References from popular anime movies may be good to include as well - especially since a lot of them became popular in the States as well. The one that comes immediately to mind would be a giant Totoro-like creature (maybe something similar to the Druids from Proph) Plus, you could also use any of the Spirits from any of the Miyazaki films (giant wolves, giant boars, river dragons, etc.). Or create attacks based off of moves from anime. Something like: Wind Scar: Sword attack. Target foe and foes adajcent to your target take 20...45 cold damage. (forgot to sign)--Ryudo 06:39, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
i think we allready have the nine tail strike that's (me thinks) heavily based on Naruto.Rhydeble 13:10, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
Nine tail foxes existed in Japanese folklore way before Naruto was created...I can find almost no references to Naruto in GW. -AyaStowar
But as Assasins in GW didn't exist before Naruto, my best geuss is that Ninja is almost the same as Assasin, its more logical to be a link to Naruto, which in turn links to old mythology. Rhydeble 21:19, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
Ninjas are those that practice ninjutsu, regardless of what they use their knowledge for. Japanese children played chambaras and ninjas way before Naruto existed. Naruto is not the first series about ninjas, it just got better marketing. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 13:54, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Samourai Champloo ( anime ). Who ever saw the mythical chase of the tengus ending with an hilarious battle in a burning field of marijuana, the baseball game of the century with kamikazes and bushido, all that with rap/hip-hop/jazz/rock'n roll musics ( only in V.O., european distributors did not understood that even the smallest detail is part of the design ), katanas, dirty faces, transvestites, real slow motions ( 1 month per sequence as for the dervish-like woman who literally cut the rain drops ), will never see an anime the way he used to. The next time you go for Mallyx, be sure to introduce yourself like The Great Zethuka' ancestor.

How about some Hayao Miyazaki references like make a type of Asura golems look like the robots in Castle in the Sky or make a friendly creature in the Maguuma Jungle like Totoro.--SirFranz 17:33, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

There are a lot of series and movies that can be used effectively as fun references. But there are some that are used REALLY often. Some examples of them are:

Any reference to this series is usually an instant win. The best way to check a lot good references is this series: Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi. Every single chapter has a lot of references to other anime series and movies. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 13:54, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
