Does this spell only work for damage from an attack, or does it include damage from spells like Fireball? How about an Area of Effect skill like Rain of Fire?

I think it works for AoE spells, as long as the caster is still alive. If the caster died and you get hit by his Maelstrom spell, it doesn't work because there is nobody to steal life from. Not sure if it still uses up the Vengeful Weapon though. - 144.226.230.37 15:50, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Actually, I think it affects Reversal of Damage too, because I get killed this way in the Norn Fighting Tournament.— Ciborg 17:53, 13.08.2008 (UTC)

What about, say, I use Vengeful Weapon, and an enemy with Vengeful Weapon attacks me, will that hurt us both? Aerie 11:16, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

Should this skill be related to Nightmare Weapon, for both being life stealing weapon spells? Seems more related to me than all the monk damage mitigation/reversal ones, since all they really have in common is triggering on next hit to target. Lillium 18:36, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
