Hidden city?[edit]

Why is the Hidden City on the list? It's not a vanquishable explorable, which would make it the only exception.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 21:23, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

1. It is vanquishable. 2. He's been the The Undercity which isn't, which I believe makes that the only exception to the vanquishable explorable rule (136 vq zones and 137 Nick stops leaves room for only one). --Valshia 21:53, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
My mistake (twice!). I wasn't around when he was in the UC, so didn't notice it. Thanks.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 22:16, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Highlighting a location[edit]

Corrected the highlight for this week. The highlight "tag" goes on the line before the location, not the one after. 69.182.174.11 20:33, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

It might have been accidentally intentional: today's ZVQ is Sage Lands. (It might be the first time that, on Monday, Nick started collecting in a zone near the ZVQ, Zish, or Zounty.)
Regardless, good catch; thanks for fixing it. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:40, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

Number of remaining zones?[edit]

I'm confused. It says that Nick has visited 117 of 137 zones, leaving 21 zones. According to my maths, there's only 20 zones left. Also, in the table, there's only 19 zomes listed, if I exclude this week's entry. I would correct this if I knew what is the correct variation, but since I don't I'm hoping someone who knows that can sort it out. Zohane Trueaim 08:53, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

Fixed. (Cliffs of Dohjok was missing for some reason.) Also: each week, you can pretty much assume that whoever makes the first update will miss one of the items on the to-do list.
  1. Remove last week's row.
  2. Move the shading to this week.
  3. Increment the number of visits.
  4. Decrement the remaining zones.
  5. Change the date.
  6. 0.5½ gallon of milk
Thanks for calling attention to the discrepancy. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 09:16, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
Blast, I forgot the milk! Well I'm not going back a third time. — Nonsuch 16:44, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

Arbor Bay[edit]

Absolutely certain he was in Arbor Bay asking for Krait Skins once until mid-week when he changed what he asked for. Seems likely he won't be there again this cycle. 67.213.78.9 05:20, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

That's right, which is why I am absolutely sure he will be there again this cycle. We were told that they made a mistake when they placed him in Arbor Bay, so I expect that first day didn't count. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 05:56, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
Agree with TEF, that's why I've been keeping all my krait skins since that day. I'd imagine it's going to be the very last item, as it seems to me that being the last item would make it more likely to flake on them. -- FreedomBoundUser Freedom Bound Sig.png 11:24, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
Vindication! Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 18:43, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
Terribly weird that he's in a different spot than last time. User Judas Sig.pngudas 19:45, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

New cycle[edit]

So, only half an hour left before Nick's new cycle starts. I guess people are going to go to Regent Valley to check there first, but I'm guessing Anet is not going to make it that easy for us this time around. 193.215.199.34 14:32, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

Oh well. I was dead wrong. Seems he is repeating the same cycle, starting with the good ol' Iris Flowers. How boring. 193.215.199.34 15:28, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
Can't see him anywhere in Traveler's Vale. I guess last week was just Nick returning to Regent Valley as a homage to the first time he went travelling in post-searing. 85.19.140.9 15:50, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) I've repurposed the article for his second cycle. At worst, it provides a list of the 135 remaining locations with too much detail; at best, it's a useful predictor for the item requests, too. If it turns out that he starts to mix locations/requests or does something drastically different, we can remove any columns that might be distracting confusing.

I've left the sort-order the same as his cycle-1 appearance order; each column can be sorted if someone wants an alphabetical list. I've also started the convention of moving the current request to the top (so it's easier to see while the list is more than a screenful). – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:36, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

Comparing Cycles[edit]

How Closely has Nick followed the order of the original cycle?--Will Greyhawk 21:22, 26 March 2012 (UTC)

Made a Small Format Change[edit]

I just made a change to the list that makes the present location's Zone an internal link, and ask this be continued with future updates. I think there are some {many} people who don't know where some {many} of these location are, and it would save them {me} having to type (or cut-and-paste) the char. into Search to find out. – Nonsuch 18:05, 23 July 2012 (UTC)

I created the original list without links because it was faster for me at the time. If you want the links (which I think would be helpful), I think you should add them now to the rest of the table (not too hard using the tool bar). That way, it doesn't depend on someone else remembering one additional step each week. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 23:23, 23 July 2012 (UTC)
Done. Checked them and they all seem to go to an "explorable area" page, so I think they're OK.
{P.S. Is there any way of getting rid of the hard-returns at the top, while leaving your instructions legible AND not commenting out the VARs? Dumb markup language.} – Nonsuch 03:02, 4 August 2012 (UTC)

Current Cycle[edit]

I have verified the list and count as of Jan 14. Assuming that each collected item's page has been updated by someone each time Nick has visited, the list and count is now complete and accurate. Gwynna Vive 22:52, 15 January 2013 (UTC)

outdated[edit]

is there any point in updating this when http://www.authmann.de/guildwars/nicholas/ strikes out the previously visited locations? -Chieftain Alex 19:09, 15 April 2013 (UTC)

Imo there isn't much of a point. We might as well delete or archive or whatever this page I guess.
Will Tub update the other page in a year though? Or could someone else? Steve1 (talk) 22:13, 23 July 2013 (UTC)
Anyone else wanna chime in on this? Steve1 (talk) 17:51, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

Please don't delete this page as I use it to tell the following when Nick has been found a) what he is looking for and how many b) Where in the map he is

Do we want to show the original incorrect arbor bay location ? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.6.22.60 (talk) at 14:57, 25 November 2013 (UTC).

The Nicholas the Traveler page already indicates "what he is looking for and how many" and "Where in the map he is" "when Nick has been found". --Silver Edge 05:11, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

Missing location[edit]

Is it just me or are there only 14 locations left in the list. Although it should be 15. Do I need to l2count again? Steve1 (talk) 17:36, 7 April 2014 (UTC)

According to Tub's site, the remaining ones are ...
  1. Dragon's Gullet
  2. Flame Temple Corridor
  3. Regent Valley
  4. Traveler's Vale
  5. Scoundrel's Rise
  6. The Black Curtain
  7. Sage Lands
  8. The Undercity
  9. Boreas Seabed
  10. Cliffs of Dohjok
  11. Sunward Marches
  12. Yahtendi Canyons
  13. The Sulfurous Wastes
  14. The Norrhart Domains
  15. Grothmar Wardowns
So its regent valley that we're missing. I guess it depends if we're counting red irises as being the start or the end.. it should be the start, so I think we're correct except it should be 14 in the header. -Chieftain Alex 18:34, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
chances are that its red iris flowers up again soon, so I've just added it to the bottom. -Chieftain Alex 18:38, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
Well, technically speaking RIF was the first item in both the 1st and 2nd cycle. So it shouldn't be included in the list. Check with the start of the 2nd cycle a few years back.
I assume the counting error happened beginning of 2013 after quite a few updates had been missed.
I suggest to remove RIF from the list and change 15 to 14. Steve1 (talk) 18:53, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
do as you see fit, its likely yourself updating said page anyway. :) (p.s. I'm thinking of making a template that would just lookup the values for the row on Nicholas the Traveler/Research based on the location.) Chieftain Alex 19:27, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
