideas from funsites as alternative path for use cases in addition to what we have now? HH LEADER User HH LEADER Peace symbol svg.png talk 14:39, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

Umm, i think the example we were looking for was for you to fill out what you are thinking with, say, the armor suggestions. --JonTheMon 14:12, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
You must be kidding ;-) It is just a very qick mock up of the document that is yet to be discussed. Samples are for illustration only. I have not been looking at armor ideas at all. What we have in GW1 is good enough for me personally. It would take a lot of work to fill the template properly. And the work should start from the agreement what main use cases are in specific area and ranging them from High to Low. I am not in the position to fill any templates before this work is done by the community, the concensus on the inclusion is reached, and unique IDs are assigned. I'm actually not kidding at all. How about take one of the major suggestion categories for GW or GW2 and actually fill out some of what you're suggesting. It would help people to see how it works better and get a feel for what you might want. So, we need illustrations. Like, it doesn't have to have unique IDs or the templates, just a rough idea of what we would get out of it. --JonTheMon 15:25, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
Done. Further discussion is needed. HH LEADER User HH LEADER Peace symbol svg.png talk 14:42, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
wow, that does look pretty organized. btw if you want more feedback on your idea, you can post it up here - Guild_Wars_Wiki:Requests_for_comment (Terra Xin 00:35, 31 March 2009 (UTC))
It could make sense if there was a will to be doing that. We seem to be strugling more with the question 'Why should we be doing that?" as opposed to "How we should be doing that?". ArenaNet designer who is not responsible for GW2 have admitted that the question "Is ArenaNet interested at all in GW2 suggestions?" is still unanswered. She said that she will bug them again. So, if either they show their interest and then we can discuss the 'How' or not. In a latter case I don't see a point to waste other people's time anymore not to mention my own ... The funny thing is that ArenaNet may think that the avoidance of an answer is the answer,- not so. Producers must manage customers expectations. It will be understood if they say: "Yes, we've considered this but it is not viable to do right now, or too expensive, or contradictory, or does not support game scenario, etc., etc". They have 'community relationship managers' on a payroll, for soul sake! The community creates a single source location with fountains of ideas ... and it is ignored? What may happen that when they release their new product and gamers expectations are High and GW2 is just new extension of GW1 with prettier graphics, they may face a failure on the market ... So, I am giong to wait for them to produce any sign of interest in what their customers are suggesting HH LEADER User HH LEADER Peace symbol svg.png talk 18:03, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Then you are going to be waiting, and we will proceed with our plans as they stand because ArenaNet has not once indicated to us that they have any care of whether we host suggestions here or not. If you are that concerned, you may want to get involved with the group working on http://www.guildwarsideas.com as their site is designed for suggestions. --Wyn's Talk page Wyn 18:13, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Wyn, thank you for your suggestion. However the site you have mentioned has the very same problem: ArenaNet not indicated that they are interested. See topic: http://www.guildwarsideas.com/answer/356/Anet_awareness on this site.
People are already saying that they see no value in participating. The major problem with fan sites that there are many of them. How someone choses in which one to participate? Another argument against it is that this Wiki already has TONS of ideas which do not exist in other sites. Are people going to start all over or just have their friends to vote for their ideas?
What I have offered on this page is to have an 'extract/inventory/summary' of the ideas that are already submitted. Terra Xin has offered submitting it for Request For Comment. Do you personally think it may actually lead somewhere? HH LEADER User HH LEADER Peace symbol svg.png talk 21:05, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
