Moss Spiders could be found in Ascalon before the Searing. When they grow in their natural environment they can't be charmed to be used as animal companions. So in order to charm one, the player must acquire an egg, and hand it over to Emryd the Tamer to care for in the Zaishen Menagerie. Wild Moss Spiders are considered to be extinct now.

• Found as hostile in Regent Valley (pre-Searing) and neutral in Green Hills County.
• Sometimes the Moss Spiders in Green Hills County are used to death level, as a replacement for Charr.
• Unlike other wildlife in pre-Searing, they have a profession displayed in their target display when targeted.

Anomaly.Moss spiders in Green Hills County use melee attacks, despite their ranger profession.
