Talk:Mark of Rodgort
Acquisition[edit]
I do not know where it can be acquired, if someone knows it submit. Thanks to Lemming64. --Kronin 12:30, 27 March 2007 (EDT)

ALL HAIL TROGDOR![edit]
THATCHED ROOF COTTAGEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!...But seriously though, i enjoy the fact that even Anet enjoys the enigmatic trogdor, who sneaks up behind you in Guitar Hero 2 and this game. Hooray for beefy arms coming out of necks and retards!!!! (Trogdor's arm and Homsar...)--Raph 23:01, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
Equivalent to reapplying a conjure nightmare on target?[edit]
The burning duration might look short, but with the long duration of the hex and reapplying burning every time the target takes fire damage is basically the equivalent to reapplying the Mesmer skill "Conjure Nightmare" on a target (minus one health degeneration of course)without having to use up your energy.Highway Man 02:26, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- You could think of it like that, I guess. That's why it's a relatively popular skill. -- Mafaraxas 03:53, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
This skill needs a two second casting time because it combines too well with other skills and even better than necromancer hexes and also to simple to apply to targets and serves as one of the best cover aoe hexes in the game (due to it not being consider a joke such as Shadow of Fear and players will be hesitant on whether or not to remove it).William Wallace 03:05, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- You can't really compare necro hexes to this, seeing as each has its own purpose; necro hexes are more for the non-degen benefits; the degen just adds moderate pressure. This is just meant for raw killing. -- Mafaraxas 07:36, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- Indeed it is. In a fit of boredom I loaded up Pyre with Greater Conflagration and Vekk with Mark of Rodgort. I can think of better ways to use skill slots, but it sure was fun seeing every enemy on the field ablaze. KrelusDerian 01:00, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- Add a para with They're on Fire!. Is it just me or is this extremely powerful hex. Imagine equipping your warriors with fire weapons. This hex adds 14 dps on target. That about as much as necro's Barbs. --Spura 22:31, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
- It is pretty powerful. We've got it on Sousuke and my Ele when I'm not using a water/air or earth/air build; combine with two rangers using fire bows or preps, my Koss who already had a random FDS and conjure, and maybe one of our monk heros plinging with the occasional fire damage from a holy rod (if they had that, forget.) The dervy hero dosn't have a fire weapon, but, Heart of Holy Flame. Fwoomf. Apply any cheap and or aoe spells as well -- lava arrows are win for that. Yeah ... this is probably the one spell that keeps fire magic on my bar at all ^_^.
- (This was me, on about 20:00 June 24th 2008 --Star Weaver 15:28, 1 July 2008 (UTC))
- Removed Glimmering Mark as related skill, cause it is completely different after patch --Serina 10:09, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
- For that matter, aside from in name, is Rodgort's Invocation even related?--Revelations 10:20, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
- The nice thing about it is you can just wand people to set them on fire. :-).
- The NASTY thing about it is if you use this, then a bow with a Fiery string and Barrage... maybe use an IAS stance... constant burning...
- sign your comments with ~~~~. Second, people who do that use conjure fire too. It seems to be quite effective. I haven't tried it, but people say it is nice. StatMan 19:59, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

yak's bend[edit]
this skill can be bought from there as well. add to skill trainers? 90.207.56.106 19:24, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
- Are you sure? you can buy skills that you've unlocked before from most trainers - Byakko 10:31, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm pretty sure I would have seen it at Yak's the first time through, though not positive; I had to go cap it from a really annoying fire imp in kryta while I was still in Maguuma area (Prophecies mains are currently being blinded over in the southern bloompeaks, still no ember light camp :). --Star Weaver 13:00, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Has any1 tryed using this with greater conflaration?? it would cause mass burning --User:Dave the Gale Force 18:10, 21 NOvemeber 2008 (UTC)
- Skill is not in Yak's Bend. Need proof?--iRathur 19:34, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- Standing in Yak's bend and trying to get it, but Osric doesn't have it. I'm removeing him from the list. 194.239.247.126 13:00, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
- It IS available in Yak's Bend, see here: [1] Elysea 03:45, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- That pic shows that it is already unlocked on your account, and so is not necessarily available. Based on the other reports, I assume he does not have it.--67.240.83.137 04:05, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- It has to be available there, otherwise, it wouldn't even show up as "unlocked." It wouldn't be showing up there at all; otherwise, I'd be able to buy all the skills I unlocked from Dakk from Osric. I bought it on my Assassin there and didn't think to screenshot it. Elysea 04:15, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- Well, I'll be damned, it's available in Ascalon too. I know I bought it on my Assassin in Yak's, but since I don't have proof of that, I won't revert. Eating humble pie, carry on! Elysea 04:19, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- It is only available from those trainers if you have previously unlocked it on your account. -- Wyn 04:21, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I realised that after I posted, logged in, and checked. But, since we can't change talk pages, I'll just distract y'all with cookies and pretend I was never here. >.> Elysea 04:22, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

(Reset indent) It is not available there. I just checked to make sure. Also Dakk already has all prophecies skills and he wont sell you skills from another campaign. Drogo Boffin 04:24, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Low Energy Cost?[edit]
I wouldn't say 15 Energy is low. Note fix?--iRathur 19:32, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- Aggree, note should be changed to, can be used to spread burning using low cost fire spells or no energy cost with fire damage weapons.... there are many lower cost fire magic spells that cause burning MrPaladin talk 19:36, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
- Misread, my bad.--iRathur 02:29, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
Im an elementalist and my fire wand doesnt work on mark of rodgort, it needs some spell to start burning.(Aria Lliane)
Capt'n Osric[edit]
doesn't offer it by default. You can buy skills you already unlocked from any trainer. — Why 19:56, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- Very true... As discussed in the "Yak's Bend" topic just above. Freedom Bound 19:57, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
- Ah. I'm stupid. :P — Why 20:11, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
If Anet really wanted to screw with us[edit]
They'd add more skills to prophecies trainers so no one would know exactly who gives what. StatMan 14:10, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Physical fire Damge, no effect?[edit]
Physical fire dmg doesn't seem to work. At least when I used Greater Conflagration physical attacks did not inflict burning. Titania La Fey 06:08, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
Searing Flames?[edit]
How well does this work with Searing Flames? --Random Weird Guy 11:56, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
Not very well, in my opinion. Heroes spam this with other skills and hardly use searing flames. It's a waste of 15 energy tbh. As far as heroes goes, just run 2 nukers with searing flames and this skill is irrelevant. As far as a player build goes, you have to be very good at timing this. Try to hit a caster mob, as melee will scatter all over the place. Even then, I haven't seen this skill prove to be that useful. With 2 nuker ele's, everything burns all the time. Making this skill rather redundant. Just my 2 cents anyway.74.243.163.24 02:23, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
