Hamstorm was a suggested tactic in some old ANET documentation (Prophecies manual I think) it said something along the lines of "Combine Hamstring and Firestorm to rain fire down on your foe while he limps away" It was such a bad idea that it became a legendary joke. --TimeToGetIntense 12:37, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

I remember when i first bought the game in 05, i read that on the box and thought.. hmm thats a good idea.. epic fail, doesn't work in pvp at all, it helps a little when your in the begining of post searing when u first get to icy creatures... i still have the box, i'll try to get a picture of it on here later =P

Love the skill hate the cost

Paint me noob but I love snaring enemys with this, trouble is with at 10 energy cost on a warrior it has to be about the only energy skill on your bar (unless your elite is Warriors Endurance) and for all that energy you still don't get added damage!!! compare it to other skills that cripple including the warriors own Cripslash and this is soooo not worth it... Take it to a 5 energy and it might see a bar... make it adren based for awesome.... MrPaladin talk 18:00, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Yer who would guess that a warrior has to use an elite to cripple at melee range, but Dervs get just about anything they want including aoe enchants and a signet... Might consider throwing that pious restratint on my war dumping only a few points into wind... or go for half range dagger spell in assassin line, cheeper recharge, shorter duration and lower cost... They need to buff the whole sword line, and until they do warriors will always use axes/hammers in PvP (I would say daggers and scythes too, but WE got nerfed). Sins and dervs have had better sources of cripple for a while. It wasn't that long ago that HC sword warrs actually used to be viable. So....yea...warrs would rather take sin elites over their own sources of cripple. Doesn't speak well to the sword line. 18:18, 15 May 2009

no, axe is used for big spike dmg, hammer for its KD's. swordsmanship has its uses, more for the adds then the dmg (cripple for example) InfestedHydralisk 18:20, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

for the lol take a tactics sword build into RA with hamstring and riposites and focus on Melees.... I was rolling in laughter as players were telling me how i'm not supposed to have those skills in RA... sure in the long run its bad bad bad build to take (if your not getting attacked in melee it is very weak) but for the lols it was so worth it MrPaladin talk 18:57, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Yeah I agree they can't change this without changing Crippling Slash, so this skill will remain rubbish, maybe lowering recharge would help somehow (i dunno how) but they simply can't lower the energy. if they prove me wrong and do, that's fine but then crippling slash won't see play.
