Confirmed. Eve, Devona, and Aidan have been removed from the CTC with this update.

(Reset indent) (Edit conflict) I jumped around the different outposts, it seems that the CTC is only affected. All 3 are missing from the European and Aisan districts as well. -- Wandering Traveler 04:50, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

- Well Eve is currently in both International and American but I don't know how long it'll last... It'd probablly be a good idea to wait a bit before we further update the wiki to avoid an endless process until Arena Net fixes it or the henchmen decide if they want to stay or go. ~ Sabastian 04:58, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- And Aidan just reappeared. AtraAstrum(talk) 04:58, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Except in International Districts. ~ Sabastian 05:08, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Currently, I am the only one in International and after a bit Eve will arrive and stay. When I leave and then come back she is gone again. I feel so loved... ~ Sabastian 05:12, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Wait, isn't that what usually happends? It looks like if a zone has been empty for some time, the server "unloads" it, so the zone has to be created again when a user joins to it. Because of that, it has to follow all the loading process, which may be slower than your own loading time. I have seen it (the "npcs not loading until after some time" in Henge of Denravi in american territory, and LA in korean territory at least, and both times there was no patch close.--Fighterdoken 05:28, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

- The NPC banishment happened for me for a long time before this update. Specially eve. She was disappearing a lot of times in the Spanish district. Maybe they tried to fix that bug and made it worse. MithTalk 07:10, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- I tried a lot of areas but only the American server has all the henchman. Wonder whats up? 118.92.121.119 08:55, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- An update that made a bug even worse rather than fixing it? Well, sh!t happens :P —ZerphaThe Improver 10:01, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- If there has been an update, why is this page going to be deleted? Why not just come out witht he facts? --Burning Freebies 16:36, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
Stop the puzzeling[edit]
Go somewhere, where they have these henchmen. Invite them. Then go to a district where they are missing and they will pop up for all other players, too. They look in the wrong directions and have no weapons, but after some seconds, they get their weapons and look at Mhenlo. Easy, huh? --numma_cway 10:14, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- the problem seems to be in the creation of instances. This is not the first case of instances messed up. Haven't you ever seen an NPC with a name of another in explorable? Like monsters with names of animals, for example? Probably, when you pick a henchman elsewere and bring him there, the area is checked again, and if the model was not loaded, it's loaded then. MithTalk 10:29, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- If a new district is created, those three henchmen are not there (try it with Chinese or Korean districts). I've seen some monsters with pet names, but I haven't seen this happen to any other NPCs yet. --numma_cway 11:39, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
CTC bug[edit]
This is not new, has been there since the beginning. Whenever there is an updated, the henchman population in the CTC bewcomes unstable.(..)
Removing from notes, but it should be noted on the relevant page. Backsword 13:29, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Which is the relevant page? And if this is indeed the case, it's an ongoing problem, should we maybe delete this page? - anja 13:34, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Delete it? How will that get ArenaNet to actually fix the issue? J.Kougar 14:56, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- That's not the point of the update pages, unfortunately. Anet will be Anet, letting shoddy coding onto public servers no matter how many people notice. -Auron 14:59, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, but deleting a problem away so that folks don't ever see it, will only cause this same thing to happen again on later undocumented updates where someone else notices this same problem being worse for a while... and it also won't draw enough attention to get people to be aware of the problem and possibly even get them to fix it. If the problem is left there forever, and never addressed, but people also try to delete and hide any mention of it, then it's only going to cause more problems later. If it's a bug they'll never fix, then it is one people need to be aware of. J.Kougar 15:04, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- The bug would belong on the Central Transfer Chamber article, just as any and all ongoing bugs. That would get it categorised as well. The bug isn't specific to this certain update. -- Brains12 15:06, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Okay, and if that's the case then it needs to be moved there and not just ignored and deleted. Right? J.Kougar 15:12, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- It might, just might, help if both of you read the CTC page. Backsword 15:15, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) There is already a notice on that page, under the Notes section. (meh, too slow) -- Brains12 15:16, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, but is that tiny little notice with no discussion on the talk page, really enough? Hardly seems to have done the job so far, and aparently hasn't gotten enough attention drawn to it. If this was moved to the Talk Page of that article, and a link was dropped on Regina's page or where ever a bug report might get the most notice, then I think ArenaNet might just have a little more to go on than that little note that doesn't really explain things as well as all the discussion on this page has. J.Kougar 15:22, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

- Sorry, what I meant was to delete the update page, not this talk page. The update page is just pointless and destroys lists, while providing no info at all. - anja 15:20, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- I don't see that, it has a lot more info about the disapearing and reappearing of the henchmen and where and when it happens, than just a simple little line of text that is currenty on the article. J.Kougar 15:22, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- I agree though, that the only thing that should really be in the update page is the information about yet another undocumented update. J.Kougar 15:23, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- You could update the bug notice if you want with more detail - you have to keep in mind, though, that the majority of people who view the wiki for information don't go into the talk pages, hence the existence of the article. You could also thumbnail your images, cropping out the extra UI elements if necessary, and put them on the CTC page to explain further. -- Brains12 15:26, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Why not just move this to the talk page, and update the main article page bug notice to include "see talk page for details" or something similar? J.Kougar 15:29, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- The relevant bug report page can be found on ArenaNet:Portal. -- Brains12 15:27, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

- Okay, then move this mess there? J.Kougar 15:30, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Leave the developer's bug report pages as clean as possible, without the mess. A summary of the issue, by those who know the issue best, would be better than hearsay and paragraphs of text so it can be understood and resolved quicker. -- Brains12 15:33, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'd suggest to leave this page up as it was an official update, though it wasn't a... "real" update, I guess. But one nonetheless. Vael Victus 17:42, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Just to let you guys know, I have been aware of this bug for some time but have not been able to pinpoint the cause of it. It's a really bizarre and erratic bug which has me pretty stumped. It appears that the henchmen are attempting to spawn in unpathable area, but they aren't spawned super close to the pathing ribbon or anything. It's certainly not any different than hundreds of other cases all across the game and yet this is the only time I've seen or heard of this happening. And as far as I've seen it's happening mostly in Euro districts too. Anyway, I should be getting some time soon to take another look at this. I'm thinking that the only solution will be to move the henchmen to a different location in the outpost. I'll try to get this into a build soon. - Linsey talk 19:31, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
added spawns[edit]
Just me or have there been added Frozen Elementals in Bjora Marches? because i have been doing Blood washes blood since Sunday orso to start Blood Washes Blood and haven't seen them since this update.Fox007 19:48, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

The Exploit...[edit]
For those of you who don't know, apparently cannot be discussed... Axel Zinfandel 04:11, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- Wow.....Just wow. I'm somewhat suprised if this exploit was this serious. Though....Perhaps its the late hour, but I'm not comprehending why this can't be explained. if it was patched and the appropriate accounts banned, the chances of replicating the exploit through a simple explanation would be astronomical....hm. Oh well. -- Wandering Traveler 05:04, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

- Indent reset... you know, they could be not discussing it simply to make it harder for people to try and do it again. --Ari (talk) 09:24, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
- Well if it was fixed, then why should it matter if people try to do it? It wouldn't do anything. Of course though, maybe they didn't fix it and just banned the people who knew about it so that ArenaNet still has the power ingame to make items or something like that. — ク Eloc 貢 16:51, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
