I think this skill could use a slight buff, I think adding +dmg would be a nice addition. 10...62...75 would make this skill much more attractive. --Lou-SaydusUser Lou-Saydus Hail Storm.jpg 19:49, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

I can't comment on PvP but I use this skill all the time in PvE, especially Hard Mode, where an instant daze on certain casters is important to have and you can't afford to let them get spells off while you wait for the Broad Head Arrow. I don't know if a buff is needed or not. Of the three non-conditional daze skills out there, this one compares favorably with the others. Unlike Broad Head Arrow and Spear Swipe, this is a spell and can't be blocked, which is probably why it has the shortest daze duration. Broad Head Arrow in particular is very easy to dodge which is why it's OK that its duration allows you to keep a target permanently dazed. The energy cost probably works out to be about the same (15e on an assassin with 4 pips vs. 15e reduced by expertise on a ranger with 3 pips vs. 10e on a paragon with 2 pips are probably all similar once you do the math). Instead of damage, I do think it would be great if this skill inflicted blindness like Temple Strike does, since it's only useful against casters as it is. But that might be too powerful. -- bcstingg (talkcontribs) 13:42, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

This skill no longer interrupts anything. 82.4.229.138 13:29, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Tested on the Isle of Nameless. Does not interrupt: Binding Rituals (Shelter), Skills (Troll Unguent), Signets (Healing Signet). It does interrupt Spells (Healing Touch). 91.83.5.9 11:33, 2 November 2007 (UTC)
actually, i think this skill wont get a buff simply because it doesnt only add daze, it is one of the "faster" recharging shadowsteps. so i doubt this will get a buff of any sort, because most of the gw community seems to think that shadowstepping is imba. on another note, i admire this skill, its an unconditional daze, and if you are good with energy management, you can use this skill to its full potential, i always use a silencing mod with this at 14 shadowarts for 12 secs of daze. i also use a 5 attack chain that can kill in 8-11 seconds depending on the target, and they usually cant get off a heal.this skill seems to be overlooked alot, people dont realize that even though its costly, its also a fast recharging shadowstep.--13ThirtySeven 22:30, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

i agree with this, energy is not a problem if your smart, this basically said "FUCK YOU CASTER", this with shroud of distress or way of lotus with a decent chain with golden lotus strike and you got a bar that will make casters hate you--Metal Sazz 19:38, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

It would be nice if an interupt effect was added to it not just the daze, which in its self doesnt interupt anything. I agree this is a pretty good skill but high nrg cost no dmg and aftercast all make it a poor choice for a primary Sin Elite in pvp. just to much logisitic go into its use.68.26.88.241 10:54, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
Last i checked it does interrupt spell. But as for other skills No. But when I pvp with my sin this is the Elite I bring. It Devastates Casters. and says FU to those dastardly Necromancers and Mesmers that where looking forward to killing you with anti melee hexes.--Yozuk 01:10, 28 January 2009 (UTC)

Anyone else noticed[edit]

That although the recent update didn't say this skill was given aftercast (like all the other shadowsteps), but when playing it there is definetly a delay between shadowstep and attack, maybe it's a bug or something? 90.212.161.110 15:32, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

Its always had an aftercast. 24.188.82.8 14:34, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

nah it didn't always have an aftercast. the shadowstep mechanic was changed, and thus effects most assassin shadowsteps. 86.157.198.31 17:05, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Nope, this always had an aftercast. Misery 17:26, 29 January 2009 (UTC)
I'm extremely certain this has not always had aftercast. This & Shadow Fang were the 2 shadow steps that I know of which weren't touched in the big shadow step nerf update. I used this all the time followed with Iron Palm & there was never a delay between the 2, & even after the nerfs there was no delay between BH -> IP. Shadow Fang is still untouched (last I checked), but BH got an added aftercast a few updates after the nerf. I'd bet money on it, this was my fav sin elite for months b4 the nerf & after as well, & I only noticed the aftercast a month or 2 ago. - User Insidious420 Ins420sig.png420 22:53, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

Very Far Fetched[edit]

The haze is purple => Purple Haze? Might just be my mind skipping a lot of steps here...91.177.19.81 15:10, 6 March 2011 (UTC)

Needs a little Buff[edit]

I've been using this for abit now, and i think it's very overshadowed by other elites, i had someone even pm me saying "beguiling haze is old school", imo it need like an added 40 dmg or so, just to make it abit more attractive and more used.

Cut the daze to ~4 seconds, cut the recharge to 10, cut the energy to 10, increase cast to 1/2 second. Same effect, just make it a bit more spammable with a bigger interrupt window. I don't think that would ruin it or make it overpowered, but I do think it would see more play.24.13.211.110 07:11, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
Recharge at 20 and a decrease in cost to 10, daze needs to be slightly reduced as well to make it good. Another option it to give it an initial interrupt when you shadow step to your target. But right now it costs to much energy to be really useful (does not mean it isn't useful it's just limited in use). Da Mystic Reaper 11:03, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
