Hello, and welcome to GWW. May I remind you that calling people idiots is against our no personal attacks policy? Thank you and happy editing! WhyUser talk:Why Are We Fighting 18:05, 18 February 2009 (UTC) edit: The link is currently not working because the revision got oversighted to remove the anon's email adresses, but I'm sure you got the message. WhyUser talk:Why Are We Fighting 18:07, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

I've been here for quite a while, thanks, long enough to know that you have better things to do than to remind me to adhere to one of the many policies that no one follows anyway. I know what I wrote, I don't need your little link. Buzz off, champ. --Ninjatek 18:30, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
The message is still available here. Oh and next time when you see personal information, please remove it instead of just replying and adding another revision with that personal information to the wiki. Thanks. poke | talk 18:15, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
Read this a few times, and make sure you understand it very, very well before you wedge yourself into my business again: I'll do what I damn please when I see people's personal information. Maybe I'll comment on it, maybe I'll show my friends, or maybe I'll blow it off or glance over it. It is not my responsibility to patrol other users' edits, nor is it my responsibility to delete their personal information if they are stupid enough to post it in the first place. Take that issue up with the original poster, not with me.--Ninjatek 18:30, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
I am just trying to help you. After all, if you continue to make personal attacks, you will find yourself blocked, which is something we both don't want. Good day. WhyUser talk:Why Are We Fighting 18:37, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
Given that you don't seem to actually be able to ban users, I take your ill-placed threat very lightly - and I believe that you are completely out of line to threaten me in that manner. Sticking your nose in other people's business and issuing threats that you can't back up is a habit you should consider breaking while you're still a teenager. What I say and who I say it to is my business, not yours, especially in the face of vague, debatable, and admittedly "[not] clearly defined" [unquote] policies like NPA. If you want to flex your wanna-be admin muscles and show off what a good little Wiki user you are, then do so someplace else, and please do not involve me in it. I've asked you once to buzz off, and I'll ask you one more time, very clearly, to leave me alone. Every time you type on my talk page, I get an annoying e-mail alert notifying me. I don't want you talking to me, and I don't want any more e-mail alerts from you. I strongly urge you not to try to get the last word in. Please go away and leave me alone. --Ninjatek 19:21, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
Hi Ninjatek. Concision is not a goal on a skill page. Notes about a skill are not the concise description of it. The fact that Health degeneration, health loss, life stealing, redirected damage and sacrifice don't work with Essence Bond was not stated in the previous version. So, I do not see how you can call that "redundant". The previous version of the notes forget to consider flight time of arrows, and is therefore not completely right. Hence my changes. And finally, if you don't like my writing style, then improove it instead of making unproductive raw deletion.Have a nice day. Stomatium

Guide to killing the Master of Survival with a standard GvG Cripshot bar:[edit]

  1. Do not use Apply Poison, Crippling Shot or any condition applying skills.
  2. Interrupt Parasitic Bond using Distracting Shot to disable it whenever it is cast. Count out the disable time so that you know when it is going to be cast again.
  3. Interrupt Troll Unguent with Savage Shot whenever it is attempted, preferably at the last second to keep the Master of Survival standing still as long as possible.
  4. During the rare occasions that the Master uses Pin Down, side step it, or simply touch off the condition after the fact. Use this and Natural Stride to stay easily within range.

Following these handy hints the Master of Survival will be unable to heal herself and even with 0 Marksmanship she will be easy to kill. I have never attempted this with a Cripshot bar, because that would be silly and akin to trying to kill the Master of Healing with a hex stack, but I have done it with a Mel's Shot ranger and a Burning Arrow ranger. The Mel's Shot ranger needed to be played in the exact same way as described above as bleeding would actually provide healing. I hope that helps you. I am not going to do it again and record it just to satisfy you. Misery 11:05, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

You're close to getting my point, and I think we're on the same page anyway - let me clarify a bit: When I said "kill the Master of Survival with a standard GvG Bow Build", I didn't think I needed to say "USE the skills on the bar." Anyone can wand someone to death and interrupt heals. That's not what this is about. You're not going to go to GVG with a "Standard Cripshot bar," not use Apply poison or Cripshot, and run around attacking with your spacebar FTW. The only thing Rangers can do right now is spread conditions and interrupt. And now with the aftercasts, they can spread conditions and interrupt even less efficiently. My analogy involving the Master of Survival illustrates that you have to go to ridiculous, unreasonable, unfun, design-failure-based tactics in order to win with a Ranger. Why? Because, for the 5th time, conditions are overrated, and Rangers deal direct damage poorly. I take time to post and communicate clearly, so return that courtesy and take the time to read my entire argument and consider it as a whole, rather than picking at the parts. Thanks for taking the time to post your guide and such. -Ninjatek 21:18, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
Actually, thanks to the bug in Precision Shot, I just ran a pre-nerf standard gvg melshot ranger and ripped her (in PvP-mode, too!) --User Ezekial Riddle silverbluesig.pngRIDDLE 20:57, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Bad analogy, tbh. I still don't see how it supports whatever it is you're trying to prove. --67.240.83.137 21:20, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
Warriors are underpowered because they can't kill a Flashing Blades assassin with a standard GvG bar :< Misery 09:22, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
You're right. It's likely a bad analogy. It makes sense in my head, but I'm not able to express it coherently. Sorry about that. My incoherent point is about Rangers anyway, so let's not derail it by talking about warriors and assassins. I suppose the option of having a PVP damage-dealing Ranger is just being phased out, and it's probably intentional. I guess I just have to accept that. -Ninjatek 03:28, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
My apologies for making my point in such a manner, but it is one of those design things. Originally during beta rangers could stack a gazillion buffs on their shots and send off one arrow for a stupid amount of damage and conditions. It was realised at that point of time what ridiculous things this did. I've heard this complaint about rangers many, many times, but almost no one complains that mesmers or necromancers don't have viable pure damage builds. Paragons were designed to be the ranged physical damage dealers, in recent times rangers have done that better, while providing the necessary disruption and rock hard splittability they have had since release. That is why they have received so many hits to damage, but there are still plenty of good options for PvP rangers and PvE rangers alike. Misery 10:39, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
Eh... Sorry, I disagree. Who said anything about beta anyway? Based on the capabilities that Rangers have had since conception, and up until the last 1.5 years or so, I would argue that they were designed to do more than spread poison and spam D-shot; now that's all they do. It's sad and boring. And like I said in another post, come Zaishen Mission time, good luck finding a Ranger in a group - unless the Ranger is forming a group. -Ninjatek 14:32, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
Giving rangers good damage was as much of a mistake as every update in which fire magic was buffed. Both are only used for mindless gimmicks, so I do not see any loss here. As for Z-missions, Splinter Barrage is still around... Koda User Koda Kumi UT.jpeg Kumi 14:53, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Guild Wars Wiki talk:Arbitration committee/2010-01-16-User:Gares Redstorm[edit]

"Obviously adding your sig and identifying yourself as a sysop gives you the right to post useless and wasteful shit."

Great job, you caught on to my point. I don't see you going after Pling, Galil or Gares, however, for doing exactly the same thing. The only difference between their comments and mine is they were signed in first, so they didn't get reverted. My having to log in to "justify" my comment, after all of the useless comments already made, was my complaint to begin with - those sysops were chewing the fat, adding "useless and wasteful shit" to the page, and as soon as an IP does it, it's against the rules and they get reverted.

All or nothing, to be honest. Either everyone is allowed to post bullshit, like those sysops were, or nobody is. I'm not a huge fan of double standards. I reacted to Galil's revert with anger because I do feel strongly about this issue. In fact, outside of your incomplete assessment of the situation, you already agree with me. The bullshit shouldn't be posted to begin with. However, please don't bite my head off for setting a poor example when everyone in that section was doing the same thing or you're just going to come across as ignorant. -Auron 15:30, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Case in point, Auron. This is exactly what I'm talking about. Instead of saying "Yeah, maybe I shouldn't have done that - being as how I'm an admin, I would jump on someone else for doing the same thing. My apologies...," you come to my talk page and defend yourself with this reasoning of "Everyone else is doing it, so I can too, and you appear ignorant for not seeing that." Though it may not be specifically stated in policy here on the Wiki, one of your tasks as a power user is to set a good example and stand apart from whatever douchebaggery everyone else, whether they're a power user or not, is engaged in. You forget that there's more to the Wiki community than users who perpetually post and update and argue and correct - there are a great deal more casual readers than any of the aforementioned user types. And when you dick around and use your status to engage in the "exactly the same thing" as others, you set a poor example. By extension, and far worse, setting a poor example deters casual readers from becoming active participants in the community. So if you please, get off my talk page and go do the technical admin tasks that you're assigned to, and while you do them, remember that the silent community is taking note - especially during election time. There's a lot of garbage on this Wiki; use your position to be one of the few who chooses to be above it.-Ninjatek 03:20, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

My status as a sysop[edit]

If you have any questions or concerns about my actions as a sysop, I am more than happy to discuss them on my talk page. If your concerns are more about actions that the sysop team collectively have collectively not taken, then you may highlight any issues requiring attention on the Guild Wars Wiki:Admin noticeboard, subject to the posting rules there. If it is something that would not be appropriate to post on the noticeboard, but you feel still requires attention, then feel free to contact me either on my talk page or through "Email this user" if you would prefer that your concerns were not made public. Misery 21:24, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, but I'd rather just grief about it on my user page. I wouldn't want to detract from the admins' busy schedule of bickering and bullshitting and threatening one another by posting on the Admin Noticeboard. -Ninjatek 22:41, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
Well, if you aren't willing to clarify your complaints in such a way that something could actually be done about them, I'm afraid I am unable to take them seriously. If you wish to change your mind, you know where to find me. Misery 07:30, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
