Talk:Arcane Conundrum
What's with the Arcane Conundrum icon used here? — Rapta (talk|contribs) 22:58, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
- Freaky! --Lemming64 23:00, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
- That's Arcane Conundrum's icon after having a few drinks. --Redfeather 18:53, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
All three of the icons there look much much better then what I normally see here or in game. They looked like they were cleaned up before use, and the person who did it probably thought the hypno-spiral looked bad. Which it does. =P RitualDoll 19:20, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
does the 2x casting time add up with the 2x casting time of daze?
- i bet 50€ it does , 20 secs of meteor shower,or 15? thats the question :p 84.192.144.207 18:09, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hey it doesnt. There is a stack limit of 50%. I want your money... 77.186.67.196 11:45, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
Hero Skill Trainer[edit]
Does this skill trainer in Chantry of Secrets learn the skill? It appears to me as not, though I might be wrong. Still, he cannot teach it to me and my hero's - using unlocked skills - cannot use it. See here for the evidence: http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/579/arcaneconundrumkt0.jpg — FHM TALKS 21:14, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- Shouldn't it be under Illusion Magic, not Domination? - HeWhoIsPale 21:33, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Note[edit]
"Makes interrupting easier because the spells take longer to cast." I would never have guessed it. Why don't we say that Blood is Power allows you to cast expensive spells more often because it doubles energy regeneration? Shouldn't the notes give more useful information like the ones on Migraine? icon[edit]
what is it? it looks like an axe wearing a crown... Materia user 20:09, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
It looks like the Daze condition bubble effect around a staff. It kinda sorta maybe fits. Justice 06:04, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
Rock tied to stick, I guess? -- ᴥ GreyGhost (talk!) ᴥ 03:34, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
- Well, to me it looks like "A Cane" with a rock tied to it, but why the rock is there is a bit of a conundrum. A...cane Conundrum. Captainofithilien 21:16, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
Energy[edit]
If this is applied to multiple foes, does it give energy multiple times on end? It seems like it would, but, knowing anet, that's not a given. — Raine Valen 16:11, 7 Dec 2010 (UTC)
- The note says it does. Testing it in the isle of the nameless confirms it. Cheapy 22:08, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
- Dang, that's some serious gain available. --ஸ Kyoshi 22:10, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
- Sure does - awesome to have Soul Reaping for a mesmer :) --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 22:12, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
- The note wasn't there when I asked. :3 — Raine Valen 22:31, 12 Dec 2010 (UTC)

- Holy frick...you dont even have to cast it on casters for an energy gain. Blah...gole still trumps this though and its not a delayed energy gain. Would have to drop this on like 3-4 (only run 14 illusion so 4 for me) foes to compete with gole. Justice 23:52, 6 February 2011 (UTC)

1)the main use of AC is slowing enemy cast times (utility) 2)AC recharges less time than GoLE 3)the end effect AC energy gain is part of a cycle effect that returns potentially more than spent whereas GoLE is only good for 2 spells/30sec and you'd have to pick +10e spells to make it worthwhile when most mesmers are supposed to be interrupting with 5e spells. You know what they say about apples and oranges ppl....... -Wrei 110.175.241.56 17:21, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
- Were just looking at the energy returns on it. No reason to freak. Justice 12:31, 18 February 2011 (UTC)
No energy gained on enemy death?[edit]
Do you gain energy from this hex when the foe you casted on it dies while hexed? Because it looks to me as not.82.95.85.186 14:29, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
- Also, if you use this with Sum of All Fears does it double the 33% casting time, making it 66%?
- Read above, increased cast times caps at 150%. So, no, it wouldn't. FleshAndFaith 20:07, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
- The cap for increased cast time is +150%, as opposed to just 150%. Migraine + Arcane Conundrum causes the target to cast Meteor Shower for 12 seconds. Sum of All Fears should theoretically stack with Arcane Conundrum additively to +133%. Random Weird Guy 21:29, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

Hero AI[edit]
- "February 05, 2019 update; please verify changes to AI behavior.
- The AI will cast this on foes that do not cast spells, whether or not there are enemy spellcasters adjacent to the target."
- The comment on the first line's removal was "they gain energy anyway". The note on the February 2019 update referred to fixing AI behavior, suggesting that heroes, henchmen, and monsters will now cast this on spellcasting foes. Was the AI not fixed? Blue Totoro 00:55, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
