It's just a crappier version of the ice crown.

Seems to be a bug in LA as well. Annoying. Maybe they should put a collector for candy shards or something for those who glitch out? (I'm going to be busy for most of the period this year, so if it gets fixed after I've been forced to leave the computer running AFK and I get disconnected, said fix isn't going to help me much...) No hat

Just sat in American Dist 13 of LA... no hat. Didn't have a problem with a Dwayna winning dist. Seems to be a wide spread problem with the Grenth hats, really. Serious bummer. I was just in American Dist 22 in LA and I didn't get a hat either. Everyone is pretty angry about it! (The 11:00 event, 1 January 2010 GMT)

I was in LA American dis 55 and got no Hat, but some people in the district did. The same thing also happened to my other account in Kam. Some got hats and others didn't. I hope this gets fixed soon. Dragonlord Tony 11:49, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

I can also confirm this bug, several of my guild members as well as myself failed to receive an Ice Shard Crest upon Grenth winning (in an odd numbered district). We were all in different districts and towns. A couple of my guild members were even going for the Dwayna hat and failed to receive it when Dwayna won. There were people in the same district who received their hats though, so it seems to be wide spread but not absolute.--RunningInTheMist 11:57, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

No hat in LA American Dis 9, either. Not a single person there confirmed that they received a hat when asked, just a bunch of confused and disappointed unfortunates (it is true that some players may have received one while AFK and thus unable to answer, but the problem is affecting a great many people). Comments: Not related to wearing dwayna hat. One player claimed that it might be harmed by wearing an old festival hat. Another player apparently lost their helm.

Not a Hat but a Costume Headpiece

I think it should be noted that this year's "Festival Hat" isn't actually a hat, as it has been in past years, but rather a Costume Headpiece, that fits over your armor but visually removes whatever helmet/mask/aura/tattoo/headwrap/crest/hood or FORMER Festival Hat you may be wearing. Fix Needed

Even if not spend most of time in design, but do it on the (payed) costume thing, at least try to fix the bug so the people out there can get they hat if the want. Also like some one sayis use a collector if not or some what...-unsigned
