Problems[edit]

A lot of the names used for the monsters in here are peviously used in the prophecy campaign. Restless Spirit is an npc from a mission, and Enchanted Bow and Enchanted Hammer were from the crystal desert. Problem is its not a resused monster, they are completely different. Enchanted Bows are floating bows, not armour weilding a bow like the old model, the same with the hammer. The Restless Spirit are like the ones from the Mission on Ascalon with the tome, only a higher level and there are necromancers amoung them aswell as warriors. Something needs to be done about using the same names as before. Dancing Gnome 09:24, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Changed the entries about them so it goes to the actual article, and not to the disambiguation page (or the npc page, as was the case with the restless spirit). monster template coming, if noone else does it. Heinrich 13:50, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
My dull mind just noted there was two of the spirits as well, so we need to separate those even further, but don't ask me how. Heinrich 21:24, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Monsters Section[edit]

The monsters section is obviously not complete. I only wrote down what I saw on post its a I went through a few times and forget to get a lot of the Charr I think. Also I seem to remember seeing a lot of spiders in there one time, maybe it was the Warban of Brothers spawn though... Anyway I just thought I would put it out there some monsters are missing as well as the monster levels themselves. Dancing Gnome 03:30, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

There are some spiders, Needling Flamestriders i think, or something similar. I found them on either tunnel to the side of the Fire ele boss (Tyr?) on the 2nd level. They hang out near the lava flows so.... if you want to fight them look for those :) 68.104.205.160 05:57, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

arrived at exit door of the first floor of dungeon and door was not open- one of the spirits was on the other side- had to kill him, then door opened.

Reward[edit]

The article says that the reward for completing the dungeon is 200 Vanguard points. However, upon completion I received 1,500 Vanguard points. Can someone confirm and change? http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/189/gw129ny9.jpg [edit] Ok, so if you repeat the dungeon you only get 200 points the second time. Repeat the Dungeon[edit]

How does one go about getting in the Dungeon a second time? I noticed that it is not as simple as talking to Gron Fierceclaw again and this is the first dungeon I have done but I got a crappy gold item at the end and really want to get a green or the polymock but couldn't figure out how to repeat with out having to find someone else that hasn't done it yet. Thanks for the help this is the first dungeon I have done so far. User:PimpologistPimpologist talk 06:04, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Okay well I guess I finally figured it out on my own. I guess I had to leave town or something because when I logged in to day I was able to get the quest again. Wonder why I didn't think of that before might have had to do with the fact I was tired though. User:PimpologistPimpologist talk 14:58, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Possible Spawn Bug[edit]

On LVL1 of this dungeon, on two separate occasions I've had enemies spawn in walls, far from reach. The first time was "The Keeper", who spawned far behind the door, making it impossible for me to complete the dungeon, the second time was a Charr Blademaster, who spawned far behind the wall, near the map area. LunarEffect 11:00, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

bone fiend towards the end are rangers[edit]

yes i got 3 today also--Wild rituals 09:35, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Nerf of Bug, or Something Wrong?[edit]

Something is going terribly wrong in my 2-man run in this. once in a while, near the keeper (after facing Faze Magekiller) Odgen starts randomly losing health when I'm in battle. I KNOW for a fact that his BiP is turned off, he has no skills that cause sacrifice, and there are no enemies around him at all. yet there he is, losing health, dying, losing his enchantments, screwing up my run. what the heck is happening here? User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 22:58, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Probably Reversal of Damage; it goes back to the person maintaining enchantments, if they're what's causing the damage. So if you have Ogden keeping Retribution on you (for example; I forget how the farm run works), and you attack a Crypt Banshee (smiter), the damage the Banshee causes on you will be Retributed back, but the Banshee's Reversal will cause damage to you, and to Ogden if its his enchant on you. This was a change from a recent update; check the RoD page for the date if you care. - THARKUN User Tharkun sig.png 23:16, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
gah, thats really wierd. I havent experienced this yet, but I'll look into it. Thank you. User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 00:38, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Pretty crazy. — Eloc 02:14, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
bleh, its confirmed. looks like I'll be carrying a third monk in my soloing now. the players will just have to heal 'em :) User-Wandering Traveler Sig.png Wandering Traveler 00:33, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
I've been using two hero monks for a while now, ever since Reversal of Damage started dealing damage to the smiter instead of the tank pretty much. It's rather painful for the smiter to do it when you encounter three Crypt Banshees otherwise. I can imagine it's worse now though, since they decreased the recharge of it. It also allows for a whole lot more maintained enchantments (Purifying Veil, Succor, etc) though, and moving of enchants from yourself to the third monk. I usually end up with 3 energy regen. :D — Galil Talk page 00:44, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
In my experience, the third monk is not necessary with the proper precautions.
  1. Cast Retribution before Holy Wrath. The first of the skills used on the tank will be the one to trigger RoD, and the hit from Retribution is less than half what you'd get hit for from Holy Wrath.
  2. It helps if the tank goes in swinging and catches some of the RoD's themselves.
  3. For a hero smiter, drop a point in Prot and put it into Divine Favor and put Signet of Devotion in. It's usually enough to keep the smiter alive.
  4. If you don't want to sacrifice LoD, a player smiter can usually survive without a self-heal, provided they swap their superior runes off. --Valshia 01:07, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

(reset) Actually, if you have a third monk bring RoD and spam it on the Smiter... it will cancel the damage done bay the Banshee's RoD and actually counter the damage back on the Banshee. It will do about 60-85 damage and kill them faster. SabreWolf 23:52, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Bugged Chest on Third Floor[edit]

Thought we should start a talk here to dismiss rumors and replace them with fact.

  • After 30 seconds the chest completely disapears and you have no chance of spawning it.
  • It may spawn on the first time you try to find it, or it may spawn multiple tries afterwards.
  • Killing the first group does NOT garentee the chest will spawn. It often takes longer then 30 seconds and you will loose any chance of finding the chest.

On a run just now, I noted my clock being at 12:59 when i loaded floor 3. At 1:01, LoD was used and the chest appeared to be there, and also spawned on the subsequent LoD. I'm thinking this rules out the 30 second rumor Noelahg 18:05, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Here is my guess: You have multiple "spawn points" for treasures in each dungeon level. In cathedral of flames level 3 there are 9 if i'm not mistaken. Each time 3 to 4 treasures randomly spawn in these locations. The spot at the start of level 3 is allways shown because it is already on your radar upon entering the map. I think the same bug occured to me in other dungeons as well, when the "possible treasure spawn point®" is in radar range upon entering. --87.245.25.77 22:55, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

I've been multiple times in CoF today, and I had no bugs at all usually there are a few bugged hidden treasures cests for me. I noticed they had an update in which they said they fixed hidden treasure bugs, so I think this is fixed too. Anyone else had the time to check this?--Kilaa1000 18:24, 4 November 2011 (UTC)

checked today and not bugged (Usaf1a8xx 20:18, 4 November 2011 (UTC))

Second To Last Bug[edit]

Are we sure thats not just a Charr Flameshielder with Life Sheath on him? The Charr Menders do cast that.... --User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 20:12, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Probably is. The last two notes seem kind of...off to me. RitualRitualistDoll 11:24, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Other Build may be Used[edit]

--Some one please fix this - I am new to editing. 41.3.142.131 18:12, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

In recent days I have noted some people dont use the 600/smiter combo. I have seen the old Ellie CoF build being used and a Few new ones.

The First is a 3 man combo

1. Normal 600 Monk
2. A Me/Mo Smiter with templete code OQNDATwDPCVRH+IfESoHyk4G
Fast Casting 3. Inspiration 12, Illusion Magic 12
Signet of Illusion , Auspicious Incantation , Retribution , Holy Wrath , Vital Blessing , Life Attunement , Rebirth or Sunspear Rebirth Signet,Ether Signet.
No weps or runes needed.
3. Anyone whith Succor/BiP , LoD and BotGD.
Its a Lot Faster kills - but 600's hates the 1 extra person needed.

And a Few Ellies are aiding in too whith there mass energy storage, I have seen 16 Energy storage (runes needed) , 12 Healing Prayers Ellies. Using Ether Prodigy and just using Mass heals or Health regen Enchantments.

Daggers[edit]

i have dp and on the scond lvl the bows and spear dont let the daggers get close to me and i keep dieing the enchants dont seem to help what should i do

bounty[edit]

if you were to kill all enemies while underhte dwarven bounty how many points will that be--Lord randy taylor 17:05, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

I think the enemy level varies quite a bit. And also, its harder, because you only have the bounty telling you every 5 deaths, whereas in vanquishing you have that counter and the bar. --Burning Freebies 17:11, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

well in HM about how many points would be earned here--Lord randy taylor 19:30, 20 June 2009 (UTC)

in HM - give or take, about about 2000? deldrimor points. at least thats how much i got today. 86.159.99.46 20:05, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Murakai's Class[edit]

I think the lore pretty much covers Murakai as a Necro. Should it be N or X/N in her description then? 75.2.131.26 02:30, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

Neither, we cover facts... on her specific page talk we have proof she drops a warrior tome in HM... by that gague we have her classified as a warrior... For a Lore standpoint however we know her monster and special skills treat her like a necro, we still only record the fact that warrior tome = warrior.... MrPaladin talk 20:21, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Hidden Treasures?[edit]

While going through this dungeon, I have noticed the hidden treasures that are recorded on here do not correspond in location or quantity to the ones I have found. Are these random for people or just bad description of location and incomplete on quantity? Aswed123123123 08:58, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Sorry late. But Im having the same problem. None of the 5 chests spawns in the second area and in the first area only 1 spawned at the end and the one by Faze was in the middle of the room. --DarkShadowSaint 17:05, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

I added 2 additional chests in the room of The Keeper, found in the cave to the right, making a total of 4 treasures in that room. 94.212.57.91 19:44, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

is this still nerfed?--Icyyy Blue User IcyyyBlue Elementalist Blue.png 00:15, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

Tips for Defeating Murakai[edit]

Don't tips/walkthroughs for dungeons normally go on the quest page? Or since it's only about Murakai, it may go on the Murakai, Lady of the Night page. It looks odd here, interrupting the Notes section, going between anomalies and bugs. Jafar 00:38, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

I think we are inconsistent and illogical in how we have things setup. On the whole, people do not distinguish between the quest and the dungeon. CoF run is synonymous with Murakai ZB... and almost no one says, Temple of the Damned when they are doing a dungeon run. We post dungeon info (foes) on the quest page (foes), even though it's 99% the same. We post tips on defeating the boss on dungeon/quest/boss pages...sometimes that advice contradicts itself across articles.
I think we are better off reviewing a new presentation approach that fits how people use the articles (and not just fits our boffo classification schema). For example, the top of each page could be unique (the info box and an intro) and the bottom of those pages would be identical (e.g. transcluded from a single source). Then, when someone looks up CoF, they find a walkthrough that is the same as if they look up ToD or Murakai. If you think there's an appetite for it, we could start discussing this in a more public venue now.
In the meantime, you could fix things on this article as you suggest. But: I think someone is just going to put the tips back here at some point...because this is where they expect to find them. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 00:53, 22 June 2011 (UTC)

Dmg Bug?[edit]

I've been farming this with my A/Mo and noticed that none of the undead take double dmg from my holy dmg spells. is it a glitch or am i just missing something? 205.188.116.5 13:04, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

Undeads take double damage from holy spells.

If you use Shadow Form, the enchantment's damage restriction pretty much cancels doubling. 88.152.25.23 14:14, 26 September 2011 (UTC)

Tyndir Flamecaller Bug[edit]

When I came across this boss, his group went hostile before he did and they attacked him down to about half health before he changed from ally to hostile. Has this happened to anyone else? Nidy 05:26, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

Yep. last week end same thing, they almost totally killed him for us^^
