She has some sort of rivalry with Aziure, believing that magic should be something simple, and tries to prove that to her during the quest The Supremacy of Air. During Trying Times and A Cure for Ralena, it is revealed that Ralena fell ill from a disease brought by the Searing, for which Vassar works to find a cure.
