Pink???[edit]

Errr.... since they got rid of dye remover, how does one make a convincing pink dye these days? -- Salome User salome sig.png 09:08, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

White + Red or Silver + Red. My ritualist's pink armor was made from silver + Red, you can check it out on my userpage. --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 09:11, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
It also really depends on your armor. Good places to start are Red + Purple, Red + Silver and Red + White. Some combos work better for some armor than others, for example, metalic warrior armor shows a nice vivid pink with Red + Silver while on most sets of elementalist armor, it is just a washed out Pink. -- Dragonlord Tony 09:25, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) Hmmm...Very nice but on my monk armour i tried red+white, red+silver and red+purple and it just looks like red armour which has been left in the wash too long or a maroon colour. However I tried it on my dragon helmet and pink+purple makes a great pink on that. Annoying that base colours are still effecting dye composites. -- Salome User salome sig.png 09:26, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Oh that reminds me, they reset all the base colours to red for EoTN armours I think. Thus it should be easier to make pink on those armours. -- Salome User salome sig.png 09:36, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
R u sure? cause yesterday i bought an asura armor and it was gray --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 09:46, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
All armour is now dyed grey when you buy it, however that doesn't change the base colour. I think its a dye glitch, but before they brought in the dye preview window etc..., every armour had a base colour. Ele was purple, Necro was red, Mesmer was green, warrior, monk and Ranger were yellow and so on. Now what this meant for applying dyes is that when you applied 1 dye it was fine. The dye would just apply normally; Eg blue dye = blue armour and so on. However where it got complicated was where you applied a dye mix. E.G.; Applying red and purple to make pink, however what would actually happen (and what still does happen) is that the dye mixes with the base colour as well. so it would be red + purple + base colour = ???. It was this none standard base colour which made some dye colours easier to attain for some professions and harder for others. For example its easy to get pink on necro armour as its base colour is red, so it would be red + purple + red(base colour) = dark pink, however this isn't so easy with assasin as red + purple + blue (base colour) = a dark purple. I should point out that on some armour sets this doesn't happen and its not glitched. Now for EOTN it seems that they reset the base colour to red for all armours bought in EoTN So even though you get grey armour, it's base colour is still red and will mix with the dye combo you add to it, thus theoretically making it easier to dye EoTN armours pink than their none EoTN counterparts. -- Salome User salome sig.png 10:43, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
I understand. Thnx for the info, never knew that. --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 11:20, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

On most of my armors for a Pink Dye I tend to use 3 Reds and a Purple, if that doesn't work I just play around with some colours till I find a Pink I like ^-^. If you would like some ideas of the colours please check my character page section on my wiki page (P.S. I realise this post might be a little out of date but there maybe still some people unsure of how to make a pinky colour ^^). --Find And Seek User Find And Seek sig.png 23:41, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Pink issues[edit]

Hi Draconus! I wish you all the luck I can with the event. Im sorry that your guild officer past away. That was a great memorial speech for him. Anyway, moving on.

I was wondering if a flames eye counts as pink. Its the only pink thing I have, and I dont want to let the district im in down by being the only person not wearing pink. This does mean that I will be naked elsewhere, sorry if that ruins celebrations. --Burning Freebies 19:26, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Nah it's not a problem at all! We don't want people to not show up, with or without pink. Feel free to wear (or not wear :P ) what you'd like Master Saji 17:48, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Weekend events[edit]

Please note that the Weekend events article is for posting official Anet/GW related weekend events, and not player-hosted ones (such as this).--Fighterdoken 21:59, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

That's nice and all but what does it have to do with Pink Day? It's under community-hosted events...Master Saji 06:01, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
We had two anons adding the event earlier. Wanted to be sure it didn't happend again.--Fighterdoken 06:04, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, dunno who did that, but twas not Saji or Me, sorry about the mess. -- Dragonlord Tony 20:48, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Nice work![edit]

It was a great event for the 20 minutes i stayed there. Nice to see most people there with pink. Lazy guild didnt need to die armour, there cape turned pink for them! Nice to see community spirit throughout the event, and people learning from those facts. 2 districts full (i think they were). If only those spamming traders and recruiters would shut up and let us get on with the event! Why would anyone want to join a guild in the middle of an important event, and when all of the people there were already in decent guilds? Nice to see lots from my guild joining in as well.

Overall, a success. Well done DRGN! --Burning Freebies 20:00, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Thank's for showing your support! Saji was the mastermind behind all of this from the start. He took care of all the details and plans, we just did whatever we could to help him make it bigger and better than last year. Thanks to BladeRadio, KISS and LaZy we got a giant boost. Now the only question is, how are we going to top this next year? :) -- Dragonlord Tony 08:37, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, thats a problem. More publicity and guilds to help you? Its nice to see James, leader of my guild, taking part, and Daniel frozenwind aids another community event. Lots of people i know got involved. If only i had such a big part... --Burning Freebies 18:39, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

2009 cancelled?[edit]

Will there be no Pink day this year? --Burning Freebies 09:24, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Yeah --User Master Saji Sig.jpgMaster Saji 12:05, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

Donating[edit]

Sorry but i'm having problems to find where to donate. - EDIT: nevermind i found it but i cant donate because i dont have a Masercard or Visa, i was hoping to be able to donate using Paypal. :(

We tried to get Paypal established for the donations, but could not get it set up. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you :( --Malchior Devenholm 07:38, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
I wanted to donate and was hoping too that it would be possible via paypal. Unfortunately it is not. Now, as I do not have a VISA-card I´m not able to donate. The least I can do is to show my support by putting the
Pink Day logo.png This user supports Pink Day in LA and the fight against breast cancer!

box on my userpage. Thanks for creating that. Please give us the chance to donate via paypal next time. I have spent some money for extra xunlai storage, for ingame sound, for additional chapters and character slots. I still enjoy Guild Wars and I really would like to donate and as I cannot I somehow feel excluded. All the best --Tapps75 16:35, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

Hey! I just want to let you know that we allowed the option for people to donate to the Extra Life donation page as well under my name so they could still be entered for the prizes. The Canadian Cancer Society is really upset that they were not able to get the paypal stuff up....the online donations stuff is fairly new to the Saskatchewan Division. It is definitely something they will have setup for next year. Here is the link to the Extra Life donation page under my real name : Rhonda Head --> https://www.hospitalshelpingkids.org/ExtraLife/m.aspx?i=1956677829FE17CC6

Hope that helps! -RoflMonkRofl User Roflmonkrofl Daisysig.JPG 04:00, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

Winners?[edit]

Will you list all the winners and their prize somewhere? Not just the ones from donation but also the people who participated on gw-en radio. I d like to know in special if the one person who was picked as winner on error (20th pm instead of 30th) gave his prize back so that the real winner was able to get it because it was mentioned on the radio that the dj made an error and handed it out to the wrong player, but not if the actual 30th got his stuff or even what he/she (as well as what the false 20th pick) won. The Dj was Opal Tightstring, tried to contact her as well as the 20th and 30th players ingame but they seems to be offline during my usual playtime :)

Yes! Give me a few days and I will have the complete list up on here! :D -RoflMonkRofl User Roflmonkrofl Daisysig.JPG 04:46, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Email problem[edit]

Is the donations@gw-en.com address working? I keep getting bounces. -- Hong 08:11, 2 October 2011 (UTC)

I believe that the donation address is working, we did a bounce test and I checked it out myself....I did add more room to the account as well. You might of just happened to email it as I was updating...sorry about that! -RoflMonkRofl User Roflmonkrofl Daisysig.JPG 17:49, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

2011[edit]

Timing error[edit]

The times posted for this year are 12pm-6pm on the 15th. Is time going to flow backwards or was it meant as 12pm on the 14th (midnight), lasting 18 hours till the following 6pm? Or maybe 12am on the 15th for six hours until 6pm? emesis - 121.221.35.37 08:50, 14 October 2011 (UTC)

From 12pm-6pm means from Noon till 18:00. Midnight is either 12:00am or 00:00. --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 12:56, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
In that you are wrong. 12pm comes after 11pm which is night. How can anyone really think noon is 12pm? lol. Anyway, can someone answer the question, is it noon or midnight that the page is referring to? - emesis 121.221.35.37 17:49, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
And - The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language (Fourth Edition, 2000) has a similar usage note on this topic: "Strictly speaking, 12 a.m. denotes midnight, and 12 p.m. denotes noon, but there is sufficient confusion over these uses to make it advisable to use 12 noon and 12 midnight where clarity is required."(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12-hour_clock#Confusion_at_noon_and_midnight) - Of course I am not american and was taught that noon is 12am. So to specify that it is 12 noon or midnight would be better - 121.221.35.37 18:08, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
I don't know where you are from, but from where I'm live, what I said is correct and what you said is wrong. --MageUser MageMontu sig.pngMontu 18:50, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
Noon is 12pm, while midnight is 12am. I've traveled a lot in my lifetime, and in any nation I've been to that uses 12-hour time, this is the proper notation. Where are you from? --Mystisteel 01:30, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
