Anguish Anguish

Discussion

Issue
It's like a very expensive version of Pain.
It dies much faster, costs a LOT more, takes longer to recharge and only does a bit more damage, and only then against hexed foes (it actually does less otherwise).
Suggestion
Make it more powerful and decrease the horrible cost. Alternately, keep the cost but at least make it worth it. I reckon something along the lines of:
15 Energy 3 Activation time 45 Recharge time.
Binding Ritual. Create a level 1...8...10 Spirit. This Spirit's attacks deal 5...17...20 shadow damage. Whenever it hits a Hexed foe it deals 5...17...20 shadow damage to that foe and all adjacent foes. This Spirit dies after 15...39...45 seconds.
This would still be somewhat expensive and has a long recharge, but being a higher level it would be less likely to die early on and in hex-heavy teams it would increase the pressure thanks to the fact that it now does AoE damage. Even this might not be enough but it certainly seems better than it is now and we don't want to risk it being OP.

Falconeye's Proposal -- Using Lancy's -Active Rituals-

Suggestion
-Spirit version of Mark of Pain.

25 Energy1 Activation time25 Recharge time - (Communing) - Binding Ritual. Create a level 1...8...10 Spirit (20 second lifespan). It's attacks deal 5...17...20 damage. If it stikes a Hexed foe, adjacent foes are deal 5...17...20 damage. Also deals double damage to Hexed foes. For every 3 ranks in Spawning Power, Anquish lasts 3 seconds longer.

Reason
-The -theme- here is "Misery Loves Company"; a hexed foe is an unhappy foe, but as Anquish's target its so miserable that it -shares- its pain on allied foes. Same function, except that in addition to double damage, Anguish 'bombs' adjacent foes. There's distinced lack of AoE attacks-spirits for PvE (no Agony does not count) and a costly Anquish seems perfect for the job. In additional; should those adjacent foes happen to be hexed... well spread the Anqu... Love. ^_^ This spirit's balance-issues should focus around Painful Bond & Signet of Ghostly Might.

Cornflakeboy's Proposal

Issue
Really too expensive
Functionnality could be deadly with too many hexes
Proposal

15 Energy3 Activation time30 Recharge time Binding Ritual You create a 1...7...8 spirit that last for 20s. That spirit deals 5...17...20 damage with its attacks. If it hits a foe suffering from a hex, spirits takes 50 damage and the last hexes on that foe is renewed for its entire duration. Ok it seems a bit complicate when reading it but in order to play that spirit one have to reduce its power (ie health loss) so I tried to find something related with hexes (because named anguish). Spirit level is reduced according to another suggestion made on my page.Cornflakeboy 12:48, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
