OMG[edit]

I love everything about this skill. Go steady/unsteady wars! -Kumdori

oops, need to sign better :p. anyways, luv the skill, and really love the name -Kumdori 22:58, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
It's pretty funny when used with Grapple, you fall down and say above your head "I meant to do that". ~Izzy @-'---- 01:51, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
Sword linebacker anyone? Crippling Slash, Knee Cutter, Grapple, "I Meant to Do That!", Shock, Bull's Strike, Resurrection Signet, 1 utility (Steelfang Slash? Healing Signet? Lion's Comfort? Rush? Change secondaries?). Who cares if it's quite inefficient (and probably a waste of space), I've just got to see it once and I'm satisfied. Talk bubble is just icing on an already overloaded cake (yum). --Kale Ironfist 09:51, 21 July 2007 (UTC)
Not sure even the Grapple combo is very useful, but this is my favourite ever skill name. GG Izzy! Errr 11:01, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

lol. I would consider just bringing this skill for the talk bubble part.--Redfeather 04:57, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

GG indeed. :) --Karlos 08:27, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

seriously, or better, not seriously, i'm lol right now. imagine an aoh match with some strange warrior build using Symbolic Strike, Signet, Charge to the enemies, Grapple and then Shout "I Meant to Do That!". i'm expecting some funny screenshots. Y0 ich halt 14:59, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

HAHA Really love that name! so funny :P -ArcticWind User:ArcticWind 23:26, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Not to rain on everyone's parade, but from the skill description, the Adrenaline gain might not trigger if you use Steady Stance or other knockdown prevention skills. This skill says "If you are knocked down" and if a skill prevents knockdown, then it didn't happen. That's the only reasoning I can come up with since it has an 8 second recharge which is stupid fast compared to other adrenaline charging skills, which the norm is 20 seconds. 65.24.148.130 09:30, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

I think everyone knew that. --Kale Ironfist 04:12, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
what are you trying to tell us, ovahdrive? the description cleary says "if you are knocked down", so of course it won't trigger if you're not, which is the case when kd is prevented o.O" the first way i see this skill used is cripslash->gash->grapple->this->start over Y0 ich halt 07:33, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
It was more of a response to the first post with the mention of "steady", apologies 65.24.148.130 09:30, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

I cannot help, the skill names become more and more overloaded with references and cheap thigh-slappers, and the shouts are the worst. --Longasc 10:34, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

I meant to say that! ;-) -- Jonas N 10:45, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

this skill wins in my eyes as the best name eva--Tenshi Strife 00:20, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Compare this skill to other popular adrenal gain skills, like Enraging Charge, "To the Limit!". The main attraction then would be the lowered recharge. However, to compliment it, you have to have skills that knock yourself down, like Desperation Blow, Drunken Blow, or Grapple. When using these two skills as a combo, it costs 10 energy, something that really can't be spammed by a warrior on recharge if they are planning to use any other energy skills.--Skye Marin 14:21, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

You have to use this skill when your are knocked down, so it doesn't work with Steady Stance. ~Izzy @-'---- 19:25, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

did he say anything about steady stance? Y0 ich halt 19:32, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

I, personally, think it should be called "It was deliberate!" -Elviondale 22:26, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

The skill only triggers on knockdown, so no, you DON'T use them together. Capcom 23:37, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
-Oops, i meant to have actual adrenal skills. What i mean is, you use one of the blows, fall down, use "I meant to do that" get up, steady, blow again, and that recharges your energy. that was the idea, but I don't have any adrenal skills there, do I? -Kumdori 23:40, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Nope, plus you stated you'd "use it with Steady Stance." I assume you can see how I interpreted that. Capcom 23:43, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
haha awesome this will spawn the opposite of the steady stance. combined with "to the limit" and "for great juistice". tons of adren142.161.90.233 14:36, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Personally, I was thinking something more along the lines of a Backbreaker build like this.

Add a Self KD and other stuff. Backbreaker every 8 seconds is fair. If you used Grapple you could put them on the ground 3 to your 2 and possibly go infinite. Haven't figured out the numbers yet.Gothica 16:27, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

The problem there would be energy management. 10e every 8 seconds is hard enough but add grapple and that's 15e. 65.24.148.130 09:47, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

ok this MAY have some energy problems idk yet, i will test it Friday when Gwen goes live, but with this you SHOULD*once again not tested* be able to keep someone on their ass non stop, well given you time it right which would be great for completely shutting down a monk, oooor it would just be kinda funny in RA --Tenshi Strife 04:32, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

What you could do is grapple, use this, on your knees, then you can keep gladiators defense up nearly continously. Ofcourse, why would you want to lose all your adrenalin every 12 seconds is the real question. StatMan 04:09, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Translation Suggestions[edit]

To avoid some bad skill translations i'm opening a comment for new skills so everybody can post their translation suggestions in various languages, have fun :) --YukoIshii 23:08, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Italian: "Volevo fare così!" --YukoIshii 23:08, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Spanish: "Quise hacerlo!" Ayumbhara 20:06, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

"Quise hacer eso!"

A funnier and better Spanish translation would be "¡Fue a proposito!"

Traditional Chinese: "我故意的!" --Willy sunny 18:37, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Simplified Chinese: "我故意的!" --Willy sunny 18:37, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

"Das War mit Absicht" would be better. Thow that one is ok too I guess! Cowabunga 17:00, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Polish: "To było w planie!" - suits just fine. :) -- 83.30.245.107 12:08, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

What was wrong with my reference?[edit]

Look. This is a direct line from the show Eureka's Castle. I used to watch that show and I am sure a ton of other kids did too. I actually used to imitate the bat that would run into things. This is 100% truth and the reference is there. The show was on Nickelodian. Now I don't think I violated anything here so why did you take it down? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Gothica (talk).

I've never watched the show, so the first thing I'm going to ask is, how common was it? If the line only showed up in two or three episodes, that's not good enough. But even if it showed up twice a show, it's just gotten so common that we can't quote Eureka's Castle as being the original source. Armond 13:59, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
It was also a line in at least a million other cartoons I saw in the 90's. Unless someone from ANet comes and tells us which it's attributed too I don't think it's appropriate. Gothica 17:50, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
It was said at least once every episode, often upwards of three times. Same debate on Guildwiki. Probably going to contact Anet myself to get this cleared up once and for allLord Twitchiopolis 20:18, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Synergy[edit]

This skill clearly has synergy with grapple, or is there a reason not to add it? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Niccy (talk).

Mostly the ten energy combo that can only be used on a warrior primary. Misery 13:39, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Name[edit]

Somehow the name of the skill reminds me of 'Lord of the Rings' Where Gimli falls off his horse and says 'That was Deliberate'...got anything to do with that? IDK! Cowabunga 15:42, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

No. --User Oneshot O.JPGneshot 11:13, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
Yer I went lookign this up... but it seems its such a common saying smattered accross such a wide feild that its hard to say where the direct reference could be made without asking... see http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main.IMeantToDoThat MrPaladin talk 12:40, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
