texmod cart prob

Cant change the map, everytime I load it the map is the same, no red stuff

Checksum?

There's a couple of threads out there regarding viruses that seem to be associated with either texmod or CME. It appears very likely that heuristics are causing these false positives, rather than any real threat (in other words, texmod and CME are or create files that do things similar to known viruses).

The wiki has posted checksums for TexMod, so that folks can be sure that they have a good copy. I'm wondering if you could run an MD5 checksum program and post the results here. Thanks!   — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 12:48, 10 October 2009 (UTC)

My exploration

Even with the latest update to fill in all known explorable areas I still have few that I've uncovered but apparently others haven't, so here they are:

3 spots in Elona

Jade Flats and Eredon Terrace

Shiverpeak Arena

Nahpui Quarter

Crystal Overlook

Ive been tooling around gathering Cartography and went to 8-man the crystal desert when i saw that aproxamately half of Crystal Overlook is covered in your space-filling texture, an area to the SE has a small edge covered as well but its of less important concern considering the cartography credit

Canthan Exploration

So in my mapping of cantha, I've noticed a few places that are missing, most notably:

Southern part of Imperial Sanctum (accessible by shadow stepping into raisu palace)

Eredon Terrace (huuge section, approximately 0.6% or 0.7% appears as black and unexplorable with the mod)

After completing Tyria with the mod, I was a little surprised to see these large places were missed since the Tyria version was VERY comprehensive. I'm using the complete package if you're wondering. Oh, also in Tyria the island corresponding to the old Random Arena staging area appeared as a black unexplorable region.207.216.235.240 09:14, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Mediafire having problems?

I recently tryed to download the full verson and the indevidual versons of the mod. However, Mediafire doesnt seem to load the download. I am using IE9. Any help? --~~Lotus~~ 19:42, 10 April 2011 (UTC)

That sounds like a problem with IE9 working correctly with Mediafire. You could wait for Mediafire to figure it out, wait for Microsoft to patch IE9, or, for this one situation, use a different browser to download it.

Ouch. Okay, next thing to try are anti-virus and javascript suppressors (a lot of DL sites depend on scripts to work). I use NOSCRIPT for FF and there are any number of sites that get badly nerfed b/c of it, particularly the file sharing ones. They don't usually give an error message, but they do show the same symptom: a progress bar that never fully loads.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 04:00, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

If You're Active

I have a couple spots preventing me from Master of the North and I was wondering if you could shed some light on how to get them. Here's the image, I can't seem to get any of them no matter how much I scrape! 999 Points blows, and I really don't want to do a 500 foe vanquish. All of those spots are just hitting the sweet spot on a wall. Can't really give any concrete tips. But, I've got more spots than that left unmapped on one of mine and still have the 1000. Might want to recheck the other zones to make sure there's not an easier spot you missed out on.-- Pyron Sy 22:51, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Wow, you are still active, thanks for the quick reply. Besides one other sliver in Ice Cliffs I just noticed, it's all mapped. I assumed a sweet spot thing was the issue, but was wondering if any of those spots rang any bells as having a particular spot or annoyance with them. The orientation of your toon matters: I believe I've found 8 different directions that can uncover what appears to be a generous bit. Sometimes you have to look askew, instead of directly at the dark spot.

If, for some reason, you haven't done WiK, the Trial of Zinn is the most useful opportunity for portal jumping, allowing you to uncover significant bonus areas.

Finally, if you post one/more of the spots giving you trouble, legions of ppls should be able to provide you with specific tips. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 23:10, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Didn't know direction mattered o.0, so weird. Sadly, I have done that, but I didn't know there was any black to be found around there. I did post an image of the troubling spots in my first post, but oddly enough, accidentally running through the portal to Raven's Point triggered the last tiny bit I needed. I thought it was only the intro/tutorial map that was exclusive for Elona, and you can't get there even with Elonian characters once you leave it, so you can't get it :( ~FarloTalk 02:28, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

Eredon Terrace

Cantha Mod updated for 2013

I took it upon myself to update the Cantha mod (by recreating it from the ground up) to account for all the missing spots that the 2009 version has. It also has some nice little notes to show which areas of controversy are definitely not able to be uncovered. Release candidate 1.1 (July 27, 2013) is available here.
