Signature Image[edit]

Hi, I saw you have added an image to your signature. The Signing Policy says that signature images should be a maximum of 19x19 pixels. You might want to change your image before one of the sysops changes it for you. Hope this helps.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss, please feel free to ask me on my talk page, or ask any of the helpers, check out the Help center, or post a question on the Help:Ask a wiki question page. Thanks!- TheRave talk (talk) 21:12, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, I'm straight over from the original wiki, and guess I persumed what was good enough over there will do here. I'll probably just remove it all together, thanx for the heads up =) -->A F K When Needed User A F K When Needed sig.jpg 21:43, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Welcome to this fine establishment. You may find that here the policies are like a choking sticky black ichor that has forced its way down your throat and is now spreading throughout your lungs choking and stifling your creativity and forcing you to become a mindless drone helpless beneath the mass of a thousand screaming tl;drs. If it's a hacksite I'm reporting your user page and you will be blocked for linking to hacksites. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:72.71.209.90 (talk).

If it was a hacksite you'd be able to tell before being hacked simply by the appearance of the site. Durrrr
You're threatening to report me? Be a big boy and sign your message, then. --> A F K When Needed 19:14, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

Please change the link on your userpage. It is not ok to try to hide links like that and trick people. - anja talk 19:16, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

Thank you. 72.71.209.90 19:16, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
Please point me to the policy which explains why my joke is forbidden? I can honestly say I know of no such policy at this time. It is a joke, it is my namespace. --> A F K When Needed 19:17, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
ohai --> A F K When Needed 19:18, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
GWW:USER Do not include any material generally deemed offensive and insulting. That's what I'm referring to, mainly. Joking is fine, tricking people is not, especially with links like that.
Cursed Angel just added it, you can't keep track of everyone if it's not reported. I'm going to ask him too to remove it. - anja talk 19:23, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
Are you going to try to argue RickRolling new? It's been around for quite a while now, and people are very rarely, if ever, punished for it. Considering it's my own UserPage, I honestly can't see what rule I'm breaking. --> A F K When Needed 19:28, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
It's not the "insulting" part I'm worried about. I have no problem with being rick rolled. The problem is that people could make fake system/admin messages and link them to hacksites. The best solution is to make a policy that awards long-term blocks for anyone who attempts to spoof automatically generated system messages.72.71.209.90 19:29, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
It's not only "rickrolling", but the way you imitate system messages. Also see Auron's posts on CA's talk page. - anja talk 19:30, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
Very well, I disagree with this, but in the interest of less wiki-drama, you have my word tomorrow I will edit the page accordingly. --> A F K When Needed 19:33, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
I can do it for you now if you lack the energy. It's no problem. - anja talk 19:34, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
You pointed me to Auron's edit, which I read, perhaps more closely than you did. I will be keeping the link but changing the way I present it to stop it from imitating the message. --> A F K When Needed 19:36, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
Instead of talking to me you could be changing it. But fine, until tomorrow, or I will remove it. - anja talk 19:37, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
Auron told CA to change it to any other way of presenting the link that CA wanted to use (near enough). I do want to keep an amusing link on my UserPage, but it has been a long, frustrating day, and as I'm sure you can understand, this is not helping. I am hardly in the mood for coming up with a joke at the moment. --> A F K When Needed 19:41, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
Then go find other ways of amusing yourself without giving people keyloggers. Go run a lame broken n00b build in HA. Run joke builds in random arenas. Run a mending healing hands wammo in PvE. Run range spike on Mallyx. Whatever. Just don't hide hacksites in fake system messages.72.71.209.90 19:45, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
How many people need to tell you that it is not a hacksite? A huge amount of people know about the site and you're doing nothing except making yourself look retarded. --> A F K When Needed 19:48, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
Only one person, and that's you. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:72.71.209.90 (talk).
Please desist from editing my User Page and Talk Page. --> A F K When Needed 20:07, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
I don't think it's a hacksite and you are more than welcome to keep the link. However the medium in which you are presenting it is not okay. I'm not trying to get at you here, as i know you've had a shitty day but really imitating standing wiki systems to trick people into being rickroll'ed is abit on the naff side. Anja has given you 24 hours to change it, which personally if I were you, I would be grateful for, as I personally, and alot of the other admins, would have just told you to change it or changed it for you. So maybe you should be a little less confrontational with Anja matey? EDIT: just a wee addedum to what I said, but how it is now is fine and thank you for the change. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 20:20, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

(RI)(EC'd by mself...) Debating a point and being "confrontational" are two different things. I did run every change past her, so although I disagreed with her, I did bow to her decisions and let her decide what was okay and what was not. According to myself, the IP who thinks they're a Sysop, and Jon, it is okay, Anja also does not have a problem with it. Forgive me, but why restart the issue? --> A F K When Needed 20:25, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

Please see my edit matey. My comment was trying to explain why it wasn't okay in the first place. I personally tend to feel that trying to reach an understanding with a person is better than just having them abide by what you want them to do, as its a more positive way forward. I was trying to distance myself from saying you needed to remove the link or that the link was a hacksite, rather I just wanted to point out why people were asking for its removal. Further to that I do think you were a tad on the confrontational side when it came to Anja, and as I pointed out, Anja is one of the softer more laid back sysops on this wiki. As I also said, I know you've had a shitty day and thus I was attempting to explain why people wanted the message changed, instead of just having people moan at you. Anyway regards matey and I hope your day gets better. -- Salome User salome sig2.png 20:32, 29 March 2009 (UTC)

Saying it again here, just so it's clear[edit]

Stop attacking or bickering with 72.71.209.90. If you've been trolled, or think you've been trolled, ignore it. You don't go around multiple pages asking for bans and telling him to "GTFO troll". --User Brains12 circle sig.png Brains12 \ talk 18:34, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

Is there a mature "he started it" version of the popular argument?
I asked for an Admin to ban him, on the Admin Noticeboard. Forgive me for posting on the wrong place? He edited a Page that he had no right to, on several occasions, quite probably with the intention of winding me up; as he invariably shows up anywhere I do.
If I wish to ask Admins a question, I believe I have the right to specify I do not want cowardly IPs trying to throw their weight around. From his behaviour, I would expect he's an Admin - as he's clearly used to behaving in the manner that what he says goes. Now, if any questions I ask Admins are naturally open for passing Trolls, please do correct me here. --> A F K When Needed 18:38, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Anja's response there implied "I'm not banning anyone here", and essentially said "sort it out between yourselves" (which is the 1st, or 2nd after 'don't do it at all', thing to do with stuff like this). After that, you posted on GWWT:USER, again requesting bans with added bickering. Fast forward to today, and you're still attacking him or responding inappropriately on User talk:Anja Astor. Even after my warning, you're still calling him cowardly (reasons for which I can't fathom). Now you're accusing him and an admin of malicious sockpuppetry.
In case you didn't get the message on GuildWiki - you don't attack, bait, troll, or respond to bait. If you can't throw it aside and discuss the matter appropriately, you remove yourself altogether and take a break. --User Brains12 circle sig.png Brains12 \ talk 18:47, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
You don't get it? He's an IP! who half the time is too scared to bother signing his comments.
I'm okay with how it is now. Now I'm reading that at face value, and frankly I'm inclinded to think that's the way it is intended. If she's okay with it, she doesn't see a problem. To me that equates to there not being a problem. I fully intend to follow the matter up with Auron so that all are happy; but that doesn't mean I have so far decided to change it once again - I have yet to decide pending my chat with him, but, as I said, I intend to try to make everyone happy.
Now, if you also wish to tell me something specific about my UserPage you find offensive or that you think breaks Policy, please do tell me. If not, please don't pour petrol onto the flames. You tell me not to "attack, bait, troll, or respond to bait". I'm sorry, you're doing what? A handful of people said they thought it was fine, Auron is the one person so far to have a problem with the page in it's current incarnation. Since there is not issue except one between two users which they can sort out themselves, there is no need for you to charge in, tell me I'm not reasonable when your reason for this was incorrect, and then reprimand me to boot. You're the only one keeping the issue going, please cease and desist. --> A F K When Needed 19:00, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
I'll tell you something specific about your user page: it's fucking gay. Rickrolls are gay, annoying, and not funny. Stop being such a fucking tool. Mini Me talk 19:15, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

AB Advice[edit]

I thank you for your helpful Alliance Battle advice. Constructive criticism in the form of "please uninstall the game" will no doubt inspire me to improve better myself both personally and professionally. Regards, Dashface User Dashface.png 13:22, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

You stand still for half of it, then we're graced with your presence when you decide to kill a Kurzick Assassin. Not your fault... nobody could have known Backfire on an A/W sin would have limited at best effect... --> A F K When Needed 14:20, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
I am not an elite PvPer, it is true. That said, I don't recall standing still. -- Dashface User Dashface.png 07:31, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
One thing. I do recall you just standing there while a sin was attacking me (when I wasn't on full health to begin with) and you can't imagine how I felt to see you leap into action and stick Backfire on the sin.
Considering you were particularly unhelpful and standing still I certainly don't think sarcastically asking you to uninstall the game was uncalled for, cruel, or whatever.
Now, regardless of what you did, didn't do, and contemplated doing, I don't think even you can deny the only reason you're posting here is to flame. So I'm tell you now - stop.
1) Guild Wars ≠ Wiki. You don't get the right to flame on this site because you stood still in AB and someone took exception to it.
2) Not being helpful in AB and watching other people on your side isn't exactly nice. So don't start crying when they're not nice to you - you deserve it.
3) You're being an ass - go away. --> A F K When Needed 13:35, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
I apologise for sucking at AB. I also apologise for bringing my complaints into a public discussion area. (Unlike my first comment, these statements are not sarcastic.) -- Dashface User Dashface.png 09:55, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

no A F K you're wrong, you need yo Make an archives folder, learn to think before you speak....--Yo Jm Talk to me 19:07, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
Brains said both ways are adequate.
You don't need to have "Archive" in the location more that once.
User_talk:Yo Jm/Archive_1 is just as acceptable and as clear as User_talk:Yo Jm/Archives/Archives/Archive_1 - you can add more in if you want... personally I think that just looks strange, at any rate it's not needed.
The only difference is, if you need to check the History tab for whatever reason, GL finding a comment that's buried under so much...
Considering that the only difference is something in my favour, I don't understand how I'm wrong.
"you need yo Make an archives folder" - what do you mean? I could interpret that as two totally different things, I'd appreciate you clarfying before I respond
"learn to think before you speak" - nice fail A F K When Needed 10:02, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
You need at least five mentions of "archive" in the page title, so User_talk:Yo Jm/Archives/Archives/Archive_1 is not acceptable. -Auron 12:16, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm not making a big fuss out of it - I asked you to clarify it, and that's the only comment I passed on it. Fail #1
Explain how I failed. Put "Archive" in it more please, kthx. Fail #2
So, I'm a hypocrite? Fail #3 Ah, k. Please consider learning to read. A F K When Needed 13:01, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

I don't care what random people on the internet think of me as a person is what I meant by mine. Nice red link, btw. User A F K When Needed Signature Icon.jpg A F K When Needed 15:51, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
I failed to recognize how who I am is relevant in any way. Just as a side note, your replies in this section are fine examples of what I'm talking about. Thanks, – Emmett 18:50, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
I'm sometimes very polite and that's all well and good.
But like other people, here on the wiki and off, I will point out blatant stupidity and that's just the way I (we) are. Now, keep in mind somebody feeling bad once or twice is worth it if it encourages them to learn what the hell they're talking about before bothering to stick their $0.02 in. Or, failing that, let people know they're ignorant of what they're talking about - which shows some degree of intelligence and thus makes them less likely to be ignored all together in a discussion. (Only being laughed at / mocked / insulted ≠ responded to for the sake of this conversation.)
You don't have to be an Administrator to post on somebody's talk page, no. But if you act in a manner that shows you think you are one, people will ignore you... at best... 90%+ of the time. It's the internet, the greatest proof of all that is wrong with the human race. And, since I'll never have a significant impact on either the internet or the human race, I'll act however I go goddamn please, thank you very much.
Now, since it's an interest of yours, here's my RC page;
  • Unsigned templates
  • Was part of a conversation on Tonics
  • Made one observation
  • Prefectly politely interacted with Gaile Gray in a conversation
  • Reminded a user he forgot to update part of a Kind of a Big Deal userbox he has
  • Reverted depressingly bad Trivia
  • Reminded an I.P. to sign their comments
  • Helped a few contributors work with the images in their signatures, e.g. have them according to Policy
  • Edited the page of an NPC
  • Worked on my namespace
  • Informed a contributor I found one of their character names funny
  • Welcomed a user
  • Edited the page belonging to a Guild.
  • Made sure Wyn didn't mind me using a template of hers (polite, no?)
  • And... that really is about it.
tl;dr - I don't see anywhere I'm particularly different to you and your "...your replies in this section are fine examples of what I'm talking about..." comment. Sticking "thanks" as part of your signature doesn't give you the moral high ground.
What I quote could be interpreted one of a few ways, few if any are better than I am. I'm not crying on your Talk Page, good Sir. User A F K When Needed Signature Icon.jpg A F K When Needed 19:54, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Well, you see, I've been an administrator on other wikis for a year and a half now- this is sort of just who I am now.
"I'm sometimes very polite and that's all well and good." That's cool. If I call someone a fucking retard once per every 1000 otherwise constructive edits, does that somehow mean I didn't violate NPA? No, not really.
"I will point out blatant stupidity and that's just the way I (we) are." I don't care if you revert bad trivia or explain why someone is wrong on a talkpage. I do care if you are consistently rude to other editors while doing so.
"I'll act however I go goddamn please." <-- lol.
If you want to contribute constructively, fine, but do it without being nasty. Apparently you learned nothing from your experiences at GuildWiki, because I see you're pulling the same type of crap here and the only reason I bothered posting here was to hopefully protect GWW from the same type of drama you caused over and over until you left GuildWiki. – Emmett 21:10, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
People have different opinions on things. While I'm guilty of imposing my standards on others (something of a human trait) to be fair, that's kind of what you're doing here.
I could respond to every one of those points, in some cases with a different point of view, in some simply pointing out a mistake, but I really don't see this discussion leading anywhere useful.
And you're calling me out for being abrasive and laughing at a typo on the internet. I could respond to every point in turn, and we could get a nice little argument going. Is that really what you're here for?
You're not exactly making yourself look any better than I do, which makes you look somewhat hypocritical. User A F K When Needed Signature Icon.jpg A F K When Needed 21:19, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
If having an argument would actually get you to listen to what other people are telling you for once rather than just making vague unsupported statements and red herrings, then yes, I'm willing to have it. However, seeing as you seem unwilling to even consider the possibility that I'm right (since, you know, you never did on GuildWiki and don't seem to have changed since), I don't quite see the point. – Emmett 21:42, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Why do you have to make an argument out of every little thing? It's not that hard to be more polite. Mini Me talk 21:46, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
polite, you say? User A F K When Needed Signature Icon.jpg A F K When Needed 21:50, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Yes. I am not polite to people who are disruptive and rude. Mini Me talk 21:52, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
That would be you, btw. Mini Me talk 21:53, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) Attempting to disprove someone's point by calling them is a hypocrite is a logical fallacy. If person A, who is ugly, calls person B ugly (when person B is indeed ugly), if person B says "lol ur a hypocrite" it doesn't magically stop them from being ugly. Please try to respond with logically acceptable claims in the future. – Emmett 21:54, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
I'm not trying to disprove anyone's point, merely trying to make it that I don't see a permanent orange border on the top of every page. I've already pointed out you've made at least one mistake and that I could argue with you for forever and a day.
I've also made it clear I have no intention of getting involved in a pissing match on the internet at this time of night.
You accuse me of drama. Then you won't stay off my Talk Page. You're making yourself look bad. Now, go away - please? User A F K When Needed Signature Icon.jpg A F K When Needed 22:00, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Feedback page[edit]

Is really horrible. It should be done for a 1024x768 resolution. As it is, you have this giant image, and someone has to scroll not only down to see the links, but over to find the rest. When I load it, all I see is a big black nothing. I would like to ask you to decrease the size of the image by at least half. -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 16:17, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
