[edit] tagging wrong named images
I should possibly better write this elsewhere, but i noticed that you are tagging many of the wrong named user images, so i come up with this idea on your talk: What would you think about new user getting a warning message in the first 24 hours after account creation when uploading images in general that are not in their user or guild namespace, similar to the warning you get if uploading once deleted or already existing images, getting a message like:
You may want to upload your image as
[[Image:User <user name> <image name>.<type>]] instead." I think that would be quite useful, as i noticed that the first thing most new users tend to do is uploading images of their characters.

- Not sure if that is possible; Poke would know better; but yeah sounds like a good idea. Also if it is possible to have <user name> replaced with their username it would be even better. --Kakarot

- People do just have to use the already existent upload form and press user image, so the image will be renamed. I think I have to improve that thing so it is more visible.. poke | talk 17:02, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- lol Poke maybe add giant arrows, flashing lights and sound effects =P --Kakarot

- The simple fact is they don't know they are suppose to choose User Image, because they haven't read the wall of text at the top of the upload form, or any of the policies, they are just looking for the right buttons to push.--
Wynthyst 17:15, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- I do think adding some color... maybe RED to draw their attention to the important parts of that wall of text might help.. or simply eliminate the wall of text and make it simple points... --

[edit] Red frog article
safe to move this? You're right in that it needs to meet in-game capitalization. --
Wandering Traveler 13:53, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah I'd say so, no one seems to object to the move. --Kakarot

[edit] delete old revision
If your still on can you delete the old revision on this image, its one of those images that refuses to update :P, *edit* this one is having problems to on other pages and wont update. Fall 22:56, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) Yeah I noticed that first one when you changed the tag to arenanet image, done them. --Kakarot

(Reset indent) Ok done the Awakened Dervish, Afflicted Ranger and Scuttle Fish. However that last one Image:Vabbian noble f.jpg seems fine on all pages and doesn't appear to have had any revisions deleted so I will leave it for now. --Kakarot

- Might as well take advantage of this section :). Mind cleaning up this image's history?. Dominator Matrix 14:41, 19 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not quite sure what you mean Dom? If you are referring to all the image version reverting that happened a year ago between Bob and Santax I don't see a real need in deleting them. If they were causing the image to not update on various pages; as the ones above were doing; then it would be different but since all pages are using the most recent version it's not really necessary. Also the only way you'd notice them is by actually going to the image page which isn't something someone would normally do on a regular basis. --Kakarot

[edit] well...
i dont see the point keeping coments/suggestion in discussion page if its already been fix? idk. --Ridz16 02:11, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- You can feel free to create an archive of old comments/suggestions and link it to the talk page, but not just delete them. --
Wynthyst 02:22, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) Even though the issues have been fixed, comments can't be removed from talk pages under normal circumstances. It may seem a bit odd but they are normally kept for reference purposes. Also even though most of the next link refers to user pages the talk page section also applies to any talk page on the wiki - GWW:USER#User talk page restrictions. --Kakarot
