Non-english characters[edit]

I know this is the wrong place to ask, but I didn't find any better pages, so does anybody know how can I create a hero/player with asian characters in its name? Thanks in advance. --Graahk 21:28, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

You can only use Asian characters if you're from an Asian country (or bought it in an asian country or something). Look here. Karate User Karate Jesus KJ for sig.png Jesus 21:31, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Friend List Bug?[edit]

I have changed my main char's name and asked a friend if the name is changed to the new one. He sent me a screeny of his friends list and it still has my old name and my new name in brackets next to it. Batchie 10:56, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

I believe that is the way it's meant to be, just as any customized items will retain the original character name. -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 11:13, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Looks like it. I've checked the Skeleton Face Paint and it has my old name. Batchie 11:31, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
If it's parenthesis instead of brackets, this is actually the way the friend list works. The name entered for the friend stays even if that character is deleted. The name of the character currently online shows up in parenthesis instead. If your friend removes you from his friend list and then adds your new name, your account will show up in his friends list with the new name (and other characters on your account will show up in parenthesis next to the new name). --PartyAnimal 21:19, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Equipment customized to old name: intended, but unfortunate.[edit]

Support explains why equipment will always be customized to the old character name. It was expected by the developers and cannot be changed (at least without overhauling the game database). That makes it unfortunate, but not a bug.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 18:05, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

I remember way way back during the beta weekends, it didn't work like this, you could customize armor and use it on a newly created character with the same name
That was back when armor had a level req too Viruzzz 19:00, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

Merc Names[edit]

Will the name of a mercenary change if the character it's based on changes? 76.30.128.76 23:07, 13 May 2019 (UTC)

No, you would have to delete said mercenary, read carefully though before attempting such action; in order to get the new name.

Renaming to a name from second account[edit]

Let's say you have accounts A and B. You create a character on A and want to use a name that a character on B is already using. You need to either delete or rename the account B character, obviously. It will not become available instantly, as is the case when doing deletion/rename within the same account. This is an issue I ran into yesterday, and contacted Support about. Unfortunately, with the game being this old now, Support had no idea of the time frame for a deleted name to become generally available. I have successfully changed the name 24 hours after deleting a character from account B. I was unable to change the name for several hours after deleting the character. So... The time frame in which a deleted name is "reserved" at its native account is either, a few hours, somewhere between 3 and 24 hours, or 24 hours exactly. Hope this helps someone in the future. :)
