I was wondering why I was seeing giant purple numbers over the Guild Lord's head. --71.229.253.172 22:28, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Wow, 2 bug fix updates in one day? --68.32.187.152 00:10, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Well there's some bugs still left, like Defiant Was Xinrae which is doing 5-50 instead of the intended 30-90 and Mirror of Ice which is doing armor ignoring damage and the likes.--ShadowFog 00:14, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Avatar of Grenth is still not doing cold damage...Dominator Matrix 00:41, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
glimmering mark is also armor-ignoring. mirror of ice does cold dmg anyway, i tested with spinal shivers --AnorithUser Anorith Grenths Grasp.jpgTalk 00:42, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

lol that was fast for way of the assassin, well it was fun to use for scythe well it lasted--Metal Sazz 00:45, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

At least they are fixing things quickly this time. ANet seems to be pretty active in skill changes lately, and doing a good job for the most part. |Foul Bane| 00:50, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

It wouldn't be so bad if the IAS only worked with daggers. Taking away the crit ability it had with other weapons before the update on Thursday is nerfing it more than what was needed. --24.225.87.87 01:44, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

ursan[edit]

man i wished they kept ursan the way they had it i think i'm done with GW if they don't reinstated it to original

You won't be missed. :) Arshay Duskbrow 03:12, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
I love it. so many complains to nerf it, and when they do, people are still mad. No one is ever happy these days.... --User Wandering Traveler Oie User Wandering Traveler Sig2.png Wandering Traveler 03:13, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

So many people complaining about this. Just find another playstyle! How about those of us that never used Ursan and still enjoyed the game? It's like saying that the only way to play Contra on the NES was with the Konami Code. Ursan was changed; deal with it. Large 06:44, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Okay! calm down... most of the people are happy with the nerf so don't get so emotional because of one unsigned post. The next thing I would like to see is people stop talking about... like ursan never existed. --84.109.22.194 07:23, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Yeah why are people still going on about it? and why are u saying that u will leave just because it got nerfed? why dont u go back and use the builds that u used before ursan like i have... its realy not that hard.--Azreal of SkyrimUser Azreal of skyrim signature.jpg 11:15, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

The only problem is most of the time it's made Slavers and DoA completely empty save for a few people doing old school runs. Not mentioning FoW because even in HM it's ungodly easy as 1 person can solo 7 of the quests.(think it's a modified Terra), and of course UW will still take ursan because until permas or terras are fixed in some way those speedruns will still take place. Only complaint I have is that it's caused people to seriously overcharge on Gems. A small increase is expected, but no smart person will pay 70K for a set.

But eh, let people whine over it. Most of them are newbies who just got EOTN for Ursan so they didn't really have time to actually play a main build. Those of use who have always had backups in case Ursan got nerfed will keep going about our normal stuff.--Masato 13:59, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Here is a suggestion for A-net: Why don't you guys just put an "auto-battle" option into the game? It seems like you are trying to gear Guild Wars towards the underachievement crowd. I know they are very happy with Ursan because they no longer have to bother with things like reading skill descriptions, mis-aggro and what skills enemies are using. Think about how much happier they would be if they could just check in a box for auto-play and then just walk away or watch as thier characters dominate areas that once too skill and an explorative spirit to conquer. It really wouldn't be any more detrimental to Guild Wars than Ursan Blessing was...... and at this point the game has been weakened and devalued to the point that it is beyond any kind of fix anyways. Also you may as well let the people using Auto-Play keep all thier Loot and be awarded the same titles as the people who actually took the time to learn the game and earn the titles. This would make the crowd that likes Ursan very happy, and since they are obviously the only customer group you want to keep as you go into GW2 it will insure more sales. People that use Ursan don't really care wether they have earned something or not, they just want to have it. They are the type of players that buy in-game gold online because they want to have Voltaic Spears and FoW armor , but they don't want to be bothered by anything as pesky as having to earn them, after all they are all very busy and have too much of a life to spend the time necessary. Who cares how that impacts the honest players that earn stuff legitimately, right? If they don't want to be effected by stuff like that they can just choose not to use it ,right? I stopped playing Guild Wars a little while after Ursan Blessing took hold. Guild Wars no longer offers anything in the way of incentive to play beyond doing everything once. Titles and Economic achievements once provided for a great deal of extended play, but the implementation of Ursan Blessing turned them into a farce. I am not going to be buying GW2, or anything A-net or NCSoft produces ever again. I was watching for this nerf thofor the last year or so though, I knew they eventually would have to do something about it. The nerf shows some thought I guess, but it is way way way too little way way way too late. A-Net you have failed on a scale so epic that you can never hope to undo it. Enjoy the new community you have custom built for Guild Wars 2. I won't be there, I prefer to play games, not find ways to not play them.68.230.155.31 16:21, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Wildcard

Nice rant, to bad it's been done to death. No one wants to be bothered with having to EARN items, it's that way for the general community in all online games. People want stuff handed to em free. You either get over it or quit, which both ways mean one less whiner which for alot of us is a major plus.--Masato 17:29, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

We really don't care about one little gamer having a temper tantrum. Go play WOW.--70.71.240.170 18:03, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

That Wall of diss up above points out plenty of points, bu tis over done. people who rant about how ursan blessign is horrible and and will leave becasue of it are just as bad as those who rant becasue of it's nerfing and are leavign because of that. Either way, both of those types of people can very easily revert to the old-school builds, which were much better anyways, and have fun. All ursan did was kinda of make the people who would take advantage of it lazy slobs who don't want to challenge themselves, like alot of teh world population. The only differences beign that our chars don't get fat like humans, and it's easier to break the habit by not usign ursan period. I for one applaud the guy who did the post below, it would be alot easier to stand soem of these forums if all the players thought liek that guy. Grats to whoever posted the "What's Ursan" string below:) Lord Zepherr 23:43, August 9, 2008 (UTC)

Exactly. Now I think I'll go run Cryway with my alliance, could use another armbrace that'll never leave storage.--Masato 00:40, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

I'm upset ursan is gone, as a PvE Mesmer it was nice to be able to just join a team for a change and not have to worry you'll be the first one kicked the moment someone decides they want another monk or tank --Nela 19:27, 12 August 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, my apologies. Meant it as a joke. I never used Ursan, never really complained about it either. So I figured I was a safe neutral party... anywho, apologies again User Kyle van der Meer Sig Pic.pngKyle van der Meer 14:25, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

Incendiary Arrows[edit]

Incendiary Arrows is bugged beyond belief. It is still possible to maintain -11 degeneration on 3 targets in the area (almost earshot), which means "always" and "at all times" (poison + burning + serpents quickness). This may seem nice for PvE, but in PvP this proves to be ultimatly imbalanced since this skill is just a combination of Barrage and Burning Arrow. And please, anybody telling me it would not be possible to constantly hit 3 targets, just enter e.g. RA and just try it yourself. --82.83.40.113 13:53, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

so i herd spreading out wuz guud 89.239.196.211 13:59, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
I heard fixing bugs wuz even better. BTW, spreading doesn't help much. At the end you have to attack something, spreading alone won't kill anything. The team is just dying a bit slower from degen if spreaded. --82.83.40.113 14:22, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

Degen only really puts a small bit of pressure on the monks, but this is RA we're talking about and braincells really don't go there for fear of death. Reguardless, this does need a fix.--Masato 21:32, 11 August 2008 (UTC)

It's not just a problem of RA. What we really don't need anywhere in PvP is an overpowered version of Searing Flames. --82.83.40.113 22:03, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Isn't the problem with Searing Flames its' spike potential? -- Gordon Ecker 02:19, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Because of its lousy, easily catchable 100 damage for 15e each after someone cathes fire? No, really no. Good spikes either use unprottable health loss (blood magic, deatch magic, nightmare weapon) or small portions of damage (to circumvent SB, like several ranger spikes) or really big damage (airspike, rituspike). The "evil" in SF lies in its additional degen capability, not in its poor damage rate. --82.83.63.204 10:32, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
lol yeah im sure ppl use SF for the powerful burning effect as the damage is too low --AnorithUser Anorith Grenths Grasp.jpgTalk 20:55, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
If burning is the problem, why do all the entries at ArenaNet:Skill feedback/Elementalist/Searing Flames complain about its' spike potential, and why do all the entries at ArenaNet:Skill feedback/Ranger/Incendiary Arrows complain about it being too weak? -- Gordon Ecker 01:55, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
Think carefully about what I have written (maybe first read it carefully) and then think about it yourself. Then come to your own conclusions. A hint: without the AoE burning, nobody would ever care to spike with such a shitty skill like burning-less-SF. Immolate would be a much better choice then. Have you ever seen a team of 4 or 8 people being wiped by SF? It's not because of 1 or 2 people going down because of the spike damage, but the rest being dying fast because of unhealable degen. If you ever faced a SF spike team in HA or GvG you'd know you have won the moment you spread out because monks can easily catch the lousy spike - but they're unable to heal out all the burning degeneration. SF is not a spike build, it is a pressure build. --82.83.60.158 06:07, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
  • Oh, btw, just seen: Rt/R with Incendiary Arrows, Apply Poison and Nightmare Weapon (including Sight Beyond Sight). Did 50 life stealing damage with each hit and put 3 ppl in my team to -10 degen. That's three times the power of standard Burning Arrow-Build. It's unblindable and even Insidious Parasite does 0 damage as long as Nightmare Weapon is used. BA or Barrage don't even deserve Elite status compared to this overpowered IA. All your preparations are removed NOW - minimum balancing requirement. --82.82.164.74 23:49, 13 August 2008 (UTC)
If this is a serious issue, post a feedback entry or make a forum thread, I don't think the devs read this page. -- Gordon Ecker 00:16, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Nah leave it as it is, the above combo takes 3 seconds to prepare, enough chance to do something. If you really like burning, move to elementalist nuker.--ShadowFog 15:21, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
