Goal of Change:[edit]

The biggest problem with Shadow Form currently is that it rewards Users who exploit poor A.I. with powers that have nothing to do with the Assassin's primary role as a melee fighter. This goes against the Concept of the skill itself which is meant to be a "Concealment" power that an Assassin is meant to use to AVOID extra "aggro". Instead, they load up on exploitable AoE spells/hexes & Enchants and try to get as much aggro as Possible while facing no risk and very few counters. Until the AI issues can be addressed properly, the Skill itself should be modified to re-focus its use on Martial weapons and attacks to better fit its own class's primary concept instead of a nuker's.

Proposed Functionality:[edit]

For 5...21...25 seconds, all hostile Spells that target you fail, and you gain 5 damage reduction for each Assassin skill you have equipped that counts in a dagger chain, but the recharge of all Enchantments cast on you, and Hexes, or Stances you activate while under this enchantment are doubled. You also deal 50% less damage with Spells and Traps.

This returns this skill's duration to the previous version when the first PvE split was introduced. Also: its dependency on Deadly Paradox will be reduced or removed entirely allowing for a greater variety of direct combat skills to be used with this Elite. This will also reduce the effectiveness of builds that exploit damage-redirection skills such as Sliver Armor or make them much harder to maintain. Before re-applying ShadowForm however, the user may need to let the first version expire to avoid having the next iteration's duration cut in half which will encourage them to step out of heavy aggro for a few seconds if they are surrounded by mesmer & ranger mobs -- this is compensated for with the removal of Health-Loss as well as a slight reduction in Activation time.
