Ironically, if you go in with a "normal" build the doppleganger will usually beat you with its superior stats, making joke/gimmick builds the best way to beat him. But yes, yay for easy 100 zoins.

Not just 'joke' builds - PvE-only-heavy builds also make ridiculously short work of it since the doppelganger can't use the PvE only skills... throw in a pet that it can't use too... and, well, easiest 100 zoins evar :p 82.69.0.3 18:05, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

There are a lot of ways to tackle the Doppel. I once had trouble with my Warrior but now that I have max'd several titles out, using Necro secondary w/ 12 Curse + Insidious Parasite and Pain Inverter, you can knock it out in under 10 seconds. The Ranger profession is the only one I had to build a full skillbar around Pet attacks. Mesmer/Necro is also simple with Physical Resistance and only a few points in Inspirational. I managed to go in with my Monk with a 55 armor set (minus the -50 Cesta) and still won (16 Smite, 11 Curse, rest in Protection: P Spirit, Retribution, Insidious Parasite). Not sure about other professions but anyone with a necro profession (primary or secondary) can easily walk by this w/o any issue. 600 zoins is my final tally for all of my chars that have access to this mission. — Sixshot 04:28, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

I saw today many people asking for builds and such. Big tip: Just go Beast Mastery, bring a pet and Heal Other just in case. Even with a lower lvl pet you can win this in HM by leaving the pet get all the agro and you hiding somewhere around. Also, as stated above, use PvE-Only skills if you have any. Anomaly with the quest update

When doing this on my Elementalist earlier, I failed the mission in HM, but the Doppleganger died shortly after me (yay for burning from Searing Flames?). In any case, even though I failed the mission, the Zquest still gave me credit for completing it in HM. Is this supposed to happen, and I can't read, or is this just a mistake? I think that happens with the regular mission too. In any case you still kill it even though you wont get the drops/exp. Justice 20:03, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

That happened to me, too. In Hard Mode the doppleganger died after I did, the mission failed, but the Zaishen Mission says that I defeated him in hm and could collect the reward. Should this be posted as a bug or an anomaly on the page? -- Wizard Bihuq 04:38, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

It's a little of both. The base objective says you have to kill him, which you did (whether or not you completed the mission doesn't matter according to the text). The bonuses say "complete the mission" which you failed to do. ~Shard 05:18, 15 July 2009 (UTC)

Easy mission exploit

Just precast Echo before cinematic and cast sin support once inside on doppleganger, use snowstorm once his hp is low and Finish Him off, (Get Staff with energy mods if your energy is low). The build can be use in HM/NM-Wracken 23:14, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
