Houyi was born in a small village near Shing Jea Monastery. As a result, at 13 he was sent to the monastery to train as a ranger. When the affliction hit the Island, he fled with Togo and went to the mainland, bringing his parents, sole survivors of the village, along with him. They set up shop in Kaineng city, slowly adjusting to city life, while their son went off with Togo in a quest around Cantha, climaxing in the defeat of the demon Shiro. His parents rose to the top, selling weapons forged for the newly reforming Canthan Army, while Houyi followed Warior Kronos to the Northern shiverpeaks in his home continent, through a portal below Kaineng. He proceeded to align the races of the north, and defeat the Great Destroyer. He now is adventuring through Elona.
