Uhh, Auron?--MP47 (talk) 16:19, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
Even if hate me, even if you detest me, can you please give a response in some form or another?--MP47 (talk) 01:26, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

I am asking kindly for an acceptance, or denial, of my apology. Now is not the time to be immature, for either of us.--MP47 (talk) 01:27, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Huh?--MP47 (talk) 01:43, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Please stop being so callow by ignoring my request for an intelligent answer to my apology. Is it too much to ask for? Anyways, I've resigned my administratorship over there.--MP47 (talk) 02:56, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
I was at my grandma's house because my mom locked her keys in the car. Would you prefer I respond via cell phone whilst driving? :/
I'm not yet sure whether I care enough to accept any apologies yet. You weren't (and aren't) the sole offender for GuildWiki being bad. -Auron 03:39, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
I wasn't referring to that. Earlier, you responded with "42," which, while humorous, was not the type of answer I was looking for in a serious question. I hope that you can come to forgive me eventually, and, while I may not be the sole offender, I certainly was a large cause of the mess that's been happening over there recently.--MP47 (talk) 03:41, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
I didn't have the time or the desire to respond seriously to you earlier, and I'd have offended you either way. Either I could have said nothing and you'd have thought I was ignoring you, or I could have put something like "42" in lieu of a long and complicated message and got back to it later. -Auron 03:49, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
silly silly arguments. did i mention i am bad?

(RI) I ask this out of purely selfish grounds, Auron, but...are you dissatisfied with my conduct as well? Entropy on GuildWiki, 24.6.147.36 03:58, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Actually, I am quite impressed with your conduct. You are the epitome of what a sysop should be; not perfect, but willing to make mistakes and learn from them. Even when you're wrong on an issue (which isn't often tbh), you take the time to describe in detail why you came to the conclusion you did; that helps everyone involved understand the situation, and reduces the chances someone will be overly offended by your actions.
I was afraid you'd be hurt by my leaving; I tried not to insinuate you in my accusations, but it might have happened regardless. I do not think you cause GuildWiki any harm; rather, you're one of the few users left who really understand what a wiki means and what it needs to succeed. Hell, people on this wiki don't even understand that, so I'd say you're doing pretty good. I wish you (and PanSola and Gem) luck in keeping GuildWiki a friendly and fun place to contribute. -Auron 04:06, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

...[edit]

Why do you still bother with Wiki Auron? :/

  • GW - Falling apart. Lulz people. No one contributes.
  • PvX - Full of fail. Random "Wtf" spam, etc. Forced to deal with bad people, terrible builds, and random anons want advice.
  • GWW - Bad admins (except for a few), the Devs never listen, censorship is prevalent, and the game is bad (so who cares?).

This lulz response is eagerly anticipated (as I am bored as fuck) 68.35.91.2 04:26, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

Sysop Nomination[edit]

Hey Auron,

Just a quick note to let you know that I have nominated you for a second RFA. Please consider it seriously before deciding whether or not you'd like to accept. Linky.

Cheers,

--Indecision 03:18, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

I don't hate you for your vote. I hate you for being white. -Auron 07:27, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
OH MY GOD, you VIOLATED GWW:NPA by knowing a PERSONAL FACT ABOUT ME! I DEMAND an IMMEDIATE and PERMANENT BAN by the ENTIRE ARBCOMM SIMULTANEOUSLY! —Tanaric 07:30, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Can you do that fancy dictionary link thing again? I don't know half those words. -Auron 07:32, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Particularly the non-capitalized ones. -Auron 07:34, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

My opinion about this section as a whole and each individual part of it can be summarized in 2 letters: No. --Xeeron 10:55, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

You don't like Cory either, do you? Kinda feel sorry for him. -Auron 11:16, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

I don't know how you read that into 2 letters, but for the sake of not being misunderstood, I'll elaborate on the things I disagree with here:

  • I disagree with your RFA (as evident from my vote)
  • I disagree with comments that deride the original poster, indecision, like Tanarics
  • I disagree with needlessly bringing up racial issues, even if it is a joke
  • I disagree with typing in caps
  • I disagree with any need for arbcom involvement

Is that more clear now? --Xeeron 12:16, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

It's clear that you don't have a clue what you're talking about. Thanks for clarifying, though.
  • Your disagreement of my RfA is fine. Your reasons for disagreement aren't, but that's discussion for your talk page.
  • I don't see how Tanaric's comment derides Indecision - Cory and I have known each other for long enough to talk shit about each other (and ourselves). His comment was a tongue-in-cheek apology for his vote (at least, that's how I read it).
  • I disagree with your needless censorship, especially when it is not a joke.
  • Your dislike of caps is fine, but it allows people to more easily tell when the other user is joking (for example, I don't think I've typed anything serious in caps in years; it's a tip-off for everyone that I'm joking). If you don't like us adding clues to our online discussions to give more hints about how we're saying things, that's on you.
  • I believe the arbcom involvement was also a joke (which is, again, obvious by Cory's use of upper-case letters).
That's the paranoia I'm talking about. We're not here to kill you or to hunt you down and make you type in moonspeak. -Auron 12:23, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
You might not be.. — Skuld 12:28, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
I don't know why you insist that I am paranoid, but I can assure you I am not. Neither do I fear you, nor do I fear any of the issues discussed above. Fearing and disagreeing are distinct (notice how I just used emphasis without typing half my sentence in caps). And rest assured do have a clue about what I disagree with and what I don't, because those are my personal preferences that by definition I know more about than anyone else.
And another issue you should be more relaxed about: Currently, we are not a dictatorship of bureaucrats. That means, despite me disagreeing with use of caps or other stuff, it is neither outlawed, nor censored (you could also have easily guessed this by the fact that the caps where still there after I edited the page, remember what censorship is). --Xeeron 14:07, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Just to clarify the way I see things. I certainly didn't feel derided by Tanaric's comment above as I took it as a (separate) discussion between Auron and Tanaric (as friends). I also don't have a problem with the language/style that was used by Tanaric and Auron. While I wouldn't like it to become the official language and tone for the wiki, it reads to me as harmless humour between two friends. However, I believe I can understand how Xeeron saw the conversation above. The unfortunate thing about the wiki environment is quite often the context surrounding peoples' messages/conversations can be easily lost.
Lastly, I'm glad you decided to accept the RFA nomination and I wish you good luck with it. Now if only we can stop Tanaric's never-ending personal attacks, we might be getting somewhere :P. (Apologies if that's in poor taste given the current atmosphere). --Indecision 15:21, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

A worthless discussion; created merely to annoy Auron, create edrama/lulz, waste time because GW is zZz, and have a very epic title[edit]

By no means is it a terrible skill, merely outdated. I know all about ineptisins Auron. Check my user page, or even my contributions. Now about your bullets:

  • Oh, if GANK runs it, it must be gud. Notice when cham says "I am bad at GvG". Well, guess what! He is not lying.
  • The best skill in the game? That nobody uses? Wow, we must all be dumb.
  • Ineptitude does 300+ damage, interrupts, and blinds. It can also be spammed on recharge. When did Bsurge start doing thatz?!?
  • Hexway wins, because it has always won. It is just more prevalent now, because we cannot explode bad people with HEV, and instawin the game.
  • Tbh, I play with alex all the time. If you check my contribs, I am the only one who has commented about sineptitude. I know all about it.
  • dR openly states that they win by the split. Not occasionally, but every game. Tommy suggests it at every possible moment on vent. DF is known for their epic movement (which is a clever way to say "split" lol).
  • How dare you? Sineptitude and hexway takes skill! So does bloodspike/Para/and caster IMHO.
  • Diverting Bsurge is easy. Diverting Ineptitude is easy. Diverting 3 ineptitudes/clums that bring hex breaker (lol@koreans) is impossible.
  • Partygon, split, or outgay. The current meta is as easy as 123 Auron.
  • Yeah, you are right. Except they have 3 mesmers, signets, and epic energy management. Ward gets pleaked, attune gets stripped, and you are already having a bad day.
  • Who cares what you can do to Wars? If they split you, and have a 4+ Archer advantage, not like blinding will do much (except get you raped by superman archers). Yeah, ineptitude rapes wars even before VoD.
  • Snares are epic for splits. In your supposed build (using bsurge), there is simply no room. Unless you plan on dropping the partygon or dom mesmer (which would make you bad), you cannot split really. Ofc, you can be brave, and use grasping/hammer bash on teh monks.
  • It isn't everyday one meets a ranger so bad that he forgets mending touch is on his bar. Really Auron, if you can camp 2 Wars running roc/blind set, and a Ranger using Mtouch, without getting diverted, you win this discussion.
  • Anet is baed. A new fact this be? no
  • As a Warrior, ineptitude is a bitch. fuck blocks, blinds, and a stack of 7 hexes; they are nothing. When I cannot frenzy, spike, move, kd, or anything for that matter; life fails and I come here and rage izzy. Combine that with clums, and you have a "fury balanced" game.
  • The biggest difference between bsurge and ineptitude? Bsurge takes skill to use effectively. Spamming an OP skill on recharge, doesn't (who would have thought?!?!).
  • Party healing is vital in today's metagame. You spam PwK. You spam SoR/Ballad to keep refrains up. Without a Partygon, or epic split maneuvers, you are going to lose. Let me show you one of the most common Builds in today's meta:
    • W
    • W
    • P
    • Me
    • Optional
    • Mo
    • Mo
    • Rt
  • So sure, you can put in bsurge, but now your build splits terribly. Not a big deal, can run a rawr flagger (which fails).
  • I agree, bsurge is win, but not the most powerful skill in the game.

--Readem 01:24, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

o, and see my user page for el o el. --Readem 01:27, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

I read QQ forums regularly. That post is old. Funny (and true), but old.
What single skill is more powerful than bsurge? What single skill does more in a game where physicals are the only means to kill anything ever? You might like Migraine, which is great caster hate but is single-target, expensive to maintain, and gets stripped all the time. Stuff like Bull's Strike is great as well, but Bull's doesn't single-handedly impede entire other teams. RoF is a great all-purpose small prot and heal, but nobody builds around it, they just add it in. Bsurge is a skill (as Ensign put it) that should never have been created; it (and, to a lesser extent, Mending Touch) simply destroyed any value conditions ever had. Back in the day, you either dshotted Bflash or you were blind for its entire duration. Monks didn't waste a ton of energy removing condis, because killing quickly was never the name of the game; it is now, thanks to ANet's "balance" failure and huge power creep, so removing condis is much more important than it was before. Bsurge, however, single-handedly turned the "condition" mechanic from a skilled timing method of shutdown to a "spam it on recharge so much that monks can't possibly keep it off all the time" method - which is dumb. Anyway, on to your list of bad logic...
  • I could use the same logic against Ineptitude. GANK are bad players that ran dual bsurge and rolled people. [Me] are bad players that ran triple ineptitude and rolled people. Does that somehow make Ineptitude good or Bsurge bad? No.
  • Uh, since when did nobody use it? I seem to remember you saying the most skilled guilds in the game ran it. On top of that, we've covered this topic already; Bsurge did not fall out of use because it got junker, it fell out of use because the LoD nerf and subsequent requirement of running partyheal in that spot. I know I'm wasting my time typing this, cause you're just going to ignore it again (like you obviously did this time, since I've said this already).
  • I'm honestly surprised you brought up damage. Bsurge out-damages ineptitude at vod, on both protted and unprotted warriors. Against protted, both inept and bsurge will be hitting for 60ish damage - but bsurge will be hitting about five times more often. Against unprotted wars who happen to be in frenzy (as that is the only way ineptitude, with a list damage of 128, manages to achieve 300), bsurge hits for 100. Every four seconds. Also applying AoE blind with every hit. Oh, and bsurge can be timed for a spike; ineptitude can't.
  • Hexes have always been overpowered. Nobody good runs hexes because of it. I (along with the vast majority of the PvP community) don't consider hexes to be a valid build, nor a build that displays any kind of skill. Even you should know that. Hexes are ANet's failure to get a mechanic right, not any kind of a practice-requiring build that allows you to out-skill opponents.
  • We're obviously talking about different Alexs. I don't mean some PvX guy in a top 1000 guild who thinks he's good, I mean the one who's been in bronze/silver trim guilds for over a year now (most recently [Heyy]) and has over a hundred champ points.
  • No shit? Of course they win by splitting. As pretty much the only guilds that actually know how, they've got the monopoly on solid splitting. Scrubs can either run strong split BYOBs and run around like retards (like laptop superheroes did) or just run hexes and sins, which allows them to be bad at the game but compensate by having overpowered bars and mechanics working in their favor.
  • Not even going to comment. Stop wasting my time.
  • I blame ANet entirely for the shitty meta. They're the fucktards that keep nerfing all the viable self-heals and good split skills that allow people to split the shit out of sins. They're the ones that added so much damage to every class in the game that you either take party healing or die in two minutes. The meta is as easy as 1-2-3 because that's all there is left in Guild Wars :/
  • If your ward gets pleaked, you're doing it wrong. It isn't hard to gole -> fake ward -> fake ward -> ward. Hexes are still hexes, though, and take less skill and are inherently more powerful simply because the removal mechanic doesn't exist.
  • You are still vastly underestimating Bsurge's damage, which is probably due to you never having played one. Stop being bad, get into a top 100 guild, run a bsurge, then come and tell me that the damage isn't scary enough to keep a warrior from frenzying.
  • Snares are epic for splits, but you keep thinking snares and blinds have to be on the same guy. They simply don't.
  • I've camped 3 rangers running that glass arrows spike, I've camped a 2-man frontline and the split ranger... it isn't that hard. You seem to be struggling with your reading comprehension on this matter. Let me help you out. Go to the page on this wiki named "Blinding Surge" and look at the recharge. Let's say, vs a decent team, the monk will remove blind in 3 seconds. With blinding surge, that's roughly 50% of the match you can keep one guy blind (this isn't even taking into consideration the fact that bsurge is aoe, which you keep forgetting or conveniently ignoring). Ineptitude gets a mighty 15% upkeep. Skill interruption is nice, but 4s recharge on blind is better than forcing attack skill failure when it already misses.
  • We pretty much agree that ANet is terrible at balance. Or at least at adding features into the game and maintaining balance.
  • As a warrior, I'd much rather have a single ineptitude on me than a single bsurge. You're only running into problems because you're facing (multiple copies of) ineptitude and clumsiness, and more frontline hate packed onto the bars. None of that frontline hate makes Ineptitude a better skill - a fact you can't seem to come to grips with.
  • Yeah, bsurge takes skill to run. Ineptitude doesn't. Thing is, bsurge has no "cap" on how well a good player can use it; it's an incredible tool that a great player can use to great effect. Ineptitude has that cap, and it's pretty low. Even a good player can only get so much use out of a once-every-20-seconds blind and damage.
  • I know party healing is vital in today's metagame. I've said it multiple times - thanks for paying attention. I'm not comparing a bsurge bar's party healing to that of a partygon. I'm comparing the skill's usefulness to that of ineptitude. Stay on topic. Ineptitude mesmers don't do partyhealing either, so I don't understand why you keep drifting off topic.
  • I'd like to ask what you think the most powerful skill in the game is. It's hard to compare against a skill that completely and irrevocably changed an entire game mechanic simply by existing. -Auron 14:25, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Oh, the section title is indeed epic. Good job. -Auron 14:42, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
