Talk:Martyr
combine with purge conditions any1?--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:85.147.189.2 (talk).
- You could, but I think Mending Touch would work better here as it removes 2 conditions and has a faster recharge time.--§ Eloc § 20:57, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
- That or another monk with Restore Condition.--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:68.35.88.45 (talk).
- Isn't Cautery Signet better since you are only set on fire instead of getting multiple conditions? comment was added by Demonic barb
- I think this skill is way useful for secondary monks with no primary elite - when u are at low health just use martyr to help all your aliies in AB.
- In areas with environment affects like Poison, I always carry this skill... well, I usually stick to my favorite word of healing, but I have a hero take it. It works wonders. MiraLantis 10:12, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- The recharge should be lowered to 5...Bive
Durations[edit]
Do the durations stack? Say there are two party members, and each has bleeding with a duration of 10 seconds... would you then get it for 20? Thehockeydude44 23:28, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
- No. If there are 2 party members bleeding, 1 has 5 seconds left, the other 10, you are bleeding for 10 seconds: the longest duration. Dragnmn talk cont 13:44, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
does the monk get the healing from devine favor? i mean it targets all allies but not really the monk them self. Oh and if they wanna make people use this skill they should knock cast down to 1/4 and make it 2sec recharge ;-)--Justice 08:15, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
- That question might be better suited at Talk:Divine Favor or HELP:GAME. — ク Eloc 貢 19:11, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
Mhenlo[edit]
Does anyone else think that the guy in the skill icon looks like Mhenlo? 71.224.201.81 02:52, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- It is. I've added a Note to it under Notes 70.121.168.43 20:31, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
AB[edit]
Has anyone used it in AB? If so...what was your experience when using it. Been a long time Ive played a monk.--ShadowFog 16:58, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
ive considered it. But remember its all allies on the compass. That includes any of the 12players, pets and minions and any kurzick allies. Your going to feel some pain using this there...but the rewards are staggering if using with a skill that can remove multiple conditions from yourself at once. If you want a less brute force skill consider Pure Was Li Ming--Justice 06:16, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
- I'd use Cautery Signet instead, personally. 87.210.150.58 19:22, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
um cautery signet is party members only. thats 4 peeps where as martyr is all allies on compass. if your going to waiste your elite at least do something.--Justice 08:46, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Arcane Mimicry this on a N/Me Contagion + Dark Aura.
Party Wide Conditioning, Oh and maybe another N/ME to double that?
8 conditions = 8x40 Damage x 2 (necros) =
640 Adjacent Damage every 10 seconds, oh wait and if you arcane echo'd this,
640 damage x 2 = 1280 damage in 2 seconds every 10 seconds ^^

Ally[edit]
Is this all allies like it states, or just party members? If allies, what's the range? Thanks. Mr.Hobo 22:59, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- Whoops, read the notes for the range... it is all allies which could be interesting in AB... Mr.Hobo 17:59, 11 April 2009 (UTC)
- Quite fun in AB, try coupling with skills like Resilient Weapon or Resilient Was Xiko or just use Mending Touch, Purge Conditions. ~ Chao 12:18, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Infuse Condition?[edit]
Anybody else see the synergy? I mean a Mo/N running Martyr, Infuse Condition, and Animate Bone Minions with 3 Death Magic? You would only use the bone minions to get rid of the conditions yourself, gonna try this sometime when i get around to it C4K3 Talk 09:21, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- your better off taking matyr in place of an elite on a real mm instead of wasting your monk's elite and energy for making minions--173.63.177.146 16:21, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
- That's 3 skill slots, require corpses, take 3 seconds to create minions (without getting interrupted), fragile against enchant-removal and cost 20 energy. purge conditions is AnorithTalk 15:09, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
- Or you can choose not to bring bad skills and take foul feast. Pika Fan 15:12, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
¼ and cost 5 energy, resilient was xiko is also 5 energy and Cautery Signet on a midliner is just so much better as this isn't what a monk should be doing anyway. -- - There used to be a "Martyr Master" build on PvX that had a MM with Martyr and infuse. However, I think that was before Foul Feast (or at least, I hope it was). Just use FF. It's sooooo much better than Martyr. Karate Jesus 15:19, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
- The funny thing is, people are suggesting terrible skills to replace equally atrocious skills. Replying to something that has been dead for oh-so-long-ago. Pika Fan 15:22, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
- Foul Feast transfer from only 1 ally, if you can read; 1 ally isn't whole party. pls learn to read before making dumb elitist remarks. --AnorithTalk 01:42, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
- Lol u rly use it over RC WOH LS? This is unuseful. Put this on necro? Over jagged or discord or ss? GL 95.84.217.121 15:15, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
- It's an absolutely horrid skill (except in certain HA gimmicks =P), FF and infuse are both necro skills and are already on most MM bars, which means: Bar compression, Good Elite Monk Skills. Your entire party should NOT be diseased (kiting says hi) and if you are dumb enough, or the other team is just really determined to disease you all, then FF still deals with it effectively. There is absolutely no need to bring Matyr.--Silven 23:12, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

Needs something[edit]
Like damage-reduction on party members. It would even fit its name better in that state, imo. Just a thought since sometimes I feel bad for all the elites in this game that will never see a player's bar. 141.165.171.2 03:52, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- No, that would be dumb. It's an elite which not only doesn't scale with anything but has a small recharge/e-cost/normal activation time. Putting damage-reduction on party members means instantly it becomes a no-brain prot. Spam it! because it prots everything for no reason! infact, let's make it heal 50 on each person too and 1/4 cast time. /sarcasm--Silven 11:00, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Rt/Mo[edit]
Good Rt/Mo combination is to use with Resilient Was Xiko in condition heavy areas. I tried it about 3 months ago, and I remember it working ok. Not as good on Monk primaries due to investment in restoration. Lolwho 05:39, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
Range?[edit]
What's the range of this skill? Earshot? Compass? Infinity(remember old UA)? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 173.32.190.24 (talk).
- Compass range, based on Isle of the Nameless. MA Anathe 06:50, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
Allies?[edit]
Is it actually allies or is it party members only? [ Tyloric ] [ Talk ] 17:26, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- It is indeed allies. You can test it on Isle of the Nameless by having someone cast Martyr near the allied Student of Burning, Student of Deep Wounds, Student of Crippled, and Student of Bleeding. Vili 点 17:41, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
Targetting[edit]
Deos this target oneself? Like, will I as monk, gain health as per divine favor? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 206.188.90.120 (talk) at 22:22, 28 June 2019 (UTC).
