GuildWiki Username[edit]

I can be found on (the original/older Guild Wars wiki) GuildWiki as Joseph_C
I am also registered on PvXWiki as Joseph

  • Both of the above are frequented by too many immature users, hence my preference for the official wiki (and no annoying adverts)

/Sig[edit]

Sig subpages are not allowed in this new wiki, sorry. User Blastedt sig.jpgBLASTEDT 09:02, 19 February 2007 (PST)

OK, I read loads of policy, but missed this. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Just something to bring to your attention however without meaning offence: You shouldn't have edited my /Sig page for 2 reasons - it's part of my user-page, (see the 2nd point under the Ownership section of Guild Wars Wiki:User page for convention even though it's not prohibited) and my raw sig (in my preferences) would still contain the link to it. Simply leaving a note on my Talk page (like this one) with the Guild Wars Wiki:Sign your comments link would have been sufficient, for your future reference - as I'm sure I won't be the last user to do this! I would have then added the Deletion notice myself naturally. Thanks. Joseph 11:12, 19 February 2007 (PST)
Fully agreed, Joseph, simply notifying you on this talk page would have been much more appropriate. Cheers. --Dirigible 12:34, 19 February 2007 (PST)

Capitalisation of Titles[edit]

Hi Joseph :) I reverted your edits on the main page's edit copy because we haven't yet reached agreement on using title case for headings. You can take part in the discussion at Guild Wars Wiki talk:Formatting/General#Capitalization of section headings or you could just discuss it on Talk:Main Page/editcopy if you like :) LordBiro 13:15, 20 February 2007 (PST)

Oh okay. No probs, and thanks for letting me know. :) -- Joseph 06:16, 21 February 2007 (PST)

User Images[edit]

Hi, could u pls take a look at the GWW:USER your images break the image naming policy, images should be uploaded with the name User <username> <imagename> and tagged with {{user image}} , you might wanna upload new ones as the ones your using now are tagged for deletion, tnx ~ KurdKurdsig.png11:42, 31 March 2007 (EDT)

Sorted, thanks. ₪₪ JOSəPH ₪₪ 06:34, 8 April 2007 (EDT)

Revert[edit]

I don't doubt that the revert you made on my edit was correct on the GW:EN page, but can you please explain what that note is supposed to mean? In the sneak peak we got to play in The Far Shiverpeaks, which is the Norn Homeland. We didn't get to play in the Charr Homeland. --- Raptors

The key word is "restricted to" not restricted from :) Restricted to means that's the only area we could access. - anja talk 11:15, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
/doh My bad. That was a big misunderstanding on my part. --- Raptors

Sig images[edit]

GWW:SIGN says that a user is allowed one image in their signature. It also says "The image file must be unique to the user signature. The image file should not be larger than 19 pixels wide and 19 pixels tall." Your signature image should be named something like File:User Joseph sig.png and if you wish to use the profession icon you'll have to resize it to 19x19 and make sure that you link to the original in the description. Thanks - BeX iawtc 04:02, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

OK thanks Bex - will fix it asap when I get off GW! Monk josəph Ranger 12:51, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Done. CBB with images right now. josəph 18:48, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Captain Juno[edit]

Greetings. I took the liberty to remove (again) your note about the goof on Captain Juno because:

  • NPCs behavior/lore is not limited by the game mechanics and rules that normal players have to follow (in a real world, you could still use an item personalized for others, and they kinda follow that "real world" rule).
  • The npc only says that she "gave away" the item, never does mention that she expected it to be used. As such, there would be no problem even if following the game mechanics for personalized items.

Whatever. josəph 21:51, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

How Do I get from Shing Jea Monastary to KC.[edit]

TItle says it all can you help?

I'm a Wiki helper, not a GW helper, however you simply follow your primary quests and complete the 2 missions on Shing Jea Island which will lead you to Seitung Harbour. You can see what is involved by checking the storyline, here. josəph 07:46, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Bullet points and periods.[edit]

AFAIK bullet points do end with periods when the bullet point is for a sentence like in the black moa chick article. Seems like a very pedantic points either way though. --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 16:44, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

AFAIK? Blame it on my OCD. I usually only remove periods when editing something else BTW. (And they shouldn't be bullet points if structured as a sentence, so something must be incorrect somewhere, is it not?) – josəph 17:52, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
Mostly correct; however, if the the wiki were structured around correct paranthetical English usage we'd have significant difficulties with both presentation and ease of use. (btw...AFAIK=as far as I know) -- Inspired to ____ 02:14, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the definition of AFAIK. :) You're correct, but if I edit an article and I see things like that, the urge just kicks in! My mistake was to write it in the edit summary which Lemming then picked up on! LOL – josəph 03:05, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Formatting?[edit]

Hey, I really like the way you setup your pages :). I was thinking about working on mine and was wondering if it was ok to borrow a page from your book? In other words, can I make my userpage look similar to yours if I give credit? Your way looks awesome for having a neat way to keep track of where all your characters are and that's something I really need now that I'm getting back into GW after a loooong absence. Sucrebee 19:24, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. I don't mind one bit. The tabbing I learned from Wikipedia. Ironically, I've been thinking of changing a lot of it and condensing some stuff. Also, the coding is mainly HTML so Opera browsers can read it, so if you know your wiki code, you can save a lot of trouble with the tables, etc. :) – josəph 20:25, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

adding a suggestion to a page[edit]

I'm really new to the whole wiki thing and no where on the Armor suggestion page is there an area i can make a new suggestion, if there is i can't find it, it driving me crazy i thought it was a straight forward process. Pathfinder Of Air 21:06, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

You make suggestions on the "Discussion" page of that article. If you think the article needs changing or adding to, then BE BOLD! – josəph 20 February 2009 (UTC)
um its not an article that i'm trying to fix i'm trying to add my Suggestion to the GW2 Suggestions page under armor and i'm so lost and frustrated Pathfinder Of Air 17:27, 4 March 2009 (UTC)

I have another Question for you, how did you do the awesome tab job on your user page? I'm in awe at not understanding how to do that.Pathfinder Of Air 21:34, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Oh sorry I forgot I had this question outstanding! I've just spent the best part of 2 hours looking for the Wikipedia page I got the instructions from and can't find it. So the only thing I would say is look my pages, and any templates I have created. Copy the coding and adjust them to fit your own pages. If you're used to mucking around in code it'll be no problem. Better hurry though, 'cause I'm starting to dislike my tabbing and thinking of deleting most of my sub-pages! – josəph 23:25, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Found it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Tutorial/Header is what I used to make my tabs. – josəph 10:50, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Uh[edit]

Yes they are... Complete the quest, rezone and you can get it again for any of the combat quests. I should know, I spend time farming the HA/GvG and TA ones. You used to have to delete a PvP char and reroll it to do so, but they removed it in a recent update. Misery 14:36, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

I didn't rezone, will have to try it out. Thanks for the nod. – josəph 16:11, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
No problem, it works just like farming brawling, switch district and get the quest again. Just to prevent any confusion, it is only for the Combat quests, the PvP ones. Misery 16:38, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Tabs[edit]

Hi, I have't been on wiki in a while but i want to tidy up my user page. your tabs look brilliant and a was wondering if there's a template i can use? (credit will be given where needed of course) Kraal 11:05, 6 July 2009 (UTC) [EDIT] appologies, just seen the post from sucrebee and pathfinder :D i really ought to read all of peoples discussion pages...

LOL no problem. Have fun with tabbing. – josəph 13:21, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
