The Eurovision Song Contest is a show on TV every year. Every European country enters a band into the contest, that each play one song during the contest. The songs are then voted upon by any citizen within Europe who feels like ringing up (A country can't vote for the song they entered). Preceding the show (usually a few months in beforehand), there is usually a selection contest within every country. It works like the actual song contest, but on national basis. A lot of people have "Song Contest Parties". They get together and bet on who will win the contest. Fun ^^ 0xLunarEffect 23:09, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know why you posted the above here, but it actually brought up an idea of a finnish reference that might be fun for a lot of people in Europe. In the year 2006 Eurovision contest Finland for the first time got more than 12 poits. 296 to be precise, which was more than enough to win the competition. The winning song was 'Hard Rock Hallelujah' from the band 'Lordi'. After that date Finland has been the 'country with rock and monsters' for the whole Europe. Some reference to Lordi or most likely the winning song might be fun for a lot of players from Europe, especially for those from Finland. -- (gem / talk) 01:41, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

- Actually that band was really gay, hypocrisy, naglfar, act of gods or in flames is death metal, lordi is just gay, they only won cuz the other bands were retarded, who the hell listen to that kind of music anyway? --Cursed Angel 09:33, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- Tbh I didn't like their EVSC song too much either, but they do have good songs, imo. -- (gem / talk) 10:26, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- Cmon.. their show was cool.. ^Teo^ 14:52, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
- Not fond of the Eurovision Contest myself and have not heard of "Lordi". Individual taste of music might be a hard thing to implement. Would like to read more suggestions from the Monsters from Finland. There might be some awesome suggestions in that. -- Silverleaf

(resetting indent) I feel I should mention the phrase "nul points" -- it means "no points" and is often heard during the voting stage of the Eurovision song contest (particularly when it's Norway's turn, eheheh). In Britain (and possibly elsewhere in Europe, although I can only vouch for Britain) the phrase is sometimes used to facetiously judge poor performances, implying they're as embarrassingly awful as your average Eurovision entry. --Mme.
