Project

Hey, i am currently working on making a customizable CalendarCalendar, like with colors, and background stuff. I would appreciate help with some of it(i can't seem to figure out how to add the customizable part, without changing the entire set-up, which is realy aggravating and annoying. --Thon Ghul Talk 22:57, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

Character Pages

Thanks, there are certain tricks I have learned with the Gimp. For instance, if you have a problem with the Gimp stalling out loading the fonts, try Gimp.exe -f to not load the fonts and -s for no splash screen. I use it to speed up the loading process when I am not using fonts. Another command line switch, -d (no patterns, gradients, palettes, or brushes). I currently use version 2.6.10 for my windows vista laptop. I have 2 laptops and one uses Linux Kubuntu 10.10 so that also has Gimp. Some people will tell you it runs better in Linux but I see no difference. There are other free art programs that offer transparent layers. Images

Just spoke to user Jabhacksoul on the phone about this. He said, "The Gimp would be better.". LoL However I explained to him the issues at hand. He said your "real problem" is using Inkscape to cookie cut the background out. Layers will work just fine, but only to merge the final project together. Apparently Inkscape is used to make vector images and not much else. He babbled on about a lot of technical stuff that lost my attention and said you would be better off using Gimp for editing Jpegs or Bitmaps. Then he said, "It is not impossible to do... (heavy sigh) ...ok I will cook up a tutorial and post it on my wiki sandbox.". Then I thanked him. --Wendy Black 13:45, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

An art program that roots go back to Gimp, CinePaint, was developed with movies in mind. I hate to toss unknown programs at you that I have never used myself. I have no clue if it could be useful for your needs or others. The homepage is cinepaint.org and a Windows Download is available. Sorry for the slow reply, I've been busy gathering 7th anniversary items. Also I am planning to do a complete makeover of my user pages, with new and improved character sheets, detailed biographies, and some short stories. I be taking some time off to make some movies, so I doubt I will be of much help on other projects. As a side note, the user "Dervish of ascalon" who plays "Doomsday Thats It", asked me some time ago about making a user box for his 4 horseman project. I told him I don't think there is much of a point to that since only 4 people belong to it. But you can see what I showed him in my last lab code. I am not sure where you are heading with your code, but the raw user box code is there. It uses a few switches to set colors, image, and text. --Wendy Black 23:50, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

If you are looking for a complete make-over... check out this nav-bar, i got the idea from Kazera Wolfsbane, It looks pretty neat, and if you can fig. out how to animate the names picture, like on kazera's page, it would look even cooler, Also... if you figure out how to do that, i might ask you to animate a name for me >_>... --Thon Ghul Talk 21:30, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

My new and improved character sheets are coming along nicely. I don't plan to do much with nav-bars. However the image Kazera is using is an infinite looping gif image with a red drop shadow growing and shrinking. I don't know what font he used, but there are several online apps that can produce free gif logos. Character Sheets

In your Character Sheets, you have {{{photo|Image}}}. To make your sheets have even less coding , in the process. You could add it like this: [[Image:{{{photo|Image}}}|link=}}}]], and if you make all your pictures in png, or jpg. You could do this: [[Image:{{{photo|image}}}.png or jpg|link=]]. Thanks, I did it that way so I could size the image but I might change it to include the size. I am working on my profession tab now that tells you details about the character's professions, builds, pets, and other variations. For example; Red Death Witch is a Necro-Monk but also has the Necro-Ranger option with a pet. I am also going with my own custom color themes. The Heroes was something I found, it looked cool, so I altered it slightly. I was working on the missions and decided to take a breather and play the game some more. The real problem with most character sheets on the wiki is too much info on one page. It looks crowded, so I decided to break it down. --Wendy Black 01:28, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

If i see typos in your work, do you mind if i fix them?, or just leave em alone?. because: On your new character sheets, your link for professions, is titled "proffessions". Just a thought. Also, nice looking character sheets for the most part, I do think that the length of it could be taken out a little bit more however, it seems just a tad lopsided on the professions, support, and missions tabs;either that or maybe center the tables. New Monitor

Well today I am working from my husband's desktop and he has a big 22 inch wide screen monitor. This makes all my pages look funny so I am going to be doing some minor visual edits. My HP laptop went in his shop for "repairs" and I am stuck with this for now. My HP also uses a wide screen but it still looks odd on his monitor. I wonder if anyone else remembers the old 12 inch CGA monitors we had? --Wendy Black 03:34, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

My 8th Character

Some of you who read my pages may have noticed I have 2 divisions. There are Heroes and Defenders, Heroes are for those who don't hold the Defender of Ascalon title. Out of these 4 Heroes only one of them is from Ascalon. My last character has been created and is leveling up to 20 so they will also hold this title. It takes over 100 hours (in game) to make it to LDoA so don't expect to see him in post searing too soon. ;) He is going to become something very different in my array of characters and quite a surprise. Since this is my last slot available I will be posting the character on the Empty Slot on the Defenders page soon. My oldest son wants me to stop fiddling around and get my butt in gear and buy Eye of the North. However I like to take my time. --Wendy Black 16:52, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

I think I will wait until EotN goes on sale for Christmas. It drops to $10 in the online store. I am a woman, we like sales. :D I feel Factions was the weakest link. It has the fewest missions, I can never find my way through the city maps, and the only benefit I see is the Assassin profession. Other MMO

So for the last week haven't touched GW because my sons got me playing another MMO. Yeah I need another hole in my head too. What really got me interested was the MMO has a built in mission editor. How cool is that? In short, you can create your own custom missions and player can optionally play them and they get XP and items just like the regular missions. The catch is you need to collect 10,000 game money to access the editor (don't ask me why). So it takes about um... about a week to collect. So I went to turn in my cash and the editor is not available. WTF??

So why don't more MMO's have custom content editors? --Wendy Black 05:23, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
