Roll[edit]

The "/roll" command can no longer be used on PvP maps. Lol'd SoloLovesCakeUser SoloLovesCake RBC.png‎ 21:36, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

lol. --71.229.253.172 21:37, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Well there goes me playing this game. Not really, but why?

To actually answer your question. Players in HB (and sometimes other pvp) would /roll to determine a winner if they didn't care to fight. Watch some HB and you'll see some alternative (probably what Sins said). 129.62.83.208 21:41, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Here Comes Rock Paper Scissors in Hero Battles now~>Sins WDBUser The Sins We Die By Sig.png 21:37, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Must Love this. SoloLovesCakeUser SoloLovesCake RBC.png‎ 21:39, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
The new zquest at the time of this update is a HB one. Perhaps people were /roll'ing to easily complete it? --86.26.110.119 21:39, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes, we were ^^. Good thing I finished it about an hour ago :D Lyra ValoUser Lyra Valo Sig.jpg 21:41, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Yay! No more cheap title ^^ Though I wish HB could be expanded in some way to attract more players --User Karasu sig.png Karasu (talk) 21:42, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

/paper /rock and /sciccors is already in effect to replace /roll... - SabreWolf 21:59, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Next update: All emotes have been disabled in PvP. There goes your /zrank. --Arduinna talk 22:02, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
How the hell do I get a commander title now? I don't actually want to play the format no matter how easy it is. It's easily the most boring pvp there is. 72.145.127.192 22:06, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
You don't. You want a title, you work for it. It's as easy as that. Don't like the game don't play and go back to whatever you enjoy doing. Saphatorael 07:07, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
It won't save problem, you can still play rock paper scissors but you have to approach opponent to see him. Anyway some people in HB created rule 'red resigns' so if those who rolled before now will quit when they get in red team this will go even faster :} Matek 22:07, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
'Red resigns' seems much more workable. RPS is a pain, and will clearly get disabled soon enough.Team coulrs onviously won't. Backsword 22:10, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

There should be penalty for leaving or resigning too often in HB. Matek 22:14, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

There are still two ways to go around this: Team color and RPS. RPS should be about as easy to remove as /roll. Team color problem is fixed by telling the game client to paint the current player's team always blue and the enemy always red while in HB. It would be fun to see:
  • Someone yelling "RED = /RESIGN" in the outpost, and inside rollers yelling each other:"You are red, you quit!!!" XDD MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 22:22, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Could we get a substitute dungeon or new PvP mode now? Chō-Han's Shack or something? Where rolling dice is the only INTENDED way of playing :) 4thvariety 22:34, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

The problem with red resigns is that people who don't want to roll and dishonourable people will not resign when they're on the red team. Therefore if you resign when you're red you will resign more than other people resign for you. Therefore sensible people won't red resign. 82.2.57.121 16:08, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
You know, that was exactly the same with /roll. I don't HB at all, not even for double weekends or zquests, but I was encouraging my friends to agree to rolls, then play the match out of they lost the roll. It screws over rollers and gives them free wins, win-win imo. Misery 16:11, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes there were people who rolled and then fought even if they lost (read: "dishonourable" people) but the difference was that roller normally asked you if you wanted to roll first, so if you didn't they wouldn't lose out. So people were more likely to roll than red resign. 82.2.57.121 16:39, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
I love it yesturday when people are like "/roll please", and I am like, "screw you hippie, earn it". And they /resign :-p - SabreWolf 19:09, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
It was even better when you would roll the start of the match, lose, resign, game timer would start for real and you go off to cap all the shrines and wipe their team while they were yelling "OMG RESIGN AGAIN!!!1" 72.145.127.192 22:35, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
I liked the way you would sometimes get people who asked you if you wanted to roll, and then resigned if you declined. So you won anyway without risking anything. 82.20.20.96 20:00, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

Phoenix previously charmed is still on heroes[edit]

Where? Foo 21:44, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
It's a bug, and hero's aren't supposed to have them. Some mod (Regina?) confirmed this and said they'd be removed. It's probably somewhere on the Zaishen Menagerie talk page. --User Karasu sig.png Karasu (talk) 21:49, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

I get to keep mine too woot--Soul of misery 21:51, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

I added a note saying that Linsey told us they would be removed at a later date, as people have complained (in game, on wiki) that they don't actually know what the deal is with their phoenixes after reading the update notes. Ashes Of Doom Talk 00:16, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Why did it take so long to fix the zcoin bug?[edit]

Seems like a pretty big bug to let sit around for a week. Did they give any reasoning? 129.62.83.208 21:53, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Because they didn't want to push an update right before the weekend and because the bug didn't show up on the Test server beforehand, so the Dev's didn't know what was causing it. --Arduinna talk 21:56, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
Well, it came out last Thursday, and I guess Anet doesn't release buxfixes during weekends unless there's an emergency or something. So it was fixed pretty quickly for Anet keeping business hours. Albrect Karew 21:58, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Yeah would you come to work on the weekend to fix a bug like that, i wouldn't :\--70.48.54.78 23:03, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

That's because you are/would be a terrible employee.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 16:10, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
I suspect either one of two things: some obscure bug only shows up when implementing the update, not on the test servers; or, the QA team was spending all their time on the trivial parts of the update, and just overlooked the zcoin bug. --8765 01:35, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Or, the QA team was spending all their time on the complex parts of the update, and just overlooked the trivial zcoin bug. CC 08:21, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
Well since they wanted each person to spend time "farm" their own zcoins, and not just buy it off of others, the zcoin is not a trivial matter. A.net is trying to keep a player base until gw2 is released. The pet spawning in the Menagerie could be complex programming-wise, but from a overall content standpoint, the menagerie is trivial content. The menagerie is just for kicks and giggles. It won't keep people interested for that long. --8765 16:19, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Oh here you go[edit]

Teehee, now that we have you're money, we'll let you put your items in storage. Sorry for the inconvenience! /conspiracy All jests aside I wish update notes contained more than "fixed bugz", there should be something like a Developer's Notes page for the skill updates, explaining why these bugs are here. So much for transparency. 68.193.113.198

Appearance Bug[edit]

When you rotate the camera and look at your character through grass, and maybe other things, their appearance reverts back to the messed up appearance that the update put on the character select screen until you refreshed it.
