[edit] Graphic Error?

Does anyone have a graphic error where the crown's front is flat black? --Redfeather 04:28, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I have that error too --Lumenil 13:30, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
Lumenil, is your prof mesmer? I read that it happens with all mesmer's wearing crowns. --Redfeather 21:53, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
Yes, it is. Where did you read that? I posted this bug on guru, I hope they fix it --Lumenil 05:37, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
Coz i posted it on the very first day of the preevnt :S--82.197.13.7 16:31, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Uncustomized! Ayumbhara 17:33, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

It is customized once you make the deal. Chriskang 23:28, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dying

It doesn't seem the crown follows normal dye pattern. A yellow dye give it a green color. This is my formula for a golden crown: silver + red + orange. Lightblade 05:21, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

You can dye your crown Gold by combining: White + Silver + Orange + YellowTristin 20:52, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

As a side note, the present continuous of "to dye" is "dyeing" not "dying". "Dying" is the present continuous of "to die", which definitely causes misunderstandings. :) 87.155.90.151 09:55, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] The Hourglass Staff

How does this work with the Hourglass staff? Does it give +1 to all primary attributes? Would a Mo/Me, for example, get +1 FC or a Me/E get +1 ES? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Bowflight .

What does this have to do with the hourglass staff? --LemmingImage:User Lemming64 sigicon.png 22:50, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
It's a misconception. The "+1 to item's attribute" doesn't refer to the attribute of the items you have equipped, it just means that the crown will give +1 to the attribute of the rune attached to the crown, just like Hero headgear. --Valentein 22:57, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
Oh, okay. Thanks for the info. Bowflight 21:25, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
that can be explained by the past behaviour of hero headpieces. Those used in fact to be dependent from the attribute of the equipped weapon, but this changed with an update - stupidly without changing the wording. As we know, it's now dependent from the rune used to upgrade this armor piece. This misdirecting description was then taken over to the common Eye of the North headpieces. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 18:41, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Possible reference to Runescape party hat?

I've noticed the Crown looks a lot like the legendary (and hugely expensive) party hat in Runescape. The latter was created for a Christmas party by the creators of Runescape and were dropped all around the game world. They are now some of the most expensive items in the game, because they no longer enter the game at all and are therefore sought after by all players, which has raised their price to incredible amounts in-game. More information here.

They also have vibrant colors, which may explain how well the Crown dyes even though it has a metal surface.

Should this be added to the Trivia section, you think? 87.155.90.151 10:05, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

I think it's probably a reference to a crown. Misery 10:07, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
Too much differnce. The RS phat is much more flat (at least in RSC)-- Karasu (talk) 10:21, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
Okay then, not worthy of trivia section backed by popular consensus. Q.E.D. 87.155.90.151 15:01, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

k i looked it up granted it looks a bit alike but its not based on tht trust me if GW were to copy another game i guarantee you it would NOT be rs--Lord randy taylor 20:48, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

The problem with most people is that whenever they see the phrase "may have been inspired by...", they read it as "is a huge effing rip off...", so it's probably for the best not mentioning it on the page. Paddymew 15:56, 19 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Default color

As you can see when regarding the color chart, it has a unique default color. Did anyone figure out whether there's a possible dye combination that has the same tinge as the default color? —ZerphatalkThe Improver 12:42, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

duh nevermind, it's gray...of course, as every other armor piece. —ZerphatalkThe Improver 12:43, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] HoM

Can this be displayed in the HoM? I followed a link on wiki from Hall of Monuments to prestige armor, and under the list was the crown, which made me think it could be displayed, but when I got it I don't get the option to display it. Am I doing something wrong or was I just mistaken?75.166.227.179 15:34, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

As the note at the top of the prestige armor page says, standalone pieces (including the crown) can't be displayed in the HoM. -- Hong 15:37, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Suggestions for armor pairing

Anyone have any good suggestions for a warrior set that doesn't look retarded with this headgear? Nay the One and Only 22:55, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

Yes, any armor. You simply click "Do not show headgear". Paddymew 05:56, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
Lol'd... But it's true, the crown is quite ugly.--Frozen 13:40, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
If i was gonna do that I wouldn't waste my money on it at all and would just buy a cheap 1k helm Nay the One and Only 17:53, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Yes, because 1k + materials is less than 100 gold. Paddymew 17:58, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Well, technically this costs 500g, since you'll need to enter the tournament (and win) 5 times, paying 100g each time. Still, point, this is cheaper than the 1k helms. But then we're not factoring in for players that bought/capped skills specifically in order to complete this are we? Lillium 08:23, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
Neither are we factoring in the fluctating price of materials. Paddymew 10:57, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
But I think we should also factor in that this helm is fugly. ;) -- Salome 11:21, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
When we are discussing the cheapest headgear that we would want to hide anyway? That wouldn't make any sense :P Besides, you can farm this easier than you perma-SF raptors, by simply using a ritualist spirit farming build. The tokens can then be used by your other chars to get the headgear. Paddymew 13:55, 9 November 2009 (UTC)
