Talk:Healing Hands

Combining Healing Hands with almost anything, will provide a lot of fast healing or almost no damage at all. Good with: Protective Spirit, Reversal of Fortune, Healing Breeze, Shielding Hands, Life Attunement, etc. Example: Healing Breeze at +8, at 1.33 secs(an attack from Warrior with sword or from an Assassin), 21.28 + 29 = 50.3Regen per 1.33. Total cost? Only 15 Energy, your energy bar will thank you for not spamming a skill a lot.--ShadowFog 02:28, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

It still sucks. -- Mini Me 16:51, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
You know what sucks? Mark of Protection 10Tango-energy.png1Tango-activation-darker.png 45 Tango-recharge-darker.pngcompared to Healing Hands 5Tango-energy.png1/4Tango-activation-darker.png 25 Tango-recharge-darker.png then if you are under Dazed, you wont be able to cast Mark of Protection (increased to 2 Tango-activation-darker.png), while you can still pull off Healing Hands (increased to 1/2 Tango-activation-darker.png), let it do some healing if you had a previous enchantment on you(if you want), then use the skill Contemplation of Purity to remove the Dazed condition.--ShadowFog 12:40, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Comparing 2 bad elites will not make one of them good. Healing Hands is inferior to alot of other monk elites, and there will always be a better choice. --Mini Me talk 15:49, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
You already said that on the previous statement, don't you have something else or new to contribute for comparison, thoughts, example, etc.? --ShadowFog 14:04, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
No worries Shadow, players will always blame the skill when they don't understand when and how to use it. At least, the kind of player who don't progress and learn with the game. FleshAndFaith 16:23, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
Why don't we all finally come to this conclusion that this is a skill for Paladins. If you're a Monk use Healing Seed. It's good for heavy armored classes 'couse it can heal for more than you get hit for, costs is low and fast. Beside heavy armored classes don't get the spike, it's good for 'em, Monks will always go for WoH anyway. Ofcourse it won't work if you use it bad. Nothing is universal. GOD DAMN IT! whiners. --Alistair Cookie Ritualist-icon-small.png 21:09, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Has Always, Still does, will always[edit]

Suck SnowBunny 19:23, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

I run it on my secondary monk hero, and it works beautifully. Also, ever done a deep run? It's used there for a monk's elite sometimes. Calor (t) 19:25, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Lol! That some deep philosophycal analysis by our pal SnowBunny, if by any chance we need that kind of "enhancement" we sure going to give you a call *claps*, give him a hand or two, just kidding, but really. Works wonders against melee characters. You can sit there(with another enchantment, can act as a cover) all day taking damage while healing others.ShadowFog 21:40, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

It's a shit skill. Guardian will keep the player alive better and is non-elite. By the way asshat, it's spelled 'philosophical'. Have a nice day.User:ISnowBunnyISnow Bunny 05:56, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

this needs buff, 20 recharge plz .. >.> 84.192.144.207 12:56, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

That would ruin anets pattern of making all skills that were good suck, and all skills that did suck good. Barkingllama 01:52, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

a buff would be excellent. lower recharge to like 15 or 20 would be good :)

Um isnt healing seed better?+not elite Annoying And Deadly 23:27, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

The thing about Healing Seed that most ppl forget is that Healing Seed targets other ally, while HH can self target. Also, Seed has a 2 sec activation thus making it far more easy to interrupt, while dazed, activation is increased to 4 seconds, while HH still activates in 1/2 second. Seed cost 10 energy, while HH only cost 5 energy, making it useful for warriors (as we all know). This skill wasn't meant to be on a healer bar for monks, but for a damage reduction for tanks (may it be warriors or dervish). So in comparison, the 2 skills are well balanced imo. --88.131.84.218 06:24, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
lolol --67.176.107.126 06:41, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
While I agree that it does have it's niche uses, don't you agree that it might be a good idea to give this an airing for Primary Monks? The only way to encourage that would be... to sling it into Divine Favour and buff recharge times, or make give it a 10-15 energy cost to make it not as useful for tanks, and then buff it according with a Healing Seed Style approach with a faster cast and shorter recharge, ending after a set amount of damage has been taken. Agree/disagree? 192.168.1.1 21:08, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Healing hands is win. anyone says the opposite fails. i were able to solo 3 jade brotherhood knights with it.Oni 15:30, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

I use to use this skill with great success. It is an awesome self-heal if you get swarmed and cannot get away fast enough. It can easily outheal healing touch in many situations (as long as you anticipate the damage). It's a skill that requires thought and practice to use. Not very useful in c-space areas or for people that only c-space regardless of where they are. If used properly, it can self-heal better than any skill in the game. I've abandoned it for LoD, however, as it is very rare that I need that much self-healing. Which in turn allowed me to drop heal party in favor of more energy intensive PvE skills. I would strongly recommend this skill for a monk going for survivor titles. Mohnzh 15:38, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Please divine intervention. It works so much better. It's hard to cap at the start anyway. Then after DI please press the top rightmost buttom ty. Stop wasting elite skill slots for an underpowered skill in severe need of buffing.152.226.6.203 01:42, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
This skill is just plain useless. Worse than Vengeful Was Khanhei in all ways. Vengeful is in a better attribute, does damage, can't be shattered/drained, and has shorter recharge.

Before changes to gvg (old vod) I saw a good use for it. It was in a niche build, but they used a wamo with it to gank. Wamo could easily solo bodyguard. 68.216.106.168 19:41, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

awesome[edit]

don't know what those people above are thinking BADATGW 19:41, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

They're probably thinking about PvP. This skill's recharge hurts it in PvP, but nothing is wrong with it in PvE (although the "HB is the only way to monk" mentality makes it hard to fit in with typical groups).
Ping HB build then SWITCH right before you enter, blahaha. 99.242.245.57 21:54, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

tahlkora[edit]

she wont use this skill at all. She will even use healing seed, when its all the way to the right on the bar and HH is all the way to the left, but wont touch this skill. I guess im stuck with HB or UA for now.--Justice 21:28, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Anomaly note[edit]

I just reverted a sarcy comment about the noted anomaly, however I'm confused about it - "Though it states "is healed", it actually results in "gains health"." What is the difference? --snogratUser Snograt signature.png 01:47, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

The only difference I can think of is that "gains health" doesnt trigger some in game effects, like those from Soul Bind or Scourge Healing.--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:82.149.1.199 (talk).
Ah, yes - probably wouldn't be affected by anything that "reduces healing by x%" then. Thanks for the insight :) --snogratUser Snograt signature.png 01:54, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Combos?[edit]

Blessed Aura + 20% Ench Mod? That a "whopping" 14 seconds, which gives it a 11 second recharge. Good enough for standard use. ->Kade<-

Yes, tailoring half a build to make an elite not suck makes so much sense. -82.149.1.199 11:06, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

You know where the other four skills went? Attribute points say hai. If you're going to pump Divine Favor for a worthwhile Blessed Aura, your protection prayers are going to suffer for it. So when you pick up more heals (or other DF skills) instead of prots (y'know, the things that keep people alive), you're gimping your bar. Tailoring it to make a terrible elite halfway viable. Mhenlo

in raisu palace mission. if you choose cynn she mentions mhenlo bringing along his "Healing Hands"

That's because Cynn likes getting touched by Mhenlo, it has nothing to do with the skills itself ;) Paddymew 18:07, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Healing Hands[edit]

5e/1s/20s - For 0...8...10 seconds, you are enchanted with Healing Hands. While enchanting with Healing Hands, you take 0...24...30% less damage, and are healed for 0...11...14 health every time you suffer damage. Moo Kitty 00:06, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

5e/1s/10s - For 1...4...5 seconds, target ally is healed for 0...20...25 health every time he takes damage. (makes it much more active, catching "spikes" makes it more viable everywhere.) *edit* target ally ofc--83.77.219.91 12:31, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Farming[edit]

Can this be possibly Mantained? Ex: E/Mo= Stonfelsh, Stone Armor (or something like that), and this for heal, then you add energy managements and damage skills.... aint it any good O.<?

...obi flesh? o.o Also, you might want to sign your comments..or a big bad admin will eat you ;O i can see this working for my monk though :D--Neil2250User Neil2250 sig icon.jpg 10:10, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Mist Form. Dervs can maintain this i think with a 20% enchant mod and that mysticism enchantment that does 100% enchants. This skill is no better then ~ -30 dmg in Hm where most dmg is over its healing. Would wrather use Mark of Protection in that case and I would wrather not use that at all. The only creatures capable of using these kinds of skills effectively are Dual Monk Grawl teams in ascalon and Dolyak Riders in the Shiverpeaks. Justice 02:57, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Why use this over Healing Seed?[edit]

Pros:

  • Less energy.
  • Significantly less cast time.
  • Heals for slightly more.
  • You can target yourself with it.

Cons:

  • It's elite, which is obviously a very big drawback.
  • It doesn't heal other allies, only the target. Yes, Healing Seed only heals adjacent allies, but that can still be helpful, especially when you're running with a minion master, which is very common.

Conclusion: You're better off using Healing Seed if you want functionality like this and picking another elite. This needs a little something extra to make it used more. Pjwned 23:45, 2 April 2011 (UTC)
